Alessa looked to Jake, then lightly frowned. "It stings..." she said quietly, "At least I can still draw." She was right-handed and the shot was given in her left arm. Mary walked at their pace as she watched the pups stand by the elevator and wait for them. "After your ice cream, it'd be a good idea to take a nap." said Mary quietly, "Give your body the chance to rest and react to the vaccine."

"I'm sorry. I wish it did not sting but you can draw so that is good. We can go to the art store another day so you can rest today okay?" He said to her. He hoped she would not be too upset. He knew she wanted to go to the art store. He looked at her.

[Boomer]

Alessa nodded solemnly as she understood. She knew it was for the best to go home and sleep after her ice cream. As the others got to the elevator, the little pups rushed inside to press the "1" button. Cynthia got to it this time as she smirked to Cybil. Maria hung back in a corner as Mary stood by her pups.
OOC: I'm pretty tired, I'm gonna go to bed. G'night!

Jake looked at her. "We can go first thing tomorrow morning as long as you are feeling okay." He said. He hoped that would be okay. He knew she was upset about it but he was glad that she seemed to understand why. He walked with the others and went inside the elevator. When they got to the first floor, he walked out and headed to the car.

[Boomer]

Alessa nodded again as she walked with him out to the car. Mary unlocked the car as they got closer. Maria seemed to be walking a bit slower than normal. She appeared to be in some discomfort. Mary sensed this and walked back to her sister. "Are you okay?" asked Mary quietly. "The pups are really kicking..." said Maria quietly, not wanting to freak out the others, "It's worse than normal." Mary gave a nod as she helped Maria to the car. "You might've overdid it." she said, "We'll go home and you can rest."

Jake knew that Maria was having issues right now so he made sure to take care of all the pups so Mary could focus on taking care of Maria. He did not mind at all. He was always good with kids. He made sure all the kids were in the car before he made sure Maria was in okay before he got in as well. He hoped that everything was okay with Maria. He was not sure how to really help her so he would leave that to Mary. He knew that they needed to take her to her home to rest.

[Boomer]

"We're taking a little detour." said Mary, getting into the car, "Aunt Maria has to go home and rest, then we'll get ice cream." The pups didn't grumble or whine about the news. It didn't take long for Mary to drive back to the house. She got Maria inside and up to her room before going back outside. She half expected Jake to move to the front passenger seat.

Jake knew he should stay with the pups but he did move to the front seat wanting to have more leg room. He looked over at Mary when she got in. He gave her a small smile. He really hoped that her sister and her pups were okay. He looked out the window and thought about Alessa. He was worried about how she was adjusting. He would have to talk to her after a little while more and see how things were going.

Mary looked to Jake and returned the smile to him. "She's okay, just a little tired." she said quietly. Mary took them to one of her favorite ice cream places. It was modeled after a 50's diner and had in house made ice cream. The pups loved the place too; they had been there a few times. As Mary parked and helped get the pups out, she would check her phone to make sure that Maria didn't text her.

"Okay good." He said quietly back to her. He was glad that she would be okay. He looked when they got to the ice cream place. He got out and got the pups out before he walked to the door and held it open for everyone. There were not that many people there but there were a few. He looked at the menu and tried to pick what he wanted to get. He decided on mint chocolate chip in a waffle cone. He waited for Alessa to pick what she would like.
