"I know it sounds crazy..." he looked up to where StarClan would be and then back to the beautiful queen "StarClan help us!" he said not to anyone one particular.

Nightripple smiled and opened her mouth to speak but closed it once she remembered the vigil and nodded instead. Nightripple looked down What if the other cats pick on me when Redleaf is gone? she wondered shuffling her paws, Nightripple looked up to Redleaf wishing he could understand her worry Nightripple frowned, Mabey the other cats will just...Leave me alone she thought trying to comfort herself. Nigtripple turned to see the disapproving looks and back at Redleaf, she was hungry but she was scared. she looked back at Redleaf, she could tell that worry clouded her eyes.

redleaf smiled at nightripple until he noticed her stiff posture. something was bothering her. with a hardening gaze, he looked over his shoulder, meeting eyes with a few older gossiping warriors. "why are you looking at us? dont you have anything else to do?" snapped the tom, getting back to his usual, cranky tone. some would even say he'd make a great elder. getting to his paws, he took one last look at the other cats before returning his gaze to nightripple. "i'll be back in a moment." mreowed redleaf before he quickly slipped away, paranoid if the gossips would bother her again. he grabbed a vole before making his way back to her. though he was still out of sight.

"maybe he's made a deal with birchstar? i've heard they're close... redleaf could have some information on her and be threatening her!" though it was an odd idea, riverstone believed it herself. "if he brings more kittypets into our clan, we'll be so easy to target." grumbled the shecat hurriedly, her eyes wide. "my kits might be put in danger." that only came out as a whisper as worry knotted her stomach.

Nightripple felt a shadow lean over her a deep voice hissed "Kittypet! Leave our territory before we have your pelt" Nightripple ignored them but the tom sat next to her growling.

as redleaf returned, his eyes widened in fury at what he saw. one of the clans warriors was hissing at nightripple? the audacity! redleaf wasted no time in prowling over, dropping the vole at nightripples paws and towering over the hissing tom. "if you even touch her i'll make sure your tongue is so far down your throat you wont be able to ever talk again." growled redleaf, his ginger coat bristling slightly. though his voice was cool- his eyes were blazing with fury.

"I guess he's just a bit upset about her joining the clan he frowned "She is just a kittypet " Frostfeather shook his head "Today has been one odd day" he groaned rapping his tail around the queen affectionately hoping not to frighten her or make her uncomfortable.

Nightripple sunk her head back into her shoulders and put her head down to eat the vole Releaf had kindly given her If she could thank him she would. Nightripple looked at the warrior who had gotten quite mad, he had a scar parting the fur across his shoulder and brown fur that looked almost black, one of his green eyes were cloudy and pale and his front right paw was lifted up as he limped away, He must be older she thought finishing the vole.

"who does he think he is?" hissed the ginger tom to himself his green eyes blazing. with a small sigh, he turned his attention to the dark shecat by his side. sometimes redleaf wondered why he was being so kind to her- but thats when he'd usually remember that it was nightripple. she was worth all the outrage of the clan.

riverstone purred. it seemed as though frostfeather always knew how to cheer her up. he had to be the kindest tom she had ever met. even kinder then his brother- icegaze. well, he wasnt really kind at all, riverstone had just fallen for him because of the lies he fed her. "maybe there's a reason for her joining? she could have potential." murmured the queen.

Nightripple Smiled that they respected the tom, she respected him as well of course but she respected him in a different way his orange fur moved in the wind in a pattern that was mesmerising, she stared at the tom next to her and moved closer, if she could talk she would tell him how much she cared

redleaf noticed how she had moved closer, and just smiled slightly. he knew he'd have to leave her side soon to let her experience the vigil on her own. what he was worried about though- was what if another cat bothered her when he slept? nightripple probably wouldnt be able to stop them for she wouldnt be allowed to talk... brushing the thoughts off, redleaf just enjoyed the moment in peace. he hadnt felt that happy since cricketpaw was around.

Frostfeather shuffled his paws, the wind was picking up and frankly he wasn't hungry but it wasn't him he wanted to make happy, it was Riverstone.

Would she fall asleep on accident, she was so used to the warmth of her twoleg home, her throat swelled, she would never go back to her twolegs or pine. Nightripple wondered if Redleaf would return her feelings. If he doesn't I've left my twolegs for nothing! she thought panickedly

redleaf silently told himself to stay awake that night. though it may seem creepy, he was going to be sure to stick near her. just far away that she wouldnt see him, but close enough that angry clanmates would. nodding to himself, determination filled the pits of his stomach. the warrior turned to nightripple with a smile. "i'm going to go to the warriors den soon." he mreowed stiffly. never had he been good at lying. but this was a good lie.

riverstone nodded gratefully. "that it would be really nice! as soon as i leave the nursery ill be sure to hunt the best prey for you." though it came out jokingly, she silently told herself to do just that.
