"honestly? no. i think soulmates are such a special thing. why would you want to live in a world without them?" juno said as he sat down. he smiled fondly when his friend mentioned traveling the world. "that's awesome cliff. we could go together!" he said. clifford looked... really attractive? his smile switched to a sad one because he knew his best friend would only ever want his soul mate. never him.

Cliff ordered pancakes with chocolate chips. No butter or syrup: the usual. "I think soul mates are cool but like. I feel like we should be able to make our own decisions." He sighed softly. "Juno, I know who my soul mate is and I don't know how to feel about it... It's nobody I ever expected, and... Well, I'm not gay."

juno ordered some hash browns and some eggs. "i agree that people shouldn't be first but.. the other person should know. they should atleast tell them.. oh you do? juno that's amazing! who is it? well.. i don't think it matteres if your gay or not. just if you love them." he said. he was excited to know who cliffs soulmate was. but also a tad bit jealous? the person that got to be cliffs soulmate was lucky.

"You didn't even noticed your tattoo is finally finished, did you?"Without saying anything, Cliff slid off his jacket, and he was wearing a short sleeved shirt underneath. The tattoo was finished: a beautiful oak tree covering it. "I don't know what to do, Juno. I don't think I have those feelings for you. I think I want to go to a specialist."

juno was silent. his eyes not leaving cliffs arm. his head slowly falls so he's starring at his lap. "o-oh." he said. he tried not to cry. he really did. but a tear rolled down his cheek. "i.. i do. have those feelings for you. sorry i'm not... the soulmate you wanted." he said and tried to wipe his eyes but failed. the tears kept coming.

Cliffords eyes widened with surprise. "Juno I had no idea... I'm sorry." He watched his friend cry, unsure of what to do.
"I told myself in the car I would be willing to try this. And I'm keeping that promise. I still want to go see somebody about it, because I'm curious to see how two friends so close got matched..." Cliff felt like a jerk.

juno stood up. he looked almost angry. "i don't want you to be with me because you feel obligated or you pity me. i want you to be with me because you love me like i love you." he cried. "i-i should go. ill walk home." even though it was the middle of the night, freezing, and the apartment he lived in was over 6 miles away he didn't care. im such an idiot.. thinking somebody like him would be friends with somebody like me. still crying he turned to walk out.

He frowned, obviously knowing he messed everything up. "I'm just scared, Juno." Cliffords voice cracked. "I'm scared, and confused, and I don't know what to do. I've never been in a relationship. Let alone with my soul mate." He looked up, searching for any sort of reaction. The waiters and waitresses had strayed away from the table, watching with curious eyes from a distance. "Please don't go."

juno froze. he turned around and locked eyes with cliff. "i am your best friend. soulmates or not, i love you. if... you need me to stay i will." dammit, he was so selfish. only thinking about himself. of course cliff would be hurting too. he walked back over and sat down, taking a deep breath. "if you decide you don't want to be with me.. that's okay." he said sadly.
