        ──────── ✧ ORDYN BRISBANE !!
xxxif abby hadn't interrupted them, jordyn might have possibly served a punch in response to his little nickname. princess. when he had stepped closer to her, closing the only gap between them, she had sucked her breath in and glared up at him. he was much taller than her, but she didn't let that faze her. her heartbeat had quickened again, but not out of nerves, but actually out of shortening temperament. jordyn felt as if she could explode at any minute, heat rushing to her cheeks. with her arms still crossed, jordyn began to dig her nails into her palms, attempting to hold back every urge she had to deck in him his pretty face. shivers were sent all over her body, feeling her breathing and words against her neck, near her ear. jordyn understood exactly what he was trying to do - well, two could play at that game. just as she opened her mouth though, abby stumbled in and broke it.

xxxin that moment, jordyn wanted to disappear. she knew from the gecko that this party idea was a bad idea - this wasn't her kind of scene, not anymore. she partly blamed herself, for setting herself up for this. if she really wanted to, she could slip away and go back home without saying anything; she doubted anybody would notice. but she cared for her friend too much, she also knew no one might not step up and help abby home, she couldn't take the chance. so instead, jordyn was going to be here with abby and a boy she wanted to burn. it was obvious they would all be together for a little, seeing as abby somehow knew them. how were they never brought up to her? surely, abby talks about everything with her - maybe she was just distracted when she did? now she felt like a bad friend for not listening more.

xxxhearing him call abby "babe" made her skin crawl. she found herself shooting a sharp glare toward him, silently warning him to back off. even though his tone of voice had completely changed, jordyn could still remember how sinister he had sounded moments ago. she kept her lips pressed together firmly as she watched the two share a one-sided hug, abby swaying around as well. as usual, jordyn found herself keeping her mouth shut and her words to herself. this wasn't the time nor the place to start anything, especially not with somebody she'd probably never see again. probably. as much as she wanted to believe that, deep down jordyn knew this wasn't going to be the only time. something about him drew her in, and she knew this was only the beginning. there was something about them, something to the point where their paths needed to cross. she knew she'd probably sound crazy, but it felt right - in a really messed up way.

xxxscoffing at his next set of words, jordyn began to shake her head. she could easily pick up on his tone, treating abby as if she was some kid he was babysitting. she knew the blonde was way over her limit of alcohol beverages, but that didn't mean she was a baby that required attention and help with absolutely everything. actually, now that she thought about it, that's exactly how it sounded - still, it didn't justify him. watching his hand drift to her friend's waist, jordyn had to hold back a snarl. how dare he. as the two began to walk away, jordyn still found herself staying put, processing. it wasn't that she didn't want to go, she just hadn't really noticed, as she was distracted by other problems - including him. also, it was hard to tell as they were surrounded by several people on all sides.

xxxcatching the nickname come out from his lips again is what got her attention. there it is again, and this time she wasn't going to let it slide, she wouldn't let him have the pleasures. she then picked up her feet and followed after this, her heels clicking against the hard floor as she did, but was drowned out by the music. "yes, only because I have no idea who you are and I can't trust you with my friend," she then told him, her eyes staring him down. that was half the truth, but she wasn't about to admit that. she walked close behind them, following his lead, as he knew who this vance guy was. jordyn definitely didn't, she'd never heard of the guy. but hell, if he was anything like his friend, she'd lose her mind. she could barely catch the words coming out of abby's lips, mainly because they were slurred and it was hard to hear over the music. oh well, as long as she wasn't saying anything stupid, it was probably fine. still walking, jordyn hoped they would find this guy soon.

xxxwatching abby pull away from the stranger for a quick moment to say hi to somebody, jordyn found her opening for conformation. quickly, she grabbed his wrist with a tight grip and partly turned him, pulling him closer to her as they were before. "let me get this straight, call me princess one more time and i'll slap that cute little smirk off your face. also, lay a finger on her again and I won't hesitate to break your finger. got it?" she explained, her voice still soft yet had a hint of darkness. she kept her grip on his wrist and held her eyes with his, hoping to get a point across. finally, she let him go and pushed him away, shoving past him to go toward abby again.

    ░░░LUKAS SINCLAIR!░░░░░░░░░░░░
xxxxxAs Lukas turned, beginning to walk off in some direction, practically carrying the poor girl that barely stood at his side, his lips turned up in a rather satisfied smirk, hearing the wolf girl's feet padding against the wooden floor behind him. He didn't bother looking back, momentarily shifting his mind from the girl to locating Vance. All signs pointed to the room adjacent to the one they were currently standing in, as it was much darker, much louder, and much more populated. Vance was a social creature by nature, and Lukas used this knowledge to figure that the guy was where the action seemed to be.
xxxxxLukas really didn't know why he let Vance talk him into these parties. Lukas was often left to babysit those who couldn't take care of themselves, or was stuck trying to get to know some pretty terribly misjudged first "dates", which almost always ended with Luke waving a hand and blowing out of the situation as quickly as possible. It was really quite odd that Vance and Lukas were even friends to begin with. The two had similarities obviously, both being on the college varsity lacrosse team and having similar courses each semester. But Vance was so interested in people, a subject that Lukas never really seemed to bother with. Of course Lukas had landed at this school for completely different reasons than his friend. Vance was here because this was the best school his dad could buy his son a ticket too, and Lukas was here to learn a few things, waste some time, and then quickly return to his pack. Lukas figured he kept Vance around because he was someone to talk to, but even then, there wasn't much that the two had in common. Still Vance seemed happy enough with the relationship, and so, Luke just played along with it.
xxxxxLukas was dragged back into reality when he felt the weight of the girl in his arms lean away from him, and then the girl behind him seemed to have taken the opportunity to grab his wrist. There was a decent amount of pressure, to which Lukas, figuring he would feed into her attempt to exert power, snapped his gaze to rest upon her eyes. She spoke with a cool confidence, and threw what seemed to be pretty empty threats at his face. Lukas stared blankly, figuring she wanted him to be submissive and take what she was serving. But that wasn't the game that he played.
xxxxx "Well then.." he clenched his jaw, becoming decreasingly amused. Who did this girl think she was?? Did she really think a slap would scare him out of speaking whatever damn words he pleased? That's not how this works. "You seem to not realize that you never gave me your name..." he felt like calling her a brat, but his art was much more mature than resorting to such words. His tone was increasingly dosed with venom. " and you're acting like your damn royalty, so obviously the natural choice was to address you with your rightful title. Obviously, i was mistaken.." he paused, quickly twisting his wrist so that it evaded her grasp, pulling his arm back into his own personal space "... your highness.." he finished, tone dripping with sarcasm as his sea green irises shot daggers into her porcelain skin.
xxxxxHe gritted his teeth, involuntarily tilting his head to the side, cracking his neck to relieve the immense tension in his muscles. He leaned down, quickly darting his own hand out to grip her wrists, exactly as she had done to him. "And if you try to throw another empty threat in my face?" he growled, eyes igniting her body on fire. " I won't hesitate to rip you to pieces." His grip on her soft skin became stronger, more constricting. "And that's a promise." he flicked her wrist away from him, immediately straightening his posture. Keeping eye contact with the girl, he deliberately grabbed Abby and held her closer, before smirking once more and walking into the room he had been heading towards previously.
xxxxxThe tension in the room was suffocating. That girl just so damn infuriating. He admired her fire, and she was certainly a worthy opponent, but damn. Obviously he wasn't actually planning on tearing her to pieces, although if she really did slap him, which he was beginning to believe that she has slapped many people, that would be a whole different story. He wondered how much control she had over her shift, whether she could easily move between human and wolf, or if it still caused her pain. She seemed to be just about his age, and so obviously she has had to at least shifted once. Lukas' parents encouraged him to shift often, insisting that the immense pain that came with it would fade to tolerable and then only slight discomfort would ensue. It was something that he was thankful for, being that he knew of several pack members who only seldom shifted, when it was absolutely necessary, because the searing pain was just too much to bear.
xxxxxLukas pushed through more people, pulling Abby so that she was walking in front of him, partly so she wouldn't get distracted by any more people, and party because he didn't want the princess to try anything again. Luke was slightly hurt by the fact that the girl didn't trust him with Abby, especially since he obviously had known her. But then again, if Luke was in her situation, he also wouldn't trust the girl to be alone with the guy that he has so far come off as. Lukas often found himself starting first encounters off on the wrong foot, and this situation with the wolf girl was no different. What was intriguing was that she didn't seem to be too phased by his off-putting behavior, and he wondered where she had acquired such a blind disregard for threats like the ones he was throwing at her.
xxxxxAt last, Lukas pinpointed that awful cologne from before, and with it, his eyes landed upon the familiar tufts of sandy blond that could only belong to his friend's big head. Moving with urgency, Lukas plowed through the remaining crowd that separated him from Vance and when he had gotten close enough, Abby seemed to recognize the boy. She then proceeded to run into his arms, to which Vance picked her up and spun her before setting her down.

        ──────── ✧ ORDYN BRISBANE !!
xxxtruthfully, jordyn probably could have said something more threatening. but she didn't, she decided to keep it on the less-crazy side. because for all she could know, this guy could take her words and spread rumors about her being some crazy chick or something. and that's the last thing she needed on her plate, fellow students whispering about her behind her back. she was already use to the nerd-y comments - she didn't need more. though, at this point, jordyn had kind of guessed this guy may be a loner or some type. otherwise, she would know of him. if you were considered a popular here, everybody knew you, one way or another. this guy, he was a complete stranger to her. he was not on the popular spectrum, not at this school. so who was he?

xxxlistening to his voice, the hairs on the back of her neck stood up. as he spoke, her grip tightened on his wrist and eyes stared intently. she could feel her nails digging into him but that didn't stop her - some kind of spark was igniting deep within her. growing up, jordyn had always blamed her aggressive behavior on her wolf side, cause that made sense to a ten year old. she couldn't count on her fingers the number of times she had been arrested back in high school for fighting at school, mostly because somebody would push the wrong buttons. just like he was doing now. the side he was slowly bringing out had been locked away for quite some time now, but now it was scratching to get out. a dangerous side, one that was unpredictable - even to her. as she got older, it was harder to blame her wolf heritage. because deep down, jordyn knew it was all her, and her alone. her mother was the sweetest person alive, she'd never hurt a fly, yet she was also a werewolf.

xxxafter he was finished, jordyn still kept still with her mouth sealed. it's not that she was speechless, she was just trying to control her anger. finally, she opened her mouth again, and replied with a simple: "screw you,". ultimately, she decided to keep her other words to herself, attempting to calm the fire that was started between them. though, it seemed as if it continued to roar - her attempt of water failing. honestly, jordyn didn't care enough to take his threat to heart, even if it was pretty vicious. because just like her's, it sounded like an empty threat. to other people, they probably just sounded like a couple of idiots who were trying to scare each other. but jordyn knew better, there was something underneath the surface. there was something she would need to find out, but how?

xxxit's not like she could walk up to him and straightforwardly ask if he was a werewolf. then who's the crazy person? surely, there was some kind of code between werewolves that could help. if there was - she definitely wouldn't know. she was just the little wolf girl who's lived in human society her entire life. hell, wolf packs would probably be ashamed of her - just like they were of her parents. she didn't know her other half, the wolf was still partly a stranger. her parents wouldn't allow her to explore it, they claimed it was too dangerous. they ensured that human life is the safest life, and that its what is best. at the time, she believed them; until now. watching him walk away, jordyn saw a glimpse of her other life in him. the life she never had a chance for.

xxxseeing as he still continued to mess her with by grabbing her friend and bringing her closer to him, jordyn knitted her brows in frustration. it was now she wished she could drag him outside or an empty room, away from prying eyes, and put him into his place. but she couldn't, not like this. she walked after them, staying close by while also constantly looking around. walking through the crowd made her feel claustrophobic - people were literally pressed up beside her and she had to duck away a few times to avoid getting alcohol split on her. she hated it, being touched by a bunch of drunk strangers. looking forward, she noticed the two ahead of her had picked the pace up, so jordyn matched it. the last thing she wanted was to lose them, especially with abby.

xxxfinally, after what seemed like ages, she followed them to a group where abby was pulled into a hug and spun around. raising an eyebrow, jordyn came and met the other wolf by his side. she kept her eyes on abby and the "friend", they seemed to be having a good interaction, unlike her's. "they seem.... comfortable?" she questioned, directing it toward the male beside her. he probably knew more than she did. part of jordyn felt left out: how could she not know about these guys from abby? maybe because all she did was stick a nose in her books, and never cared to meet new people. she then began to reflect on that, wondering if she should be more open - more social. at the same time, jordyn didn't want to be to separated from her studies. would if getting to involved with more people distracted her to the point where she messes up? or something happens that messes her emotions up - thats something she didn't want to handle.

xxxletting out a slow breath, jordyn began to chew on her bottom lip, out of habit. watching the two talk and laugh, she knew this wasn't going to be the last time. her and the male beside her would have more interactions, since it seemed like both their best friends were also good friends. that made a connection, a connection jordyn was going to have to deal with. "by the way," she began, turning her blue gaze toward him and away from the other two. "jordyn, my name. it's jordyn," she finished, her voice not as direct and harsh as before. though, she could easily go back to that if he pushed her again.

    ░░░LUKAS SINCLAIR!░░░░░░░░░░░░
xxxxxLukas found himself rolling his eyes as the girl commented on Vance and Abby's interaction. He began to ponder why he hadn't met this girl before? Why hadn't she been at a party he's been forced to attend if she was so close to Abby? Didn't girls travel in packs to all social events? Lukas glaced at the girl standing next to him, feeling obligated to make the situation a bit clearer. "Your girl abby? She's been obsessed with him since the first week of school. They've been kinda on and off, although i'm not quite sure where they stand now because neither of them really talk about it?" his tone was unsure, because he never really bothered to read into it. That was Vance's life, and it honestly wasn't very intriguing to Luke. Lukas questioned why Abby hadn't told this friend of hers about vance, figuring that an on again off again boy toy like hi would be all over every gossip filled conversation that left Abby's lips. Maybe the girl next to him wasnt that close to her? Maybe she was a new addition to Abby's life? Something was off. Something was weird. Why did nothing revolving around this girl make the slightest amount of sense?
xxxxxLukas took the opportunity to swipe a discreet side glance at the girl next to him, noticing she seemed to be biting her lip, something that he he could only figure to indicate she was thinking. The boy clenched his jaw, shifting his gaze to a now conversing Abby and Vance. This connection between the girl and Abby, along with himself and Vance could only mean that they'd unfortunately be seeing more of one another. Lukas was pretty off put by her equally quick temper to his own, all facts-that-indicate-she's-a-wolf put aside. He knew that having a person like that around him could only lead to inevitable conflict, and even potentially a full fledged fight. The thought of it all sounded quite exhausting, and he wasn't entirely sure he was up for dealing with this girl for a prolonged period of time. Still, figured it could be worse. At least she was very easy on the eyes.
xxxxxThe girl besides him spoke up, almost so subtly that he at first didn't quite catch it. . "jordyn, my name. it's jordyn," Lukas shifted his sea green irises away from the two before them, deciding whether or not to be a smart a** again. He figured they both had enough for the night, and with his mind having already been moving a mile a minute, to say he was worn out would be an understatement. " It's nice to meet you, Jordyn." he emphasized the use of her actual name, half because his fighting spirit wasn't quite done, and half because he wanted to demonstrate that the trivial nickname was to be tucked away for now. "Lukas Sinclair, people tend to call me Luke." he stated matter-of-factly. His tone had taken another shift, not nearly as antagonistic as it had been earlier. Maybe playing nice wouldn't be as hard as originally intended?
xxxxxLuke then returned his gaze to fix onto the two before them, before realizing that they had begun to dance with one another. As a correction, Lukas wouldn't consider it dancing, moreso a gentle sway to music that was clearly more upbeat then the pace they had chosen, and Abby seemed to be relishing a moment in which she could relax for a minute or two. At this point, Lukas could have definitely bid farewell and bolted for the exit, but he figured Jordyn wouldn't be leaving without Abby, and so he took the opportunity of calm waters to make a risky decision. "Soo.. uhh.." he began , frantically searching for the best words to use in such a strange set of circumstances. " You don't uhh, happen to.." he paused crossing out and rewriting at least five different possible sentences to speak. As the words threatened to spill from his lips, he quickly swallowed them, and opted for a back up plan. It wasn't like he could just say "you don't happen to be a werewolf right? that would be such a coincidence because,, so am i!!" Lukas took the pause in his words to look towards her, a faint smile peeking out from his stoic expression. " You don't get out much, do you?" he blurted, having panicked after having already paused the conversation for an increasingly awkward amount of time. "I just.. haven't seen you around, and you seem to be good friends with that one over there.." he lazily gestured his hand towards Abby. "And I figure I would have at least seen you once or twice around here if you were a regular." He fumbled on his words, only now realizing how truly distracted and out of it he was. Lukas forced the words that were burning at his throat down. This wasn't the time or the place to confront her about being a werewolf. And if he had done it now, she definitely would have slapped him.
xxxxxHe hoped she didn't take his odd, off hand question the wrong way. He wasn't implying that she was socially inept, just that she didn't favor this particular crowd. He himself would agree with that, in that these peoples were strangers, with strange behaviors that didn't quite make sense to him. He'd much rather be home, in his room, trying to make contact with his parents for the duration of another long and sleepless night, as he had originally intended to spend his time. but instead he was here, not by choice as usual, because he just couldn't learn how to say no to Vance. Lukas held his breath, hoping the clearly aggressive girl wouldn't take him the wrong way. But after the first impression they had both made on one another, he wouldn't be surprised if the next words that spill from her lips were soaked with poison.

        JORDYN BRISBANE ──
xxxlistening to him explain abby's and vance's situation, jordyn found herself even more lost than before. there was no way she had missed all that, is there? glancing toward abby, she wondered if they were as close as she had thought. "well, I can't speak for her, because I had no idea they were even a thing. hell, I had no idea you two even existed," she admitted, clenching her jaw. if only she had been more open and social, she could probably know all about them, and even met them sooner. but instead, here she was, new discoveries unfolding one after another. this is exactly why she didn't go out. during her high school days, she was much more of a social butterfly - she was at ever party imaginable. but than she registered into college, and her whole life took a new path. honestly, she couldn't explain it. she can't figure out why she turned from a party girl to a introvert so quickly. here, nobody would believe her if she said she was on the popular chain in high school.

xxxjordyn honestly wasn't expecting him to exchange the same hospitality toward her. not after the way she treated and talked to him. if anything, she was expecting him to smart off toward her again or something along those lines. if that was the case, he might just step over the boundary and really push her buttons. she hoped not, for the sake of them both. this wasn't really the ideal place for her to go off on somebody - especially somebody her best friend seemed to be good friends with. she then realized this was somebody she was going to have to tolerate, for a long time, in respects of her friend. this wasn't just about her anymore, this was much bigger now. jordyn would need to do what would make her friend happy, and not only that. this mysterious stranger could be only ticket in learning more about her wolf side. evenutally, she'd find a way to figure him out and get help.

xxxso when he told her his name, and his tone didn't come out as sinister like it did before - she was caught off guard. she was actually surprised, but also relieved. though, she did catch the small emphasis he used on her name; but it only made another small smirk spread across her lips. she had said his name a few times in her head, trying to see if she recognized it in any way, shape, or form. but that deemed false, as she couldn't pinpoint it anywhere. and for a werewolf, she had a pretty good memory - especially with her photographic one. turning her attention back to him, she then nodded. "it's a pleasure, luke," she stated, a slight purr coming out followed by a playful smile. jordyn had several different ways of her spitfire attitude - hothead, playful, and even a teasing one. they all came out at appropriate times. this moment, maybe was one. jordyn then proceeded to turn away, taking another drink from the red cup she still had in her hand.

xxxas lukas began to speak again - well, tried to - jordyn kept her gentle gaze fixated on abby and vance. who were now swaying together around the crowded dance floor: both very, very drunk. despite the loud booming music that surrounded them, and luke's slightly low voice, jordyn could easily make out every word he said. it did help that they were in good distance of each other, but her wolf skills were definitely more helpful. she found herself nibbling on the rim of the plastic cup - out of boredom? maybe, she couldn't be sure. it seemed like if you weren't drunk at a party, it was close to no fun. so far, the only adrenaline-filled and fun events she's endured at this damned place were those heated arguments between herself and lukas. part of her wanted to walk out, leave, find something else to do. but she knew she couldn't do that, not with abby like this.

xxxhearing his question, that almost seemed like a last resort, jordyn brought the cup away from her lips. she remained silent as she began to roll it around in her mind. she wasn't sure if she should be offended, could she be? because he was absolutely right. he then proceeded to try and save himself, making her scoff lightly and smirk. he had a point - how could she be such good friends with such an outgoing girl? since she was almost the complete oppsoite, it didn't make sense for them to be friends. jordyn had figured luke was holding out on her, he was hiding something. so he had blurted something else out without really thinking his words. sounded exactly like her: doing before thinking.

xxxwetting her lips, jordyn turned toward him and nodded. "you could say that," she began, chewing on her bottom lip again momentarily. "I'm a med student, so I'm usually cooped up in my dorm. I study, a lot. in fact, pretty sure this is the first college party I've been to since registering here," she explained, shrugging her shoulders a bit. jordyn had never had shame in explaining herself, there was nothing to lie about. if people wanted to judge her and call her some weirdo - go for it. she could care less what they thought. "I don't have very many friends, actually, abby is my only one. I don't make an effort in making friends," she continued, glancing toward abby again before bringing her attention back to lukas. it was one of those things where she didn't make the time for friends, they would usually let her down anyways.

xxx"what about you, hotshot? I know I don't get out much.... but I still have my walks around campus and so on. how come I've never heard of you?" she asked, deciding to return the question. jordyn resisted the urge of stepping closer, but instead crossed her ankles. there was only one way that she was going to figure him out - and that was by asking questions, direct ones. there was no way she could straightforwardly ask if he was like her, so this would do. she then began to debate telling her parents - would be too soon? jordyn knew they'd freak out, so maybe this was one she'd keep to herself. just until she knew for sure.

    ░░░LUKAS SINCLAIR!░░░░░░░░░░░░
xxxxxLukas nodded as the girl explained that she didn't know of either his or Vance's existence. He wasn't shocked to learn that she had never heard of him, for their paths must have never crossed before this particular semester had started. It made sense, as her field of study, medicine, was vastly different than his. That, and Luke wasn't exactly a social butterfly, Of course, it wasn't like he was outright socially inept, but he just tended to prefer a quiet dorm building to himself and his own thoughts as opposed to drinking alcohol that wouldn't even make him drunk, and suffer as those who were most definitely taken by the effects of alcohol practically stumble over him. A prime example of what he didn't like to happen would be tonight, as he already had to deal with a crazy girl, a drunk, and hunting down Vance. Although he had to admit, it was surely a great distraction from his increasingly torturous cycle of worrying about his parents, deciding to go find them, realizing it's a bad idea and around and around again. His general behavior when it came to social get togethers could better be explained in the sense that he wasn't a moth drawn to the flames as his other friends were. While his friends were drawn to parties, Lukas found himself being indifferent towards such trivial parties. He'd find a way to somewhat enjoy the situations he found himself in when dragged along by his peers, of course, but it wasn't like he was actively seeking these kinds of situations.
xxxxxAs Jordyn explained as to why she didn't show up to parties, she almost sounded defensive. The tone she used was a bit off putting, causing for Lukas to crack his neck in order to relieve some of the tension crawling up his spine. Maybe you're just uncomfortable in social situations, and you're too scared to admit it. He felt like saying, before remembering that he was making an attempt to be civil. There was just something so frustrating about this girl. He couldn't tell if he wanted to tell her off, uttering every unpleasant thought that came to mind when he looked at her, or if he wanted to grab her face and press his lips against hers. His sea green irises flickered to her face then, watching as her soft lips pronounced every word that she was speaking. This girl talked about herself as if she was something special, but all Lukas really got was self absorbed, entitled, and pretty aggressive from the half an hour or so that they have been together. And yet, he wanted to know more. Any other person that would have given this impression would be one that Lukas would leave in the dust only minutes after interacting and yet, here he was, struggling to make conversation after she had threatened to slap him. What a weird day this was.
xxxxxHe began to doubt that she was anything but a wolf, being that many wolves display similar behaviors to the one she had already clearly demonstrated when they find themselves in human form, and the short temper only supported his deduction. But this common behavior was found in younger children, those who have yet to really get comfortable with their shift and their singular identity given that they had two different bodies. Jordyn was strange, as she seemed to radiate power, yet seemed so unable to grasp it, so unable to channel this power into appearing more comfortable, more calm. r of course, he could be completely wrong. Maybe she has chosen to be this way, maybe she was completely in control. But why so seemingly inexperienced and desperate to prove herself? Where had Jordyn been hiding for all these years that she had not learned how to control her naturally short temper? Of course, Lukas wasn't very good at controlling his either, but he had made great progress from where he had begun. It was common for a young Luke to actively look for trouble, starting a fight over every insignificant thing just so he could get to fight someone else and prove how powerful he was. It was a phase that all young wolves often went through, and the behavior displayed by the girl before him almost reminded him of his younger self, desperate to prove something. He admired the fire that burned in her eyes.
xxxxxThen, she proceeded to address him as hot shot once more, only adding fuel to the fire. Lukas clenched and unclenched his fists, momentarily squeezing his eyes shut in a desperate attempt to ward off the oncoming headache. She seemed to be equally as interested in him, which gave him something to focus on. Himself. Why hadn't the two seen each other? How was he to know? "I figure we probably have completely different schedules. I'm definitely taking a lot more classes in the social sciences and arts buildings, being that I am pursuing a psychology degree, and you're on a medical path." he reasoned moreso to himself, but out loud for her to hear as well. " I also tend to spend a lot of time in my room, and I visit my parents every weekend they're available." he spoke matter of factly, no trace of dishonesty in his tone. He took the opportunity to whip up a new, slightly more invasive question. He was tired of tiptoeing around what they both knew they wanted to hear. He was almost completely convinced by now that she was just like him. And he was too mentally drained to play the waiting game. "So, where are you from?" He inquired, looking to her as he asked the question so he could read any body movement that could indicate whether or not she was telling the truth. At this point in his education, he was beginning to hone in on involuntary behavior that indicates someone is making a lie up in their head, and so he couldn't help but look at her intently, fully prepared to test her.

        JORDYN BRISBANE ──
xxxafter her small usage of the little nickname she had gave him, she could easily catch the irritation it struck with lukas. instead of feeling bad about it, jordyn actually smirked about it. it was exactly how she felt about the "princess" nickname he gave her; annoyed. usually, jordyn wasn't one to like whatever nicknames somebody bestowed upon her - she actually hated them. the only tolerable nickname she has heard is jorie - and even that was only spoken by her parents. when it came down to it, jordyn reminded herself that she could probably keep the name behind them - for now anyways. he had the decency to not call her princess, so she'd return it by not calling him hotshot any longer. that was unless he decided to piss her off again, because then she wouldn't care.
xxxjordyn began to listen intently as he explained his situation, answering her question. if they were being honest, it almost sounded like they were in the same boat as far as socializing went. they both spent a good amount of time in their rooms, whilst also focusing on their majors. at least that's what it sounded like. discovering that he was studying psychology, it made the girl tilt her head to the side ever-so-slightly. with that, she found herself raking both his facial and body details with her blue eyes, trying to help herself understand. he definitely didn't look like somebody who was interested in psychology or anything along those lines. but than again; who was she to judge? she didn't exactly fit the description of doctor material. here she was: at a college party, drinking, acting like hell in heels, and wearing a tight skirt and low-cut shirt. realizing this, jordyn tore her eyes away from him.
xxxclearing her throat, "psychology huh? I would've never guessed," she then replied. they probably had at least one class together - they had to. he had to be the guy from this morning in her first lecture, or maybe she was just imagining things now? no, it was definitely him. the way he stared at her now, felt exactly like the eyes from eariler. she almost felt the need to ask him about it, but also didn't want to sound weird or even stalker-ish. for that reason alone, she didn't ask - it was in the past now. maybe someday they could bring it back up, after things are cleared. whether they had any classes together or not, they didn't know each other. not until now. jordyn began to question herself how that could've been possible; maybe if she had noticed his scent earlier and took it seriously, they'd know one another sooner? thinking of scent, she began to wonder how many times she had smelt the wolf scent amongst campus - not very many times.
xxxhis next question was something she'd hadn't expected, or maybe she should have. it was probably normal to ask fellow college students where they're originally from, but for some reason, hearing it come from his mouth; it threw her off. or maybe he was just trying to make smooth conversation, that way they could avoid going at each other's throats. seeing as vance and abby were still dancing and laughing, jordyn concluded they might be here awhile. so the best next thing was striking friendly conversation, or at least try to. if they really wanted to, they could probably separate and do their own thing. but if looked like luke wasn't going anywhere, therefore she wasn't either. maybe it was her curiosity keeping her glued beside him - her thirst to get to know him better, and find out if it was true. of course, jordyn would tell people that she only stayed with him because she was watching over abby, but they both knew that was a lie. one way or another, she was going to find out - because he was casting mysterious vibes. plus, there was some kind of energy that kept her there with him, she couldn't quite explain it. he was surely frustrating and would probably drive her nuts - but she also wanted something.
xxxshifting her weight from foot to foot, jordyn had ultimately decided to go with the truth of her home town. "berkshire, massachusetts," she answered, her eyes flickering slightly. if he was really a werewolf, and knew of packs, he would know a pack resided in the deep woods of berkshire. the same pack her parents had fled from, and jordyn was suppose to be a member of. jordyn had only met some members a number of times, as they usually avoided any human contact. she studied his reaction, desperately searching for some kind of hint or answers. at this moment, she had no idea how she was going to figure out if he was like her. she began to wonder if he was familiar with packs, or if he was apart of one. he had to, right? but than again - why would he be here if he was running with a pack? biting her lip, jordyn was beginning to wind herself up with all these questions. and of course, she couldn't say any of them out loud.
xxx"what about you, hm? city boy, or small town?" she questioned, bringing herself back. it was made sense for him to share the same question of privacy. plus, it could help her figure out more about him. remembering that he had mentioned visiting his parents' on weekends, jordyn figured he had lived nearby. looking over him again, she had guessed small town - just like her. at any time had he showed signs of city boy personality, he seemed rather reserved and independent. those could also be traits of a wolf boy who was raised in a pack of wolves. it sounded bizarre, but jordyn prayed that lukas was actually a werewolf. it could mean she wasn't alone, and could finally relate to somebody. even if that meant somebody who got on her nerves and would probably never stop pushing her buttons. it was better than nothing, and her best chance. she began to mentally shame herself for getting her hopes up.
xxxglancing over at the back door, part of jordyn wanted to rush to the outside. it was dreadfully hot in here, and way too loud. the outside air would probably feel refreshing on her skin, and they wouldn't have to worry about talking loudly. but she couldn't be certain if lukas would follow her, he might want to stay here with vance. deciding it didn't hurt to ask, she turned back to him, "do you wanna go outside? it might be better out here, i'm sure those two can take care of themselves for the time being," she stated, taking another look in the direction of their friends. if he did say no - it wouldn't be too much of a hassle, jordyn could handle the heat and the pressing of bodies against her every now and than. this wasn't exactly her ideal of situation, but it would have to do.

    ░░░LUKAS SINCLAIR!░░░░░░░░░░░░
xxxxxLukas flashed a lopsided grin her way when she commented that she wouldn't have guessed his major would be psychology. Sure, it was a pretty female dominated field of study at this point, and Lukas even recalled that one of his professors had once stated that just about seventy percent of the students taking her particular class were female, but that didn't mean that Lukas wasn't able to excel through the course. Vance always teased him that he was majoring in psychology just to meet more girls, which, in theory, would probably be a smart move for a guy with those motives, but Lukas was purely driven by a pursuance of knowledge. He'd never really been bothered by the smaller percentage of males anyway, as it didn't really have much of an effect on the way classes were run. He wondered if the subject of gender was even why she had been surprised, anyway. It could have been that their initial reaction lead her to some other path of study, but then again, he surely wouldn't have guessed that she was on a medical path, either.
xxxxx "What, you don't think a guy like me can hack it in a predominantly female occupied program?" he half joked, shoulders relaxing as he found himself easing into the conversation. Maybe she wasn't so bad, anyway? Maybe they were both just extremely bad at first impressions? Lukas shook his head, eyes running briefly across Vance and Abby's figures before returning to Jordyn once more. " Human behavior has always been pretty interesting to me.. It was a pretty easy choice for me when it came to declaring a major." He further explained, eyes lingering on her bare skin. Medical student? At a frat party? He was sure that it probably wasn't all too uncommon, but it just seemed so contradicting to popular belief. That wasn't the only odd thing about this girl, though. Her social behavior wasn't quite lining up with the outfit that adorned her body, one that screamed for attention, admiration. Lukas had vaguely taken note of it before, but after taking another look, he only became more perplexed. Lukas did his best to conceal any confusion that might have crept up on his facial features, only half enjoying the brief lapse in conversation as he let the low hum of the music pulsing in the room roll over him again and again.
xxxxxLukas almost choked as her hometown rolled off her tongue. Berkshire Massachusetts? The place seemed almost out of reach, vaguely familiar yet hard to recall all in the same. After rolling the name over in his head again and again, the information that he was fishing for in his subconsciousness came to light. Of course! Lukas was somewhat familiar with the wolf pack that called that territory their home. It was only another piece to the puzzle, a puzzle that was only beginning to look more and more like a wolf, as he had suspected. Luke almost wished he didn't ask the question, although it was a slight relief that her pack, if she really did belong to the Berkshire pack, wasn't known to have any conflict with his own. He didn't know if he was ready to know that another wolf actually was on campus. And the fact that this girl had flown under his radar for so long now only meant that basically anyone could be a wolf, and he had no idea who. As she returned the question, his answer came fluidly. " Small town kid. I grew up in Astoria, Oregon." He looked down briefly then, feeling a sinking feeling in his chest. His mind drifted off to a comfortable place. Brisk breeze that lingered with the smell of the ocean, warm sunlight caressing his skin, faint sound of seagulls echoing in the back of his skull. "After living in a place like that, it's definitely easy to feel homesick sometimes, you know?" he included, rather thoughtfully. This girl must think he's suffering from some form of bipolar disorder at this point.
xxxxxThis was an odd situation that only continued to weird him out. They went from practically being at each other's throats to exchanging small talk and revealing personal information? Lukas quickly blinked, as if doing so would revitalize his brain function, as if all of his defenses against situations like this were becoming decreasingly present. As she mentioned exiting through the back door, Lukas weighed the pros and cons. The brisk night air would probably wake him up a bit, and he could really go for a quieter environment, but at the same time, Vance and Abby were barely in any condition to watch over themselves. Lukas surveyed the surrounding faces, as if he could detect who would try anything stupid, or who was a potential threat to his acquaintances. Too drained at this point to fully be aware of the decision he was making, Lukas opted for the comfort of a cool breeze caressing his face over the stale scent of alcohol and sweat. "I could actually really use a breather. " he admitted, gesturing his hand towards the door as if telling her that she was to walk first. It was the gentlemanly thing to do after all, wasn't it?

        JORDYN BRISBANE ──
xxxhe must've noticed how surprised she was about him taking up a psychology major; as he began to explain his position with it. as far as she was aware, everybody she knew who went into something like that were females. so deep down, she did admire that part of him - it seemed like he didn't care what people said or thought. a light laugh left her lips at his comment, "no, not at all. just a bit surprising is all," she remarked, shrugging her shoulders again. it wasn't him being a male that seemed stranger about it, it was the way he acted. the way he had spoke to earlier definitely didn't fit the description. but than again, people can surprise you. she had learned that the hard way.
xxxas the conversation continued, jordyn noted how calm they were being now. just minutes ago it had seemed like the two were going to tear each other apart, with the spitting words and aggressive behaviors. like two wolves ready to attack. but now, they acted like friends. making casual conversation and easing into the environment. jordyn knew she could be a tad bit bipolar sometimes - but she never realized how bad it was. though, she did admit that every time she looked at him, heat would rush across her entire body. she couldn't exactly pinpoint the feeling though - was it one of anger or one of lust? or maybe it was both. it was hard for her to understand, since she'd never felt it before. she knew it'd probably sound cliche - but it was the honest truth, what she felt for him made no sense. jordyn had figured that the two had just meant, on the wrong foot she might add, and it might just be a temporary feeling. it would take some time, and she would need to get to know him better.
xxxhearing him talk about his major and why he felt the need to study it, she nodded slightly. "sounds reasonable enough. I just really like medicine and the human body, plus my parents said I'd make a great doctor. oh yeah, there's also my photographic memory. and here I am," she explained, giving a vague smile as well. jordyn's explanation on going on the medical path wasn't much, because she honestly didn't know why she did. it just felt right, kind of. throughout her childhood, she would jump around as far as a career path went. she went from painter, fashion designer, veterinarian, and many other titles before she decided on doctor or surgeon. the main cause for her indecisive behavior is because she had a hard time finding something she was good at, through her whole education. the only thing she thought she was good at was causing trouble and memorizing words from books. the medical field was kind of a wingin' it choice - but one she enjoys nevertheless.
xxxafter replying with her home town, jordyn still found herself studying his facial expressions. she couldn't quite note it - but it almost seemed to have catch him by surprise. though she couldn't be certain, but she had hoped so. that could mean that he knew where she was talking about and what exactly resided there. of course, she hadn't been apart of the actual pack - but she was still the creature underneath the full moon. it looked like he was attempting to process it, trying to connect the pieces. his reaction caused her hopes to fly higher, only another werewolf would act like that - right? she tried to let her eagerness show, as she didn't want to give anything away or seem weird. instead, she brought her cup to her lips once more and took a drink of the burning liquid. swallowing it and lowering the cup, jordyn still failed to understand why this stuff attracted so many people. it was disgusting and only made her body heat up faster.
xxxas she had expected, he had answered her question in a flash. although, after he did, she noticed how his mood at changed a bit. it gave the same look of somebody who missed home and his family - one she was all too familiar with. she had felt a slight pang of sadness for him, but it didn't last long. she then nodded slowly at his next comment, "yeah, I know. I only visit once or twice during the school year - traveling across the country isn't easy," she commented, letting a small sigh out. not to mention she hated flying. her mind than begin to stray back to what he had said: astoria, oregon. she tried to find any connects she'd know of, like he probably had with her. but she came up empty, which made her frown a bit. it didn't help that jordyn knew very little of the werewolf packs that roamed the lands in the U.S - her parents refused to teach her. they were afraid of her running off with a pack and leaving, so instead they tried to make it sound like werewolf packs were evil and deadly. as she got older, it seemed like a lie. looking toward lukas, jordyn knew it had to be a lie.
xxxcoming back into reality, jordyn was glad to find that luke was up for going outside. she had almost figured he might want to stay inside, to watch abby and vance. but after she had studied them and their surroundings, jordyn estimated they would be fine for the next few minutes or so. she smiled at his gesture before turning and leading the way, not glancing back to see if he was following, because she knew he was. she could feel his breath behind her and his presence. just as before, jordyn gingerly made her way through her crowd, ignoring everything from around her. now and then, somebody would try to pull her into the dancing crowd but she replied by shoving them away. if there was one thing she hated the most - it was stranger's touching her, or anybody really. it was rare for jordyn to feel comfortable when somebody touched her, even in the slightest way. in fact, the only people she enjoyed hugging was her own parents and abby. it was hard for her to explain, but she would probably get heated quickly and somebody tried to lay a hand on her.
xxxafter what seemed like forever, jordyn found the back door she had just been looking at. since it was already open, she slipped through it and proceeded to walk across the lawn. she then stopped near the pool, finding it had the less amount of obnoxious drunks. stopping, jordyn turned to look at lukas again. "much better," she commented with smile. gazing around, jordyn noted how the ground was littered with garbage like cups and wrappers. there was pool toys scattered around, whilst some remained in the calm pool beside her. jordyn then wrapped one of her arms around her waist while still holding her drink in the other. the cool breeze that came and went felt nice against her hot skin, and the fresh air was much better than the one that surrounded her inside the house. lifting her blue eyes from the ground, she came back to luke. "how'd you meet vance?" she asked, as she already knew how he'd met abby.

    ░░░LUKAS SINCLAIR!░░░░░░░░░░░░
xxxxxLuke nodded as the girl mentioned how difficult it was to go home when it was so far away. He couldn't imagine. It wasn't that he was a mama's boy (he definitely was), moreso that he missed being involved in the bubble that the pack lived in. He missed hunting with his friends and playing hide and seek with the smaller children and racing the young boys that were aching to show off their new control of their abilities in front of their friends. He missed the ominous stories that the older pack members told while their faces were illuminated by firelight, he missed teaching the younger kids how to control their shift and he missed wrestling his friends to the ground. Lukas missed his mother's soothing and reassuring voice, and his dad's commanding and powerful presence. He needed to go home.
xxxxxLukas momentarily lingered in the space he had occupied as he watched Jordyn walk towards the door. His eyes flickered towards Vance and Abby, watching as they had now assumed a sitting position on a couch not too far off, seeming to have a rather intriguing and animated conversation. Lukas shook his head, literally feeling the impending hangovers that the two were bound to endure, before returning his attention to Jordyn, who was almost at the door. Effortlessly, the boy took long strides to catch up with her. He watched in amusement as she shoved those who beckoned for her to dance with them. He too, felt eager hands wrapping around his arms or lightly pressing against chest as if to guide him towards the faceless mass of people. He chose to address these kinds of things with a complete disregard of their existence, simply plowing through the crowd whether or not anyone tried in desperation to stop him. While his approach wasn't nearly as physical as Jordyn's, it seemed to do the trick.
xxxxxThe boy willingly followed Jordyn as her feet carried her body towards the pool. Lukas inhaled deeply through his nose, relieved to get a breath of cool, fresh air. It smelled almost as if it were getting ready to rain. He was momentarily caught up in the sound of rustling leaves as their movement was forced by the westerly breeze. Jordyn commented something along the lines of being much better, but Lukas was too caught up in his senses to fully catch her voice. His eyes settled on the jet black sky, the stars that were supposed to hang within the deep dark void above him being barely detectable. That was another thing he missed about home. The stars at home were so lucid and so strikingly present amidst the darkness. Here, they seemed to be drowned out by people who were too busy to look up.
xxxxxThe comfortable silence that was expressed by the two was soon interrupted as Jordyn asked another question. "how'd you meet vance?" This question had caused him to pause, returning his eyes from the night sky to her face. "Lacrosse, actually. We both play on the team for school.." he stated, matter of factly as he smiled, moreso to himself. "Sometimes I feel like the only reason he noticed me is because I'm the only one on the team that's taller than him.." he laughed, shaking his head as his eyes became fixed upon his feet. " He's a good guy, just get's distracted sometimes, you know?" he looked to her, wondering if she was capable of understanding a guy like Vance. He was an alright guy, just caught up in social rank rather than academic. He was more passionate about planning chants that people would collectively yell out at sporting events rather than planning how he was going to handle all his classes for the semester. But he had the right to be that kind of person. While Vance's priorities nowhere near matched Lukas', the two were still pretty close.
xxxxxIt was then, as he felt another question at the tip of his tongue, that two very uncoordinated individuals came plodding down the lawn towards Lukas and Jordyn. "Speak of the devil.." Lukas muttered, watching intently as the two maneuvered through the thick grass and scattered litter. " If by devil you mean the most handsome devil then yes, I have arrived.." Vance spoke proudly, a bit clearer than Luke was expecting. As the two finally made it to Lukas and Jordyn's place by the pool, Vance took the opportunity to lean himself against Lukas. "This lil lady needs to go home. Pretty sure she has an 8 am tomorrow.." the boy slurred, expression dazed as he lazily gestured towards Abby, who looked equally as lost. "I however, am ready to go back and par-tay." he spoke, beginning to shift his weight back to center in an effort to stand. Lukas laughed, wrapping his arms around the guy in front of him, propping him up onto his feet. He turned to Jordyn then, shaking his head with his signature lopsided grin upon his face. "I better take this one home.." he spoke, almost as if he was referring to a child. Lukas began to walk up the lawn then, backwards and still facing the two girls, half dragging his friend along for the ride. " Hope your first college party was a good one, then." he spoke, signalling the dying out of their conversation. "And good luck with that one, she likes to sing really loudly when she gets to be like that." he laughed, speaking from experience as he watched Abby playfully swat his words away, eyes closed with a grin on her lips.
    xxxxx
    xxxxx-
    xxxxx
xxxxxThe last twenty four hours had certainly been interesting. He was still wondering whether or not he had actually met Jordyn, or if it was just his mind struggling to put a name to a face, an explanation to the unexplainable. He was pretty ahead of his normal schedule, having already gotten dressed and washed his face and brushed his teeth at least fifteen minutes before he would usually have already done these things. Lukas slipped into his converse, pulled a light jacket over his upper body, and lazily slung his backpack over his shoulder. The lack of sleep was catching up to him, mind struggling through morning fog, the skin under his eyes naturally darkening, limbs feeling heavy and weak. Lukas blinked slowly before reaching towards his door and slipping into the hallway.
xxxxxIt was a rather uneventful walk through the hallway, down the stairs, and out the door. Lukas tried to quicken his pace in an attempt to somehow coax his body to awaken. He let a deflated sigh escape his lips as his feet hit the pavement of the walkway, every step taking extra effort as he moved through the quiet campus. He kept his head down, eyes intently focused on his converse hitting the pavement and the constant thump that this contact made. It was during this intent observation that he felt his body collide with another, and papers, not his, scattered upon the ground. His eyes, suddenly much wider, peered up at the person he had disrupted, only to immediately recognize the jet black hair and piercing blue eyes. "Still not watching where your going, huh? Looks like you still haven't learned your lesson." he shook his head, only half joking. He crouched down, calmly collecting the papers that had been strewn across the ground below them. "Hope these weren't important.." he flatly commented, noticing that some of them had gotten wet from the morning dew that had settled on the blades of grass that they had fallen upon.
