"I'm sorry I frightened you, it's been a hard day." Sammy opened the fridge. "We have a nice steak in here... would you be interested in that?" He offered gently.
"It's okay..." she said quietly, "S-sure... I'm not sure what steak is, but it sounds good." Alessa felt a bit guilty for sneaking into the kitchen to look for food.
Sammy pulled the steak out of the fridge as well as some butter for the pan. He took out the frying pan and put it on the stove, reaching to turn it on. "You might want to go to the other room," He warned her, stopping himself.
Alessa turned right around and went to her room. She didn't even want to hear the stove click for the gas to ignite. She shut her door quietly and began to draw.
Sammy cooked the steak and set the table. He went upstairs to Alessa and Margaret's room and quietly knocked on the door. "Dinner's ready, Alessa." He said quietly.
Alessa put away her things and got up with Scarlett. She left her room and walked downstairs. The pup sat in her seat, then looked at the steaks. "What exactly are steaks?" she asked quietly.
"It's pretty much a cooked cut of meat." Sammy brought the steak over on a cutting board, with one smaller slice cut off for Alessa. He placed the board in front of them and took the larger piece.
"What kind of animal is it from?" she asked softly. Alessa picked up her fork and poked the steak before trying to cut it with her fork. She quickly figured out that she couldn't cut it with just a fork.
"It's beef, but it's not from any of my cows." Said Sammy, cutting the steak with his knife. "I got it at the supermarket the other day." He took a bite and swallowed, realizing Alessa was struggling to cut the meat. "Do you need help?" He offered.
