[miss kobayashi]

ren was able to get a little bit of sleep until hunger forced him awake. he went downstairs and grabbed an apple, something simple because he was too lazy and too tired to make anything else. he noticed the box of tea already opened and used.

ren checked his phone to see a text from his friend inviting him out for the weekend. ' sorry, dude. I got plans. ' ren replies, then checking over his others texts. he beams when he sees kyo, clicking on the message excitedly.

'doin good. mai liked the tea. ' he sends. ren was able to stop himself before sending out a heart with the message, sighing in relief when he avoided the inevitable embarrassment.

kyo ate the meal quietly, chuckling as monster tried to steal some occasionally. when his phone lit up, kyo's eyes moved to peer at the screen, placing his food down and grabbing it when he saw who had texted.

reading over the message, kyo smiled slightly before typing out a response. 'that's great, i'm glad she liked it.' he sent, before pausing and typing more. 'hopefully you've eaten?' he added on before placing his phone back down.

chuckling as monster tried to sneak over to kyo's food, he lifted the container up, finishing up the meal before rising to his feet, washing the plastic container before tossing it into his recycling bin.

ren took a bite of the apple, looking down at his phone while munching happily. reading over what kyo had sent back had reminded him, where was mai? the most likely possibility is that she was going on a date.

he reads over the next message, responding with a huff. ' yup. not much in the house but i took what i could get. you did 2? ' ren replies back, yawning softly and setting down his phone.

one of the nicer things about living with someone else is that the house is usually clean, besides his room that can often be a mess. he stretches his arms over his head, letting out another quiet yawn, his eyes watering.

kyo leaned back into his couch with a gentle yawn, monster climbing onto the couch beside him and curling up with a gentle purr. he smiled slightly, gently patting the black feline and moving his eyes to the tv.

hearing his phone go off once more, kyo read over the text and hummed slightly before responding. 'yeah, monster kept trying to eat it, though. he acts as if i don't feed him.' he texted with a slight chuckle.

'what time would you want to go out saturday?' he then sent afterwards, grunting as his phone was on low battery. rising to his feet, he moved to his room and stole the charger, returning to the living room and plugging the charger in, before plugging his phone in as well.

' oh no! haha. ' ren types back, giggling quietly as he thought of monster fighting kyo for food. what a cutie. he thought to himself, taking another bite of the apple and looking down to his phone once more.

' could we do it later? like @ night? i'm sorry but I need to do some stuff early that day. ' he types back. he had promised to meet up with an old friend from high school and although they were meeting in the day he knew it could get late before they knew it. and he wanted to have time to get ready for the date.

ren got a bottle of water from the fridge, taking a quick peek out the window before returning back to his bedroom, keeping the door open in case he heard mai return home.

kyo was half asleep, blinking himself awake when his phone buzzed. reaching out and grabbing his device, he read over the two messages before responding. 'yeah, we can do it at night, no worries.' he sent, rising to his feet and flicking the tv off.

grabbing his charger, kyo moved towards his room, plugging the charger back into the wall before sending ren another text. 'gonna take a shower and might head to bed, if i forget to text you again, goodnight!' he quickly typed, before moving into the bathroom.

finishing up with his shower, kyo stifled a yawn as he laid on his bed, turning his head as monster quickly jumped onto the mattress as well.

ren waited a second to reply, hoping that he wasn't texting the other back to quickly, as he didn't want to seem desperate. after a minute of casual waiting, he texts back, 'okay! ! good nite! '

he wanted to wait by his phone until, or at least if, kyo texted him back. he waited rather eagerly by his phone, his eyes slowly closing every now and then, eventually forcing himself awake by shaking his head and grunting softly.

sleep soon got the better of him and he drifted asleep rather quickly, his mouth gaped open as he slept silently, his phone still close to his face.

kyo began to doze off slowly, but the thought of ren flooded through his head and guilt pinged at his heart. with half open, blurry eyes, kyo reached to his phone and opened ren's contact before typing.

'giod nifht citie' he texted, not even bothering to correct the mistakes as he sent the message, putting his phone down before letting his head drop into the pillow, easily drifting off to sleep.

the next morning, the annoying yet somewhat gentle alarm began to fill the room, kyo grumbling in soft protest. his arm reached out, sliding his finger across the screen to shut off the alarm. shoving his face back into his pillow, kyo sighed loudly before forcing himself to sit up.

sleep was nice, nicer than a usual night of sleep because ren woke up feeling a little more well rested than before. he had even woken up earlier than his alarm or sister, which surprised him quite a bit.

he yawned softly, moving to the end of his bed and stretching his arms over his head. he reaches for his phone, grinning when he sees the text that kyo had sent him last night after he had fallen asleep. he rubbed his cheeks to try to hide the tint of red that was forming.

a part of him wanted to send a good morning text to the other, but he didn't want to seem clingy at all. but he knew that kyo had started most of the text conversations in the past, so it was the least he could do. ' morning c: did ya sleep well??? ' he texts.

after sitting in bed and staring at nothing for a good couple of minutes, kyo shook his head and rubbed his eyes awake with a yawn, glancing over to see monster still sound asleep. "lucky cat." kyo mumbled sleepily, reaching out for his phone once it buzzed.

a smile formed across kyo's lips as he read the text from ren, moving his fingers to reply. 'good morning. i slept pretty good, but i wanna go back to my bed already ): how did you sleep?' he sent, placing his phone aside and rising to his feet to head to the bathroom.

having showered last night, kyo just did what he needed to before grabbing his phone and moving to the kitchen, feeding his cat before grabbing a bowl and pouring some cereal into it, huffing when he realized he only had a bit of milk left. looks like it was shopping day after work. using the rest of the milk, kyo took a seat at the tiny table he had and began to eat.
