1 x 1 with Carmen

[Boomer]

Alessa nodded as she looked to Carter. "I see..." she said quietly, "T-thank you." The pup looked out the window and saw that it stopped raining. "I guess it's safe to go." she said, standing up. Alessa waited patiently for Carter.

[carmen.]

"Okay." He opened the door again, keeping it opened for Alessa before locking it behind them. A single beep came from the car as it turned on and flashed its lights. He hopped into the drivers seat and waited for his daughter.

[Boomer]

Alessa walked outside with Scarlett and followed Carter out to the car. She wandered towards the back of the car, then got in. She fumbled with her seat belt before finally clicking it in place. "How far is the store from here?" she asked, "My mother, when she did take me out, always walked. We didn't have a car."

[carmen.]

"It's not too long. Just five minutes." He thrust the keys into the car and started on the road. "It's much quicker on wheels, trust me." He glanced at the radio. "Do you like music?"

[Boomer]

Alessa looked out the window, enjoying the view. She then pricked her ears as Carter asked her about music. "S-sure... who doesn't?" she asked. Alessa didn't listen to a lot of music when she was little, but she heard music in the movies she got to watch at the hospital. She didn't know what any of the songs were, however.

[carmen.]

He pressed a button and the radio instantly blared music. Carter looked through the mirror above him. "Is this song good?" It was some pop song, one of the most popular songs during these times.

[Boomer]

Alessa jumped as the music roared in her ears. The pup looked at the radio, quickly scanning each of the knobs and buttons. Without a second thought, she used her telekinesis to turn the volume knob down. Alessa pinned her ears back after realizing what she did. "I-I'm sorry..." she stuttered, "I-it was t-too loud." Alessa hoped that Carter wouldn't be mad at her. She was no where near losing control of her power.

[carmen.]

"Oh no, it's fine." He continued to drive smoothly and calmly until he fully processed what just happened. Carter's expression melted into one of shock instantly and frantically checked the car with his eyes. "How did you-"

[Boomer]

Alessa's gaze was to the floor as Carter asked how she did that. It was clear she was guilty of doing something to the radio. "I-I..." she winced, but found herself too nervous to continue speaking. Alessa was shaking a little, fearing that she'd be in trouble for using her power. She wasn't allowed to use it around her mother; if she did, she'd be beaten for it.

[carmen.]

"I just want to know." He managed to spit out. Was it just the wind? No, the windows were up. Was his car broken? He bought it only a few months ago. Did she have powers? No, that's insane.
