the sound of spencer's alarm had caused noble to jump. his blue-colored eyes turned to greet his brother. "no." he didn't bother to emphasize on the reply. the son of apollo adjusted his quiver's belt, pulling it flush against his chest. "i suppose i just wasn't very tired last night." noble had went without dinner and had been in bed by nine the previous night. he had been more so mentally exhausted and hadn't been up another minute once he had laid down. come five am, noble had been up and ready to go. noble's gaze turned back to his bed. he had left the bed in a disarray. noble pulled one of the blankets off, folding it up quickly and placing it on the end of the bed. he grabbed another, folded it, and then placed it with the other. "since you're up," noble went on. he fluffed the pillows a bit before placing them over the folded blankets and pushing them to stand against the wall. "you interested in some archery practice? breakfast is at eight so we have some time to kill."

spencer watched noble for a moment, before slipping off to get dressed. "yeah, sounds good," he mumbled, stifling a yawn. he slipped past waking campers (more like fully awake, bright eyed bushy tailed campers), quickly changing. same old clothing, most everything a borderline boring white or brown, but not complete without something almost outrageously bright, like an orange sweater. the sun was bright, yet deceiving, since it'd be chilly for another hour or so yet. he hated the cold (not surprising), but probably ironically hated the morning, almost everyone in the apollo cabin were already flying out the door, with few stubborn siblings trying to avoid the morning. "ready when you are," spencer mumbled, now waiting by noble again, probably at least 10% more awake then before.

a few small nods and short goodbyes and noble was ready to leave. following his siblings, he waved a small gesture to spencer. a sign he was ready to go. noble led the way out into the area where the cabins were situated in the shape of a greek "Ω" omega. several campers were already out and about. a few exited from the hephaestus cabin while others filed around the exits of the hermes cabin were some were joking around. a soft yawn billowed from noble. "so where do you want to practice?" noble questioned spencer. the black-haired boy glanced back to settle on his half-brother. "we could try out in the southern woods near the pegasus stables" he placed his hands into his pockets. "near zeus's fist. or, of course, the archery field."

im heading to bed. i'll reply when i get home tomorrow.

spencer stared off in the general directions of the stables and archery field. he wasn't feeling the archery field, it was almost always occupied in the morning, and he wasn't up for dodging around tall people half awake, early in the morning. "stables sounds good." he replied, watching everyone shuffle off to their usual spots.

the archery field seemed like the proper place to practice archery. however, the field was nearly always packed. furthermore, it was the same route. anyone whom practiced there aimed their arrows at some dummy a couple feet, perhaps further. it was always nice to be placed in a different scene where something was always bound to appear. the woods, for example, was crawling with danger despite the golden fleece that hung limply in the branch of a tree up on half-blood hill. he was a daredevil, what could he say. "say no more." noble turned down the path away from the cabins. the worn-out dirt path led down towards the pegasus stables. the forest's outline shined just beyond the stables as the two sons of apollo approached. "you know what? we should try archery on horseback."

spencer watched the pegasus for a moment, then met noble's gaze, a smile growing on his face. "now that sounds good," he agreed. funny he never really thought of that, a whole year and he barely scratched the surface of archery. it was a particularly fun challenge, though learning to shoot multiple arrows was one thing, learning to shoot even one arrow on the back of a horse would be something else. spencer approached the pegasus, stopping just a few paces away from them, when one turned to look at him and whinnied, a light brown pegasus, maybe slightly younger then the rest of them? and female. it wasn't something he'd go ahead and admit, but he found them somewhat intimidating, really just because of the size. a bit of struggling and he found himself on the back of the pegasus,

noble let out a soft chuckle. "i'm glad." he teased more so under his breath as he followed spencer. the pegasi stables was quite large with pegasus ranging different shapes, sizes, and colors. noble was never really one to hang around the pegasi either. the smell of horses and dirt left a bitter taste in his mouth. still, he enjoyed the thrill of having such a powerful creature at his side. not to mention some pegasi were rather loyal to their demigod half. picking a random pegasus poking his head out of one of the stalls, noble quickly pulled him out. he adjusted his bow and quiver before leaping onto the horse's back with ease. a simple bit and reins all that was on the pegasus, noble gently gripped the reins and turned to pegasus to the exit of the stables. "you ready?"

"uh huh," he replied, steering the pegasus out of the stables. funny how he'd been hitting moving targets all this time and yet he never thought about moving and shooting. his pegasus lined up with noble's, the sounds of the campers melted into the background and were quickly replaced by the snaps and crunches of sticks and plants underfoot. "what direction are we going?" spencer glanced at his half brother.

/gah my muse dropped for a while im sorry for the late response

the white pegasus let out a soft nicker. it tossed his head back, white and black-mixed hair throwing back into noble's face. the son of apollo pushed the wavy hair out of his face. his fingers plucked absentmindedly at his tongue. his blue eyes searched the tips for stray hairs that might have managed to coat his face. when he found none, the boy shrugged. "west" noble answered. he tightened his hand upon the reins and with a small click of his heels, the pegasus started off. its wings fluttered, brushing against the sides of the stable doors before falling back to its side. noble and the white pegasus cantered after spencer. the sound of campers soon faded. the sunshine that glowed over the clearing of the camp disappeared and the sound of crunching sticks and birds crying overhead was all he could pick up. some time passed for the sight of a small creek appeared. "take a right" noble pulled the pegasus to go around spencer. the pair slowed to cross the zephyros creek before picking up the pace as they begun to gallop northwest. it must have been just after seven when the small hill with tall rocks appeared in sight. zeus' fist.

spencer gazed at zeus's fist for a moment, eyebrows furrowed. "weird how we just, see fists in rocks." he commented, pulling his bow off his shoulder. aside from the birds, it was quiet, and nothing yet roamed. keyword being yet, because from personal experience, as soon as two lone half-bloods were hanging around, everything was awful eager to get up and take a look, early morning or not. spencer scanned the area, every bush and tree, the stones, yet not even the actually normal things seemed to be poking around, he knew for sure at least squirrels would be poking around. bring up his concern, or pretend its just because its early?
