river chuckled softly at marcella's complaint, his head turning as a knock sounded out before kat, leon, and michelle entered with the bags of food. kat searched through the bags, handing marcella and river their food first.

marcella thanked her friends and started to eat eagerly. eventually, she pushed the leftovers away and started to fall asleep as everyone else opened up dessert. “save one for me...” she murmured

river ate happily, filling his empty stomach. he cleared the trash away from marcella as she began falling asleep, chuckling as she instructed them to save her some dessert.

marcella woke up an hour later. “i wonder if i can hold estelle now.” she said softly, standing up and walking out of the room, towards the nursery

river was just talking with kat quietly when marcella woke up, raising a brow as she spoke before just leaving the room. he sighed, rising to his feet and following her out. "marci, you can't just leave the room like that." he stated with a raise of his brow.

“it’s claustrophobic in there.” she turned around, her arms crossed. “i just need to get out of that room for a while.” marcella said with a challenging look in her eyes.

river passed a hand down his face. "marcella, it's just one day. you could hurt yourself, or get sick." he pointed out with a sigh, crossing his arms and narrowing his eyes slightly at her challenging look. "don't make me carry you back there, marci."

“i won’t, i’m fine.” marcella responed crossly. “don’t you dare carry me back there.” she narrowed her eyes, knowing the pity card wouldn’t work.

river shook his head. "you're not a doctor, who, by the way, said to rest. this isn't resting." he pointed out, raising a brow at her words. "alright. you can either walk back with me, or i can carry you back. your choice." river spoke, stepping to the side and gesturing back towards the room.

”fine.” she said, brushing past him and walking into the room, sitting on the bed abruptly. ignoring everyone in the room, she looked at the tv solemnly.
