Bella looked at him and bit her lip slightly. "Yeah, I like to think they're real though." She said, she knew they were real but tried not to sound suspicious. "There should be a werewolf in my notebook.." She said quietly and flicked through her book. She found the picture and showed it to him, it was a similar form to her but not exact. She tilted her head slightly when he looked away. She hadn't done something wrong had she?. When he looked back at her she looked back at him. "Great. I'll have to teach you soon."

" Yeah... I guess they could be real" Mason said, offering her a small smile," I mean, anything's possible right?" Mentally, he was a little panicky. Had Bella figured out his secret? She sounded as if she really did know a lot about werewolves. As Bella showed him her drawing, his suspicions were even more real. Her drawing of the werewolf was startlingly accurate to what they really looked like. Mason was impressed by her art skill, but it also made him nervous that Bella might have figured out his secret. " That's amazing, you're a terrific artist " He said honestly, smiling at Bella with his usual friendly grin.

"You seem terrified.. Are you scared of werewolves or something?" She asked him and closed her notebook. He seemed suspicious, like he knew something. Was that special something she thought about him more obvious than she thought? She looked at her the drawing of her werewolf quickly to see if anything was wrong with it. There didn't seem to be anything wrong with it so she looked back at Mason, "Yeah.. thanks.." She said quietly, smiling at him a little.

" Something like that" Mason muttered, rubbing the back of his neck uncomfortably. He was relieved to hear the sound of the school bell ringing, signalling the end of class. Mason gathered up his things, realizing that he hadn't taken any notes or written down their homework. His mind was still filled with worry about what Bella might know about him. Stop it, you're being stupid, Bella doesn't know I'm a werewolf. She just likes werewolves and wolves; there's nothing strange about that. Mason seemed to relax a bit more after his little inner "peptalk". He smiled over at Bella, " Hey, do you want to eat lunch together?" He offered, though realized she probably didn't want to sit with him and his rowdy friends.

Bella walked out beside him, staying silent until they got to the lunch hall. She had seen the worried expression on his face in class and didn't know what she was meant to say. He didn't know she was a werewolf did he? He couldn't; She thought to herself and looked at Mason when he spoke to her. "I'd rather not.. thanks for the offer though.." She answered and only got a bottle of water for her lunch - she wasn't very hungry. She sat at a table in the back where she normally sat and got a book out of her bag. She looked at Mason every so often, worried he knew about her, she shook it off and drank her water, drinking almost the whole bottle in a sip. She honestly couldn't focus on anything at the moment.

Mason gave a nod in understanding. " See you later then?" He smiled, giving a slight wave as he walked off to get a lunch tray. As usual, the dark-haired jock sat with his friends; laughing and chatting with the rest of the guys. Even though he didn't look bothered, Mason still couldn't seem to shake the uneasy feeling as he nibbled on his lunch. He cast a few glances over at Bella, but didn't make a move to come over until he noticed a group of girls going over to her. With his excellent hearing, he knew what they were saying, even with the busy background noise of the cafeteria. " Stay away from Mason, art dweeb. You're not good enough for a guy like him. What makes you so special that he pays attention to you?" The leader said bitterly, giving Bella a hard enough shove to make her fall on the floor. Without hesitation, Mason dashed over and grabbed the mean girl's wrist" Leave her alone Madison" He spat angrily, giving a sound that almost resembled an animal growl. Madison, the mean girl, attempted to scratch and kick at the alpha. Mason was too much of a gentleman to hit her back, but he did manage to pin her down after getting a few bruises and cut running from his cheek to his jaw from the girl's sharp, claw-like nails.

Bella didn't pay much attention to the girl, but when Mason came over she didn't want to see what was going to happen. Her eyes widened as the fight started right in front of her. She didn't want to move, more like she couldn't. Almost terrified at what was happening, she watched as they fought. When the fight was over she left all her stuff at the table she was sitting at to see if Mason was okay. She looked at the bruises and cuts on his face, she stared in a bit of disbelief as the cuts started healing on their own. She stuttered a bit, all she could say was; "Wolf... I have to go." and ran out of the room, out of the school and went wherever she could. She sat behind the school and kept repeating in her head. He's a wolf. A wolf. Another wolf. Someone like me. She knew she needed to get up at some point, as she had left all her things in the lunch hall, but for now she was fine sitting behind the school still in disbelief.

Mason wiped the blood from his cheek, his cuts an bruises healing rapidly. By the time he stood up and turned to make sure Bella was okay, they were almost completely healed. " Bella, are you-?" He started, but was cut off by her look of disbelief and stuttered words. Wolf Bella had said; she knew what he was now. Was she afraid of him? The thought stabbed at Mason's heart painfully as he watched her run away. " Bella! Please wait!" He called, running out after her," Please... just let me explain..." He pleaded quietly," I'm not a monster, I'm still just Mason." The dark haired boy knelt beside her, but not so close that he was threatening

"I'm not scared.. you don't need to explain.." Bella didn't know how to tell him she was a wolf too, she had never told anyone. She looked up at him and said "I need to tell you something too..." she picked up a sharp stick and cut her palm with it, so she was bleeding. She showed her hand to Mason as it healed. "I'm a wolf too." She whispered to him. She has just told someone her biggest secret, and she had only known him for a day. He was probably going to kill her.

Mason's eyes were wide in shock as Bella explained that she was a wolf and wasn't afraid of him. This definitely was a first. " Whoa..." He said, very gently taking her hand as he watched it heal the cut. " You are a wolf." He whispered, looking at a her with still wide eyes," This is... amazing" He said, slightly breathless from awe," You're amazing! I never thought... " Mason was so stunned and glad that she didn't hate him for being a werewolf that he didn't quite know what to say.
