Ashton sighed, sitting back down. He looked intently at the Slytherin boy, exhaling softly. "I- okay," he stumbled over his words, fully intimidated knowing that he had offended the other boy. As he grabbed his hand to avoid the patting, Ashton realized not everyone was as touchy and bubbly as he was, and something about that set him off. He wasn't angry, just upset. Because in his eyes, everyone was bubbly unless something happened. Unless something major happened to make you refrain from being bubbly and touchy.

At the mention of people hating his own house, he simply furrowed his eyebrows before relaxing and smiling. "Sometimes we're too friendly," he giggled, "Or we don't know when to shut up. I'm really guilty of that one. We tend not to know peoples boundaries either."

He bit the inside of his cheek, anxious. Not entirely sure why he was anxious, he brushed it to the side, looking down at the ground. The smaller Hufflepuff boy looked at Jaxon and furrowed his eyebrows, once again attempting to figure him out.

jaxon almost didn’t notice the others reaction to how he had pushed his hand away. Almost. He did notice it however, but choose not to say anything at the moment. He just didn’t like being super touchy with strangers , though he was aware the other wouldn’t have known that. If they had been closer it would have been fine, but they barely knew each other......

He was baffled when the other smiled while explain why others didn’t like hufflepuffs but in all honestly it didn’t sound all that bad to him. Yeah it might be annoying at times but he couldn’t imagine people having an entire house for those little things. He shook his head though and turned to check the cauldron. ”Well.... you shouldn’t let what others say stop you from being that friendly. It’s not a bad thing, though I have a feeling I sound like a hypocrite right now......” he stated as he saw the brew was done and poured some of it into a cup he conjured, handing the cup to Ashton a moment later.
