marcella was overcome with nausea from sitting in the back seat. she jumped out and ran into the store when michelle parked, finding the nearest trash can for her bagel to come back up. “never… am i… sitting… in the back… again.”

river quickly followed the girl, scooping her hair up and glaring at anyone who stared too long. "im sorry, princess . do you want a mint?" he asked her quietly.

“a mint would be great.” she said, tears flowing out of her eyes. she wiped her mouth and continued into the store, threatening people who stared with her fist.

river pulled one out of his pocket, handing it to her and taking a tissue from michelle, gently wiping the tears away and kissing the top of her head.

marcella placed the mint in her mouth. “thank you, love.” she said, giving him a side hug before walking over to the maternity jeans.

river nodded, he and michelle following after the pregnant woman. river flipped through some jeans, acting as if he knew what he was looking for.

marcella grabbed a few pairs of jeans, then went over to river. “ready?” she asked, placing them into a cart. she hadn’t fully recovered from her hurling experience, but she was fine as of now.

river observed the jeans she picked
nodding his head a bit. "is that all you need?" he questioned, kissing her forehead and letting his eyes roam the store.

“well, for now. i don’t know how much bigger i’ll get.” marcella answered, running her hands over the jeans. “and unless you want to buy something for the baby.”
