the deserted view of australia was directly in jon's sight through the plane window. it had been about a seven-hour flight from america, and he was sleeping pretty much the entire time. with an exasperated yawn, the young man clicked his tongue. he rose from his seat to grab his carry-ons once the lady beside him made it to the isle. he slung the duffel over his arm and threw on a pair of aviators, shuffling his way through the isle and hall. after entering the airport, jon walked over to the baggage claim to take whatever was left, then waited for his companion to join him. he didn't know much about them, other than the fact that they were both assigned to search for a certain relic that neither of them had much information about. but jon liked adventure as much as any curio would.

Pressure had built up in Piper's head, it wasn't throbbing, but she was definitely uncomfortable. She had pulled her hair back into a ponytail to keep it from sticking to her neck - even inside the air conditioned building the heat was getting to her. Blonde. She thought, Thats all I know about my partner for this mission... A disgruntled sigh escaped her chest, why could this never be easy? Careful hands snatched her duffle bag of the conveyer belt and swung it over her shoulder, chocolate eyes scanning the other flyers gathering their things. We'll it must be one of these people, unless they came by boat. They should have specified a meeting place, but by that logic they could have been given information about the relic they were searching for. What a hand she'd been dealt. Turning away from the luggage area Piper looked around, might as well eat before looking for a stranger. In the vicinity was an older looking woman and a man about her age, she approached the latter. "Excuse me, do you know where the food court is?" She asked politely, a tentative look in her eye.

jon's head snapped over to a girl approaching, and he exchanged a glance over to the older woman he was standing beside. was she talking to her? the young man listened to the girl's question, wetting his lips. he pointed to an area on the other side of the boarding entrance, where flashing signs and a scatter of people were located. "over there," he replied, flashing the girl an unreadable look. it gave him a chance to better examine her features, and it made him wonder if this was the woman he was going work with. luckily, jon had gotten a name: piper finn, and it looked as though she fit the description they'd given him. he put his hand down, brows furrowing in thought as he kept his eyes on her. "are you piper finn?" he asked.

Piper had begun to thank the man and walk away when he said her name. This was either very convenient, or dangerous. She faced him again, tense brown eyes fixed on him. She was obviously suspicious, and thought about her response for a moment. In more normal situations of espionage she had a much better poker face, but he had taken her off guard. Nimble fingers clutched the strap of her bag, "That is my name. What business do you have knowing it?" There were a few possibilities: she may have dropped her passport, or used boarding pass, or something else with her name on it. But it was unlikely. He may have been the person the organization leader paired her with, or an enemy of that same organization.

jon was surprised that he had already found his ally. asking if it was her was a risky shot, but he made it through clean. he could tell that she was suspicious of the reasoning behind his question. clearing his throat, jon outstretched a hand. "i'm jonathon clarke. i believe i'm working with you on obtaining the ancient relic." he pursed his lips, gaze briefly wandering off before finding their way back to piper. "i have to admit, i wasn't expecting to find you so soon." he offered a charming smile, in hopes to clear the air.

Skeptically, Piper took his hand and shook it. "I believe you're working with me too, Jonathan." She replied awkwardly, releasing his hand from her own. She tried to make her suspicions subside, it was a small airport, and they were destined to meet eventually. "Yeah, that was way less painless than I imagined." She added, her features lightening slightly. It generally wasn't good practice to discuss...work... in the open. "Well, should we get something to eat before finding somewhere to stay for the night?" She inquired after a lull.

jon nodded, taking a few steps forward. "sure. anything you had in mind?" the young man's quirk of a smile grew before it fell, as he shuffled further over to the food court, stopping to wait for piper. he wasn't a picky man. give him a few scraps of food and he'd be happy. so whatever she decided on he'd be more than happy to get for himself.
