"Thanks Mark." said Maria softly, "You're the best. I owe you one." She set Eileen in her crib, then woke up Rebecca and Jacqueline to feed them.

Mary didn't open her eyes, but she did listen to him. "Thank you..." she whispered.

Mark helped her with the pups and changed them for her. He did everything he could to help her and he loved it. He was really falling in love with her and he wanted her to be happy.

Jake nodded. "No problem. What time do we need to leave?" He asked her.

[Boomer]

”We have to be there at nine...” she murmured. Mary sighed some as she felt some pain. “I can’t have a bite to eat.” she mumbled, “That’s one bad thing about surgery.”

"Okay. I will talk to the pups and then we can get going." He said to her. Jake went to tell the pups. He explained to them what was going to happen that day.

[Boomer]

Needless to say, the little pups weren't happy about not going to the hospital. They wanted to be there for their mother. Alessa was quiet about the situation; she didn't want to make things hard, especially with her acting out a few days ago.

"I know you want to go but it will be a lot less stress on your mom if you stay here with Mark. Maria will be back later to watch you. I will stay with your mother. She will be fine." He said. Jake went upstairs and got ready to go before helping Mary get ready. He looked at her. "Ready to go?" He asked her.

[Boomer]

The pups got up from the table and followed after Jake. They all crawled into the bed carefully, clinging lightly to Mary. Mary slowly sat up, hugging all of them for a few moments. "As ready as I'll ever be..." said Mary quietly, "You all behave, okay?" The pups nodded as they reluctantly let go of her.

Jake gently picked up Mary and headed down the stairs. "We are heading out Maria!" He called through the door as he walked. He gently put Mary in the car.

Mark walked out of the room and looked at all the pups. "How about we all sit down and watch a movie?" He asked them.

[Boomer]

Maria raced out of the room, kissed Mark on the cheek, then went outside to help Jake with Mary. The four pups looked to Mark as the other adults left the house. "I guess..." mumbled Cybil. They weren't in the mood to really do anything. All of them looked sullen and bummed out.

Mark nodded. "Okay. What would you like to watch?" He asked taking two of Maria's pups downstairs before getting the third. He sat on the couch and turned on the TV. "How about Aladdin?" He asked them.


Jake looked at Maria. "We should drive separate so you can come back." He said to her. He then got in the car with Mary and headed over to the hospital. He got her a wheelchair and helped her into it before taking her inside.
