river shrugged a bit. "i dunno." he responded, burying his face in the crook of her neck and sighing gently. "you better do that cute crap and paint my number on your cheek." he murmured with a low chuckle.

kat grunted, glaring at her phone. 'considering he has liked her for years, yeah, it's pretty damn serious.'

”of course.” she grinned, kissing his cheek. “i gotta support you, hon.” marci giggled.

‘i’m sorry if i made you mad, i am new, after all’ he sent back hesitantly.

river chuckled softly, kissing her shoulder before collapsing back onto the bed with her in his arms, a laugh escaping his lips.

kat sighed at his words. 'a lot of people only talk to me so they can get close to my brother. no offense, it kinda seemed that way with you trying to help katie.'

Marci laughed as well, smiling. “i..” she started. “i’m going to go get a drink.” she would have said ‘love you’, but that would be too forward, way too forward. she stood up, starting to walk away.

‘oh. i just really want to know things about people. i would never help katie in my life.’ he sent to kat.

river furrowed his brows at her words, sitting up and watching her. "you just randomly decided you wanted a drink?" he questioned suspiciously, rising to his feet and moving towards the girl.

kat pursed her lips, sighing slightly. 'alrighty'

”yes, yes i did.” she crossed her arms over her chest, looking down at the ground, shuffling her feet on the hardwood floors.

‘sorry.’ he sent back. ‘wanna hang out, go to the mall or something?’

river frowned, lightly poking her sides. "hey, what's wrong? did i do somethin'?" he questioned, replaying the previous moments in his head to try and figure out where he had upset her.

kat chewed her lower lip. it wasn't like marcella and river were going to separate soon. 'yeah, sure!'

”no, hon. you didn’t do anything.” marci shrugged. “just spooked myself.” she said, sighing.

river sighed, running his thumb along her cheek. "can ya tell me why?" he pressed, brows still furrowed in slight confusion and concern.

'what time?' kat sent, shifting around in her bed.

“i don’t think so.” she said quietly. “it’s too weird.” marcella leaned against the wall. “i need an aspirin.” she rubbed her temple.

‘how about at 3? i’m sorta busy until then.’ leon sent back, sinking in his chair.
