Lucas stood up, looking at the girl. He then took her hand in his. "Would you like to take a walk with me?" He asked her, not caring if he would get yelled at by his parents. The girl nodded, and she started walking beside him.

She walked into the village, the civilians giving her strange looks. She didn't regret her decision though, she continued on with a small smile. She clasped her hands together in front of her.

Lucas stopped walking for a moment, and then he kneeled down, letting the girl sit on his shoulders. He balanced her there so it would be easier for him to maneuver. He then went into the woods, wandering happily.

She breathed in deeply feeling slight claustrophobia but dealt with it as she glanced at the small houses that lined the village street, they were decent, but she felt her parents could have provided them with better homes than they had. She sighed.

"Wait... That's the princess!" she heard a woman squealed.

Then everything went silent and she stood still.

After some time of walking, he heard someone approaching him from behind. He didn't turn around, not thinking that it would be anyone important.

"Lucas!" He heard an angry voice say, and after he turned around he saw that it was his father.

Lucas instantly slid the young girl off of his shoulders, and he kept her behind him. "Yes, father?" He replied.

"How dare you go against my wishes? Sneaking out, and then mingling with the civilians?" His father said, grabbing his arm angrily and pulling him back towards the castle. "I thought you were better than this!"

"Ah... No I'm not," she winced,"I must get going..."
She began back towards the castle, beginning to run her shoes clicking against the stone that lined the path, once she got to the gates she quietly opened them going back into the castle with a deep sigh, instead of a frown a smile creasing her lips.

Lucas winced; his father's grip was hard and it hurt. He looked back at the young girl, and she was following them. Good, she would be able to get back to the village. When his father had pulled him back to the palace, he brought Lucas to his room and locked him in so that he couldn't leave.

She glanced at the guards who gave her a nod.

Skip to like an hour or so before the ball....

Lucas had been locked in his room for a while now, and he was utterly bored out of his mind. When he heard the door handle rattle he perked up, and he smiled as the tailor came in with his suit. His parents were trailing behind him. The tailor gave him the suit, and Lucas nodded in thanks. "I love it, thank you." He said. The tailor just nodded, scampering out of the room.

His parents were dressed already and were ready to go. "Get changed and then meet us outside... we'll be waiting in our carriage." His father said and then turned and left him alone.

Her parents had spoken to her that she was to greet all the royals to the ball, she groaned when they said that and they gave her disappointed looks. They then told her to get changed, and that was all she had heard from them since at least a half an hour ago. She was in her dress and her maids were doing her hair and makeup for her, again shifting every moment, the maids needing to completely redo it because they had ruined something. She sighed, her parents had also ordered her to wear her crown which was a pain in the butt, it squeezed her head so tightly and hurt her ears really bad. But she was to deal with it. Her hair was pulled up into a bun with curls along the side of her face, then she suddenly felt something sharp poke her head and she winced.

"Sorry princess," the maid spoke as she tried to fit her crown on her head so that it was at a point where it looked suitable.
