Lexa got in and strapped on her seat belt. She tosed her bag on the back seat and rolled her eyes. "Oh no. Don't tell me your one of those people who's always chipper in the morning and makes everyone want to kill them but continue doing it anyways. I don't think we'd get along well if you are. I hate morning people." She turned on the radio and searched for her station. Once she heard Autolux's "Audience No. 2", she smiled a bit and leaned back. "I'll have whatever, since you're set on getting me something. I'm not a picky eater," she told him, watching the scenery pass by.

"I'm definitely a morning person," he admitted. "But I don't think I'm too obnoxious about it. Do you think I am?" He pulled into a gas station, and parked. Curtis grabbed his wallet from his glove box, and waited to hear a response form Lexa. "Cause uh, I can change that if its really a problem."

Lexa glanced at Curtis. "Relax. I'm just kidding. I've seen worse." She undid her seatbelt, opened the door, and got out. She waited for Curtis at the front of the car, watching the people go in and out uneasily.

Curtis slid out of the car and walked over to her. "Alright, lets go." He wasn't as nervous as her, but he could detect it.
He gave her a questioning look, but didn't directly asked. He knew exactly where to go in the store. As he said, he grabbed a hot chocolate and a blueberry muffin and waited for Lexa near the checkout line.

Lexa flicked her gaze from one side to the other, watching everyone who went near her. Checking to she if she knew them and if they were going to make any sudden movements. There, that woman down the aisle. She recognized her, she worked with her father. Lexa ducked around the corner when the woman turned towards her. Heart panting loudly, she slipped out of the store quickly and went around the store's corner. She had seen Curtis lock his car, so she didn't hide there. Lexa back away, making sure that she was out of sight. She hoped desperately that the woman hadn't seen her.

Curtis frowned as he waited; he hadn't seen Lexa in a while. He decided to grab her hot chocolate and a muffin too. He purchased his food, and to his demise he didn't see her near the car. Maybe she just decided to walk to school? He unlocked his car and sat in it. Curtis turned the car on, and began to back out of his parking space.

Lexa panicked when she heard a car engine start. She didn't know whether it was Curtis' car or someone else's. She didn't want to look, though, since checking would bring her into view. The woman could see her. Lexa didn't want to be stranded her. She didn't really know how to get to school from here, since she never came this way.

Curtis just so happened to round around the corner she was hiding behind. He slowed his car down and eventually came to a stop a few feet away from her. He rolled down his window. "I thought you had left??" He said to her. "If you still want a ride, hop in."
Curtis parked and unlocked the doors and waited for her to hop in.

Lexa was so relieved when Curtis stopped the car and saw her. She darted inside the car quickly and did up her seatbelt. Her heart was racing in her chest and she ducked her head in case the woman was to see her. "Drive."

Curtis pulled out of the parking lot quickly. He felt her panic too, because of the markings. "So what's going on? Why am I speeding away like we're getting shot at?" There was both humor and seriousness in his voice. "Of course I don't mind getting you out of a bad situation if that was the problem. I'm sorry. I still grabbed you a snack. I hope you like blueberry muffins and hot chocolate."
