"Oh, I see." she said, "I've got my textbooks if you ever get bored. You might have to borrow them from Vincent, though."

He laughed a little. "Thank you love but I am not smart enough to read your books." He said to her. "I will leave them to Vincent." He added and kissed her. He really wished he could take her somewhere.

[Boomer]

Mary lightly wagged her tail as Jake paid so much attention to her. "You're smart enough." she said softly, "You'd make a great pediatrician if you chose to be."

Jake shook his head. "I don't know where you got that from, but I really don't think I am smart enough for that. I do love being with kids though. I wanted to be a doctor at one point, but after I got into college, I realized I wasn't smart enough so I switched majors." He said to her and held her close. He could tell she was happy to spend time with him and that made him happy.

[Boomer]

"I think you're smart enough." she said quietly, "The schooling is very competitive and it does feel like you've been there for a thousand years. Nursing school is similar in that respect." Mary didn't want Jake to feel that he wasn't as smart as she was; he most certainly was. "Doctors don't get to form a bond like nurses do." she murmured, "They can't spend hours with one patient."

"Well thank you. I just don't know that I could and especially starting school this late after I left school..." He said to her. "I would not even know where to start." He said to her. He kissed her forehead. "I am okay where I am though. My life is pretty great." He said.

[Boomer]

"As so long you're happy, I'm okay with your career choice." said Mary softly, shutting her eyes. She had heard of women trying to force their husbands to go back to school, only to end with debt and a divorce.

Jake smiled at her. "I am glad you are so supportive of me. It would be really cool to be a pediatrician though. I know I would love that." He said with a shrug and gently rubbed her arm.

[Boomer]

"You're still young enough." she mused, "But I don't want to push you. We live comfortably and that's fine." Mary listened to his heartbeat, which relaxed her even more.

"I don't know... I will think about it. I may want to try it. You are right. I am still young and I am sure I could work towards figuring it all out..." He said.
