Technically, that had been a lie. But he hadn't wanted to scare her, for she didn't get to go out too often. What had really happened was a man had chased him with a dagger all the way back to his castle, and had cut him before he had gotten in, but he wouldn't dare tell her that.

"Are you telling the truth?" the words suddenly popped out of her mouth as she bit her lip.

Lucas didn't know how to respond. "I, uh...." He hesitated, then sighed. "No, I'm not, but it's unimportant."

She nodded hesitantly,"That stutter was very suspicious, but I won't bother because you said it wasn't important..." She laughed.

He shrugged a little. "Yeah... not important...." He repeated himself a little. "But, for the most part, having free roam of the kingdom is nice."

She sighed,"I bet, I would love to have that freedom..."

"I wish I could grant you that...." He trailed.

"Hm?" her gaze turned to him her eyebrows raised, she had been in her own little world for a few seconds before he had said something.
