ren continued to his daily routine, brushing his teeth, showering, getting dressed, and finally getting some breakfast. everything was done rather sleepily, his body still wanting to continue sleeping after his night of rest.

a text from a client asking for a delivery caught his attention, and after replying with the details of the delivery, he saw the response of kyo, a wave of relief knowing that the other responded it that it didn't seem to weird to send a good morning text.

' I slept good! ' he typed, although the response was pretty quick after just seeing kyo's text. ren was just a little excited that kyo had actually texted him back. ' I dreamt about a cat. crazy, huh? '

kyo turned his head as he chewed his food, smiling as ren already replied. he quickly grasped his phone, bringing it to his view and reading the messages. 'that's great. and oh, really? what color was it? maybe it's a sign of my next cat (;'

chuckling to himself, kyo finished up his breakfast and put the bowl in the sink. collecting all of his things, he tugged his jacket on and slipped his phone into his pocket before exiting the apartment.

locking the door behind him, kyo headed off to work, entering the parlor and nodding to dee. he headed straight to the break room, brewing himself some coffee. before he got busy and forget, kyo pulled his phone out and sent another quick text to ren. 'i'll come by on break?'

ren hummed quietly, slipping on a sweater and his day bag before checking to see if everything was ready before leaving for the day. he called a goodbye to mai, to get a rather quiet goodbye in response from her boyfriend. a part of him wanted to question where mai was, but he shrugged it off, walking down the street and turning a corner.

he pulled his phone close to his face to continue texting kyo. ' a little orange tabby - isn't that cute? ' ren replies, continuing down the street and onto the train. it was a usual train ride, like normal, although a small part of him thought about what had happened before. was he ever going to get that out of his head?

ren made it to work, knowing it was going to be a rather busy day because of all the new shipments. it wasn't anything he couldn't handle, but he honestly couldn't wait for the week to be over already. he checks his phone once more, seeing another text from kyo. ' coolio c: ' he texts back. really? coolio? well, it was too late, he can't really unsend a text.

moving to his room with his freshly brewed coffee, kyo took a seat and sipped at the hot liquid with a gentle sigh of relief. as his phone buzzed with a response from ren, he lifted it, smiling slightly.

'tabbies are very cute, did it have a name?' he sent back, chuckling lightly at the 'coolio' that followed after ren's first text. placing his phone aside, kyo read over a few emails, setting up some appointments before grabbing some paper.

reading a few descriptions from previous emails, as well as looking over a few reference photos, kyo began to sketch out some of the designs. he preferred the people come in and guide him on what he was sketching, but a lot of them preferred to just explain over email so they didn't have to 'waste' a trip.

ren opens the door to his shop, flipping the sign from closed to open, and keeping the door open as the weather was nice today. he moves to the counter, setting down his bag and tying on his favorite green apron.

he sneaks another check at his phone, beaming when he sees the reply from kyo. 'nah. they were a little mystery,' he types, wanting to add more but noticing a couple walking into his shop. he stops setting his phone away and gives them a small greeting.

ren had a schedule of what he wanted to do today, and that consisted of watering, selling, and arranging. the more he worked the more he thought about hiring someone. he thought about what kyo said about being lonely. he wasn't lonely, was he? ren looked at the small orchid beside him, staring at it as it stayed completely still, practically lifeless. I am lonely. he thought to himself.

kyo peered over at his phone halfway through a sketch, smiling as ren's name popped up. finishing up his part, he reached out to his phone and read the message. 'darn. i think honey would be cute, if i get an orange one. or maybe fish.' he sent with a grin.

placing his phone back down on the table, kyo continued to work happily throughout the morning, even managing to get a set of walk-in tattoos done, a mother and her daughter wanting to get a simple phrase on their wrists.

as his lunch break finally came around, kyo rose to his feet, pocketing his phone and heading to the break room. grabbing his cold water, he twisted the cap off and began drinking some of the cool liquid, exiting the parlor with a wave to dee. moving towards ren's flower store, he hummed quietly as he pulled the door open.

after watering everything in the store, which took quite a while as he managed other clients, ren took a small break, going to his phone and taking a swig of water from his water bottle. he read over the text from kyo, and other text from his friend practically begging him to go on a group outing. ' fish! that's really cute! ' he texted back to kyo.

it was a rather eventful morning after that. ren was strangely hit on by an older man, who honestly had no business being in a flower shop. but on the bright side, he was able to sell two bouquets to the man, who insisted on getting his number as ren politely declined.

he sold a large bundle of flowers to a group of women, made an order for a birthday and anniversary, and sold clean out of carnations, a surprisingly popular group of flowers. he was working with a woman hoping to get flowers for her office when he noticed kyo walk through the door. he waved a small greeting to kyo, but continued with his client, waiting until she left to talk to the other.

kyo smiled slightly to ren, lifting his hand in response and lingering quietly around the store, not wanting to interrupt ren and his customer. once the woman left, kyo smiled and moved over to ren.

"you've been busy today, huh?" kyo observed, eyes roaming the flower shop and noticing some of the flowers that were now missing, and probably in the hands of a happy customer.

sipping from his water bottle, kyo leaned against the counter per usual. "do you want half of my sandwich?" he then questioned, turning and grabbing the familiar paper bag from his other bag, holding it up and wiggling it a bit.

ren nodded, resting slightly against the counter and giving a small sigh of relief. " it's been a long day. " he grumbled quietly, feeling exhausted but also proudly successful. it was impressive for him to do it on his own, he had to give himself that, at least.

he watches as kyo offers him the bag, shaking his head softly. he noticed a permanent smile on his face that didn't seem to leave since kyo first entered the store. they were going on a date. he was going on a date. with kyo. ren couldn't have been happier.

" no, i'm fine, thank you. " the male declines, reaching over to his own water bottle and taking a small drink. " how's your day? any big designs? "

kyo chuckled quietly at ren's slightly tired posture. as ren declined the sandwich, kyo nodded and put the bag away. he'd eat later on, when he wasn't with ren.

at ren's question, kyo paused before shaking his head. "no, not really. i did a matching tattoo today which was fairly cool. a mother and daughter pair." he mused, running his fingers through his hair. "i think i am doing a big one tomorrow, though." kyo added.

glancing around the store, he smiled slightly at how hard of a worker ren was. "you know, it's pretty cool that you do this all on your own." he pointed out to ren.
