river opened his eyes as he heard a few clatters, his gaze landing on his favorite candies, looking to marcella's tear stained face, guilt hit his heart again. he did that. he reached out, pulling the woman into his lap and resting his head in the crook of her neck. "i'm so sorry i was mean." he whispered, holding her as if she were going to slip away.

“i’m sorry i didn’t tell you.” marcella told him, running her fingers through his hair. she let her tears run, soaking the back of his shirt. “and i’m sorry that you think don’t do enough. you’re the best husband ever. i appreciate you so much. for you thinking i’m mad you work too much, i’m just sad that you think supporting our family makes me mad. and you even thinking that you don’t treat estelle good?! you’re the best parent ever.”

river held the woman close to his chest, hating the fact he made her cry. as she spoke, he shook his head. "i just didn't want to keep doing things if they upset you. all i ever want is to see you and estelle happy." he murmured, placing gentle kisses on the top of her head. "i can't believe estelle is gonna have a sibling." he spoke, a slight smile pulling onto his lips as he slipped his hand onto her stomach, gently rubbing it. "do you need me to get more of that medicine that helps?" he questioned his wife.

marcella cried tears of joy. “i love you so much.” she murmured into his shirt. “no. me and kat are picking it up. actually, yes. i am not going anywhere at this rate.” marcella sighed, looking at river and giving him a kiss. “we should tell your mom. any ideas?” she asked

river smiled, gently rubbing her back. "i love you too, beautiful." he murmured. as she declined before thinking about it and accepting, he nodded his head. "so you already called it in?" he questioned, just to be safe. when she mentioned telling his mom, he paused to think. "maybe after the gender appointment, we can cook a cake or whatever with that color inside and all eat it. then we can all just start talking about how cool it will be that estelle gets a brother or sister like she isn't there." river chuckled.

“sounds good.” marcella agreed. “can we go to bed? i’m exhausted from-” she cut herself short as she ran to the bathroom. “is this even healthy?!” she squeaked, but didn’t want to worry river. she had a mint in and a forced smile on her face as she walked out.

river frowned as she took off to empty her stomach. as she returned, he rose to his feet and shrugged. "i dunno, but if you talked to the doctor about it and they didn't seem too concerned, maybe it's fine." he murmured, kissing her cheek.

marcella nodded. “i imagine. but this has been worse than estelle.” she walked up the stairs and into his room, collaping on the bed.

the male nodded slowly, rising to his feet and following marcella up the stairs, entering their room and smiling gently at the girl on the bed. "need anything before i shower?" river asked his wife, walking over and rubbing her arm.

marcella smiled at him. “no. just leave the door unlocked unless you want me to throw up on your rug.” she told him, with a slight goofy grin.
