"I don't know," he whispered. He leaned into her a bit, and he wasn't shaking as much. Could she stop that from happening?

[Berenice.]

“Wrong answer. You do know. I wouldn’t let you go to a foster home and you certainly won’t get into another accident, especially with my over protective mom watching over you like she does. One things is for sure, you’re not going to a foster home.” Megan answered then watched Sky run around.

"Okay," he whispered, barely audible. He slowly stopped shaking, but he didn't pull away from Megan. Sky ran up to them an catapulted himself into Storm's lap. He licked Storm's face, putting his paws on his shoulders. Smiling a bit, Storm gently pushed Sky off of him.

[Berenice.]

Megan laughed at what Sky did. “See, even Sky agrees. Now come on. We should probably go now. My mom will be worried sick you are out too long. It will be dark soon anyway.” She stood up as she spoke and dusted herself off.

He nodded. "Alright." He brought Sky back to his cage, hugging him goodbye. Sky whimpered, but Storm knew that he couldn't take him with him, so he shut the door of the cage and locked it.

[Berenice.]

Megan noticed how Sky seemed to be upset. “Do you think we could foster Sky? I’m sure my mom would be fine with it. We can just get the things we need tomorrow after school. You seem to really like Sky and he obviously likes you too.”

"If your mom's alright with it," he said. "Then we'd see if you would be responsible enough to take care of your own dog." He walked back to the front desk and gave the lady the key.

[Berenice.]

“We can sort it out after school. We will obviously see if my mom is okay with it first. But I’m sure if we tell her that the dog helps you then she will definitely let us. I guess we will find out.” Megan shrugged, walking out the shelter and heading home.

He nodded. He followed her down the road. Suddenly, a car squealed around the corner and raced down the road. Panicked, Storm gripped Megan's arm and pulled her behind him, blocked her from the speeding car. He flinched away from it as it sped by. He was shaking like a leaf, his eyes squeezed shut.

[Berenice.]

Megan didn’t really know what had happened until a few seconds after the car sped past. “Hey, Hey, we’re fine. It just sped past.” She reassured him, then hugged him to calm him down. “You’re fine. Nobody got hurt, it didn’t even come close to us so nothing bad happened. You’re okay.”
