muse a & muse b are both purebred werewolves. the general population of their
kind are very low, according to their parents. they have no idea of each other,
until they begin attending the same school. you can imagine their surprise wh
en they discover that they aren't the only werewolf in school. with constant b
umping of heads, the two are forced to tolerate each other at the sake of the
ir other friendships. things begin to shift when a new threat joins the game:
werewolf hunters. little do they know, those hunters are closer than they care
to realize. things begin to fall into place, and life becomes more chaotic.

this is a one x one between myself & pandemonium. please do not post
here unless asked, or a moderator. but feel free to stalk & read~

    ░░░LUKAS SINCLAIR!░░░░░░░░░░░░
xxxxxIt wasn't often that Lukas found himself pacing about his room before the sun had risen, and yet here he was, carefully maneuvering around the oldest of the floorboards as to not wake those in the rooms around him. Tonight marks a full lunar month since the last time his father had contacted him. Lukas only knew of general whereabouts, somewhere off in the northern part of oregon. But that was weeks ago.
xxxxxLukas felt generally hesitant to leaving his room, almost preferring to stay and study independently in the unlikely event that his father finally decided to reach out. If he needed assistance immediately, Lukas surely wouldn't be able to pick up in the middle of a lecture and take off, would he? With a labored breath, the boy gazed out the frosted windowpane upon the lawn that blanketed the land in front of his building. The crisp autumn morning had brought with it an unwelcomed frost, which only reminded him of the time that had passed since he had last spoken to his family. Lukas found it difficult to focus on anything except what they could possibly be doing. How could it be so important that they simply forgot to tell him?
xxxxxReluctantly, the boy picked up a somewhat clean crewneck from the floor, lazily dragging it over his toned torso. He retrieved a pair of jeans from the opposite corner of the floor and skillfully pulled them onto his lower body. Striding towards the bathroom, the boy simply ran his long fingers through his sultry coffee stained brown hair and quickly brushed his teeth. Taking one last glance at the mirror, Lukas gazed back at the the luminescent sea green irises staring back at him. Blinking, he maneuvered back into his bedroom, grabbed a light windbreaker and his backpack, and slipped out his bedroom door.
xxxxxLukas stopped at the on campus coffeeshop, as it was a part of his morning ritual. As usual, the barista behind the counter blushed when he approached, to which he shot her a soft grin. After retrieving his drink, Luke began his walk across campus. It was today, however, that his friend, Vance, had nearly tackled him from behind. Lukas grinned and playfully shoved the boy off. "Well someone's frisky this morning" Lukas teased as he continued to walk towards his lecture hall. Vance shook his head and slung his arm over Luke's shoulder. "You comin to the party tonight? Frat house off campus. They're always pretty good there." Vance kicked a rock off the pavement and into the grass. Luke shrugged, "I'm not sure, my mom wanted me to call her tonight" he lied effortlessly. There was some truth to the statement although it was him that wanted to call her. Vance scoffed, "You're gonna skip a party to talk to your mom? That's ridiculous!" Luke agreed. It was ridiculous. He needed to give himself a break. A tiny voice in the back of his head warned him of the consequences of not sticking to his original plan, but after being so incredibly sleep deprived the past few nights, rationality was barely present. Vance continued. "You'd get so much attention! New, smokin hot guy at the frat party!" Vance laughed, to which Luke punched him in the shoulder. "Alight fine, i'll be there" Luke sighed defeatingly. Vance slapped him on the back and began to run in the other direction. "Okay big guy, 9 o'clock." his voice began to fade in the distance. "Wear something cute!"
xxxxxVance trudged up the unnecessary amount of steps leading to the entrance of the social sciences building and flung open the door, only to stand and hold it open for the three people behind him. After receiving awkward thanks, he finally entered the building and made his way down the depressingly grey hallway. Arriving at lecture hall 112, he entered and staked out his seat in the second to last row. He sat himself down before awaiting the regulars. Stacey, a freshman would sit next to him and scroll through instagram on her phone. Josh, a junior, would sit to his left, hopelessly scribbling notes in a desperate effort to pass the course so he wouldn't have to take it a third time. As the room began to fill, Josh had taken his usual place but Stacey was nowhere to be found. It wasn't like he was bothered about this though. Her incessant chewing of her incredibly aromatic gum would surely not be missed.

(ooc. this is a weak intro post im sorry)

──────── ✧ ORDYN BRISBANE !!
██████████████████

xxxafter a late night of studying, jordyn almost found herself sleeping through her alarms. she had drowsily
hit snooze on the first three alarms, so when the fourth alarm came around, she practically jumped out of h-
er bed. checking the time, the girl began to spit out curse words in another language as she rushed around
the dorm room. quickly and messily, she dug threw her drawers in search of something clean and decent to
wear. she then threw off the clothes she slept in and replaced them with a pair of black leggings and a tank
top, throwing a lightweight burgundy sweatshirt over. as she continued to rush around the small dorm, jord
yn made sure to start her coffee pot in the process, that way she had her cup of fresh-brewed caffeine. trott
ing into the bathroom, jordyn proceeded to touch her face up with some concealer to hide her bags from the
many restless nights of studying. she then defined her brows and applied some mascara in an attempt to loo
k nice. fixing her hair till it was presentable, she then brushed her teeth and rushed back out. slipping into a
pair of converse, the young girl began to pack her bag with all her medical books and all her other school su
pplies. taking a deep breath, jordyn grabbed all her things, including her cup of coffee, and left the dorm.

xxxleaving the dorms and coming out onto campus, she was already making a bee-line to her first lecture of
the day. as she was walking toward it, a familiar presence came to her side. "running late this morning, are we?"
the voice said with a giggle. jordyn shot a sharp glare at the other girl, "studying for that stupid test had me up
        all night
," she then responded. "that's not the first time i've heard that," the girl said, followed by jordyn snorti
ng in slight annoyance. she knew her friend was right, jordyn was constantly holed up in her dorm, studying -
but she wasn't about to acknowledge it. "kiiiiddding. anyways, there's a party to-" jordyn practically cut her off
then, raising her hand up. "I know what you're gonna say, and the answer's no," she added, knitting her brows.
jordyn should have known that her friend wasn't going to give up so easily; she proceeded to walk beside her
and basically beg, coming up with a million different reasons she should go. finally, jordyn caved in, "ugh, fine,
i'll come if you just leave me alone, okay
?" she breathed out. the blonde girl proceeded to squeal in excitement,
causing jordyn to shake her head. honestly, she couldn't remember the last time she had went to a party. high
school, maybe? jordyn told herself that she would simply just stop by, make an appearance, and slip away.

xxxapproaching the lecture hall with her blonde friend beside her, she had almost completely stopped listeni
ng to her. she picked up on a few things: it's gonna be huge, everybody will be so drunk, and it's at 9 o'clock.
it's not that jordyn wanted to tune her friend out, she just couldn't help her. because of her photographic me
mory, all she has been able to focus on was all the notes and reading she did last night. it flipped around in h
er head like a flip book, almost instantly causing a headache. her ability was both a blessing and a curse. it he
lped dramatically when it came to her studies and her major, but it was a pain in other times. she could precis
ely remember things she didn't care for like some pages from her history book back in elementary, or traumat
ic events. her professors loved her because of it, but sometimes she wished it wasn't there.

xxxthe two friends made their way toward their usual seats in the class, toward the front of the class. jordyn s
houldered her way past other students, not bothering with any kind of kind gestures. it was almost useless here.
taking a seat, jordyn put her items down and took a deep breath, attempting to calm her jittering nerves. she ha
d just had some kind of adrenaline rush from all that running around in order to not be late. usually, jordyn wou
ld be one of the first students in here, as she enjoyed being early. but today, she had been inching close to the
bell as most students did. a lot of times, people would go as far as to call jordyn some kind of nerd. just because
of her amount of studying, and how much time she spent in the library with medical books. but that wasn't neces
sarily the case - for one, she was just trying to make her parents proud. and two, it was hard for her to relate to
others or make friends. because of her werewolf side, she was very different from other students in a way they
would never understand. so in order to protect herself and feel comfortable, she stayed away. that was until abby
had nosed her way into jordyn's life - she was the only girl jordyn could trust and confine in.

    ░░░LUKAS SINCLAIR!░░░░░░░░░░░░
xxxxxLuke lazily drew his laptop from his bag, placing it on the desk before him. He felt as if he was going backwards, being pulled from reality as his mind searched for any reasonable explanation as to why his family had failed to contact him. His gut felt as if something was wrong, but Lukas Sinclair refused this truth. He tried to urge his mind to stop being so redundant, that thinking about the same thing over and over wasn't going to solve anything or reveal any more information than he had previously gathered. But he just couldn't let it go. it was so unlike them, so wrong. It made him uneasy, feeling as though he was on a rollercoaster right before it was to make its grand descent, gazing upon the ground as it stared back at him, hundreds of feet below.
xxxxxHe was only half paying attention to his surroundings, being so preoccupied by his own thoughts, when he caught the ever so faint scent of something indescribably canine. But it just couldn't be. There were no other wolves at school, he would have realize much sooner than this. It must be some young guy, turned by some hotheaded wolf, probably for being a bit too cocky, or saying just the wrong thing. He's probably just now gaining enough strength to return to his daily routine, surely scared out of his mind. The muscles in Luke's back tensed as he quickly averted his gaze from his illuminated screen to survey the faces around him. Everyone seemed to be keeping to themselves. No one was holding up a sign with blinking lights stating that they too had a special ability.
xxxxxIt was then that the lecture hall door opened once more and Lukas was quickly pummelled with the same scent, almost physically wincing. His sea green irises were intently fixed upon the figure at the door. A girl. Jet black hair. Incandescent blue eyes. Luke's face clearly expressed an immense amount of confusion as she strode down the aisle towards the front of the room. How was she being so calm about this? Did she not realize? Could she not sense his presence? Was it not her? Luke glanced behind her as the door closed, not seeing anyone else. Maybe it was someone in the hall, and she just opened the door for the scent to come rushing in. Maybe she had just made physical contact with a wolf, or she was wearing a piece of clothing that they had. Lukas sat back in his chair, mouth slightly agape as he stared at the back of her head for practically the whole lecture. Not once did she seem to give the slightest cue that she was even a little bothered by his presence. Maybe she had already known about him? Maybe she already knows everything, and has already told all her other wolfie friends about him. Was Lukas outnumbered here? Was there a pack on campus? How could he have been so incredibly narrow-minded!
xxxxxAs soon as the professor gave the slightest inkling that class had ended, Lukas darted out of his chair, and practically sprinted out the door. Exploding from the front door, he took two steps at a time as he descended the stairs of the building and took long, purposeful strides towards his dorm building. Ignoring all attempts for social interaction from various, vaguely familiar faces that approached him, he hastily swiped his key card at the dorm entrance and skillfully manoeuvered the staircase to his floor. Finally arriving at his room, he slammed his door closed and dramatically leaned against it and sunk to the floor. He should have stayed behind, waiting for her to leave so that he could get some sort of glimpse. He now had no way to identify her, or what pack she hailed from. His kind were so few and far between, it's amazing that they wound up at the same school. Luke leaned his head back into the door, where it rested with a hearty thump. He closed his eyes and breathed in through his nose, half trying to calm himself down, and half trying to detect whether there were any more wolves residing in plain sight. To no avail, he picked up his head and moved his eyes to gaze out the window from his place on the floor. The ivory clouds sluggishly dragged across the pale indigo sky.
xxxxxFor Lukas, the rest of Monday morning was almost painfully slow. It was on Mondays that he had only one scheduled class, and so the rest of the day, he was left to his own devices. He was almost excited for Vance's stupid frat party, only because it would give him an excuse to just stop thinking. He had never wished to stop analyzing, thinking, processing before, but due to recent events, he wished he could simply take his brain out and put it in a blender. That's how it felt anyway, with such a throbbing headache and the inability to take meaningful naps. And so he was stranded in his own body, staring at a blank search engine staring back at him from his computer screen. Slowly, he brought his fingers to the keyboard, typing in various vague questions that only brought up conspiracy theories and myths. Of course he couldn't just look up "how to tell if someone's a werewolf" without getting a bunch of crap. Lukas wished, pleaded, begged for some mental relief. All he had was questions, and there wasn't a sure way to get answers. The good thing about this possible other werewolf on campus was that it provided him a convenient distraction to his current disappearing-parents-problem. She was the perfect distraction, although all she really provided was more questions.
xxxxxAs the light outside began to fade, Lukas began his pacing once more. He didn't have the class he had today until Wednesday afternoon, leaving him only one day to contemplate how to approach the situation. It wasn't like he could just go up and be like, "So hey, werewolf too? Cool!" He also couldn't take any chances being aggressive, although that was clearly the easier path for him. Sure, by himself, he could probably take her, small little thing she was. He wasn't underestimating her per say, although it was pretty hard to put the odds against his 6'1, 220 pound self. The problem lies in the fact that there are simply too many variables. Was she alone? Does she know more wolves on campus? What if her pack is some secret ancient sworn enemy to his? It was at a time like this that he really wished he could get in contact with someone, anyone from his pack. But instead of being with them, fighting whatever force that preoccupied them, conquering all the problems that were thrown their way, he was stuck at school, worrying about some girl.
xxxxxHe almost wished he said no to Vance this morning. There was an inexcusable amount of things that he needed to attend to, and instead, he was throwing on a faded black tee, worn black jeans, and his converse, and heading out the door. Scolding himself for being so irresponsible, Lukas made his way across campus to the frat house, looking down at his watch to see that it was exactly 9:48pm. Most people were probably delightfully buzzed at this point, if not a little worse. He pushed the door open to reveal exactly as you'd expect. The sea of faceless people before him wasn't the least bit concerning as he weaved through to find wherever everyone was getting their drinks and hopefully Vance on the way there.

        ──────── ✧ ORDYN BRISBANE !!
xxxdon't get her wrong, she picked up on the faint wolf scent. as soon as she walked inside and took her seat, it had drifted her way. except jordyn decided to ignore it - because she couldn't be sure, she could never be positive. since the werewolf had never properly lived amongst a pack, unless you count her parents, she could never pin-point what another werewolf would smell like. her entire life has been surrounded by human contact, at all times, so her wolf scents or instincts weren't always the best. it was hard for her to trust them, because she had little understanding of them. sure, she could do the things like shift into a wolf whenever she pleased, or sometimes her scent or hearing would intensify - but her parents didn't go into depth. they figured it wasn't necessary, as surely it was safe in the human world.

xxxonce class had began, it didn't take much for jordyn to feel a pair of eyes staring into her skin during the entire lecture. she fought the urge to turn and find whoever it was, but she also wanted to avoid any awkward interactions. so instead she kept her eyes pinned to the front of class, every once in awhile she would scribble some notes in her book. it had never occurred to her that the person staring at her could be another werewolf, somebody like her. that was in the back of her mind - because her parents had insisted that they were the only werewolves, and that all the others had gone into hiding somewhere deep within the woodlands. jordyn figured that they were probably just some weird kid who had a crush, or they were just weird. it didn't matter, they were in class and jordyn would probably never see them again.

xxxsurprisingly, time had gone by quite quickly and before she knew it - class was over. for whatever reason she had found herself lost in deep thoughts including the mystery person, and the party she promised to attend tonight. even now, she was dreading it. she could've definitely made better time by studying for her test at the end of the week. as usual, jordyn waited til most students had dispersed from the room before she got up, collected her things, and made her way out. her blonde friend had already told her goodbye and bounded off to her next class, full of smiles. it was so bizarre to jordyn how different the two girls were - abby was more of a outgoing and bubbly girl that everybody adore, whilst jordyn was just really blunt and could care less for social gatherings. she could never understand how the two formed a friendship that stuck, but she was also grateful for it. walking down the hall and taking a sip from her coffee, jordyn was already making her way toward her next class of the day.

xxxit's no doubt that the girl's schedule was jam-packed, it's what kept her busy. so she definitely wasn't complaining about it, she had asked for it. most of the classes were centered around her medical and science studies. the only class out of place was her spanish one, since her mother had insisted on her learning more of her hispanic heritage - even though she spoke spanish perfectly fine. so throughout the some-what sunny day, jordyn went through each and every class like it was clockwork. she took notes, she read pages, she had few interactions. it was already edging four o'clock when she finally came back to her dorm room, sliding the keycard to her room. her bones ached of exhaustion as she shuffled inside, throwing her belongings on the couch. her first stop was a shower that she failed to take that morning but still wanted. after that, with her growling stomach, jordyn made her way into the cramped kitchen and grabbed a cup of noddles from the cabinet. they weren't lying when they said college students live off noodles and bread. popping it into the microwave with water, jordyn leaned against the counter and messed around on her phone for the time. once the microwave dinged, she grabbed it and headed into her bedroom, making herself comfortable on her bed. while she ate, jordyn was already shoving her nose in her books and getting her homework done before this damn frat party.

xxxonce seven thirty rolled around, she got a text from abby, basically reminding her with the address of the party. she let out a deep sigh, slamming her book shut and climbing off the bed. she figured she would start getting ready now, if she wanted to look decent anyways. walking into her bathroom, jordyn spent the next thirty to forty minutes messing with her hair and make-up. she curled her black hair, and touched her face with all of the above: foundation, concealer, powder, defined brows, eyeliner, and mascara. meeting her dresser once more, jordyn began to dig through the clothing again, not even sure if she had anything worthy. after a good ten minutes of sorting through things, jordyn changed out of her school clothes and into a jean shirt that hugged her thighs, and a low-cut pink velvet tank top that she tucked into the skirt. she slipped into a pair of black open-toed heels, smoothing her outfit out in the mirror. she let a deep breath out, not able to remember the last time she had dressed like this. she liked it, but also felt panicky inside. checking the time, eight fifty-six, jordyn grabbed her phone off her bed and headed out the door.

xxxbeginning her walk across the campus, jordyn cursed herself for not grabbing her jacket, and for wearing a short skirt. it was close to freezing out here, for her. she'd figured since she was partly wolf, she wouldn't get cold so easily - wrong. the girl walked at a good pace, running her hands up and down her arms in an attempt to keep warm. approaching the frat house, jordyn could already see many students that littered the lawn and surrounding area. making her way inside, her heart began to pick her up, gingerly making her way through the crowd. unfortunately for her, she couldn't spot abby anywhere - and hasn't received any texts from her. not sure where to go, the raven haired girl weaved her way toward the area that was serving drinks, stopping at the table.

xxxjordyn found herself searching over the drinks, trying to pick her poison. she wasn't really planning to get drunk tonight, so something light would do, but couldn't find anything like that. so instead she picked a red solo cup up and poured some of the mystery punch into it, giving it a sniff once she had it. cringing away, she could smell nothing but hard alcohol emitting for it. turning, jordyn was met with somebody much bigger than her, who she found herself practically crashing into. luckily, she hadn't filled her cup up too much, otherwise the contents would be all over her and the person. it only gave a small splash, some droplets landing on her face which she wiped away. backing up and looking up, she met the other person's eyes. suddenly, jordyn was hit with some kind of familiarity, or scent. the wolf scent she had picked up on eariler, it had caught her by surprise. once she realized she had been staring without any words for an odd amount of time, she finally opened her mouth: "god, im so sorry,"

    ░░░LUKAS SINCLAIR!░░░░░░░░░░░░
xxxxxIt was times like this that he wished he had some sort of tracking device to attach to Vance, but even then, that damn guy is always falling off the face of the earth at the most inconvenient times. Lukas took a moment to pause, letting his eyelids flutter closed before deeply inhaling, hoping for something, anything. A lopsided grin appeared on his face as he distinctly pinpointed the cheap cologne that his poor friend used way too much of. The stuff was really the worst. Trying to smell like something natural yet miserably failing with its chemically overtones had to be the worst kind of cologne. He shook his head in hopes to clear his senses of the overpowering stench as his feet carried him to its origin.
xxxxxOn his journey through the masses, Lukas froze at a different, all too familiar scent. His eyebrows raised in confusion as he looked about him. It would be far too difficult to pick the girl out of the crowd here, especially with all the mixing human scents and the heavy presence of what smelled to be sweat and alcohol. Lukas shivered as he cautiously stepped forward, eyes involuntarily opened wider as he tried to better grasp his surroundings. It seemed as if it was only one other person like him in the room, which was somewhat of a relief. Good think he came here to get his mind off of this problem.
xxxxxHead pounding, Luke seemed to have forgotten where he was going, getting all too distracted by all the lights and the sounds and the people. It was as if he was going into sensory overload. There was just too much. He winced as someone bumped into him before immediately apologizing. The person looked vaguely familiar, although he seemed in no condition to sort out who the person was. Pulling one side of his mouth up in an attempt to feign understanding, Lukas pushed passed more people, in search of a door he could use as an escape. He felt in no condition to continue playing hide and seek, and the fact that the mysterious girl was almost definitely amidst the crowd was making him uneasy. He wasn't prepared for whatever she might be about.
xxxxxHe felt like screaming. All the talking and the laughing and the singing. The bass from whatever song was blaring from the speakers was so terribly loud, it felt as if his ears might start bleeding. He tried to remember what his mother had told him, how to focus more on his human senses and less on his wolf ones. Lukas clenched his fists, vaguely feeling his fingernails cutting into his palms. He began to take deeper breaths, focusing on the movement of the air coming in and out of his nose. He focused his gaze upon a crooked picture frame on the wall, using its immobility to steady himself in a room that seemed to be spinning faster and faster. As his breathing slowed, the room seemed to slow down, too. Eventually, he felt at ease, blocking out all he needed to to regain the ability to think straight. He needed to get out of here.
xxxxxIt was then, however that Luke soon gained visual of his friend, cheesily leaning up against the wall by the table littered with cups and water coolers full of god knows what. As he approached, Luke maintained his gaze upon his friend, watching hopelessly as Vance excitingly bounced over to where people seemed to be doing some sort of dancing in the room adjacent to the one he just entered. With an exasperated sigh, Lukas figured he should get some sort of drink while he was here. His hands reached for the cherry red plastic cups, before opening the lids to some of the coolers and deciding whether or not he would commit to their contents. It wasn't even that he would get very drunk from any of these dangerous mixtures, being that his metabolism has always been able to quickly break down any kind of alcohol he's put in his body. At this point in life, he was just looking for whatever seemed to taste the best. After deciding on one that smelled the least toxic, he patiently awaited for the contents of the cooler to spill from the little spigot at the bottom when he felt a cool liquid splash on his back.
xxxxxHe turned abruptly, fed up with the amount of people he's come in contact since stepping through the threshhold of this god forsaken place. His teeth were gritted, holding back a snarl, when his sea green irises became transfixed on the petite girl before him. Immediately, he was hit with the same wave that struck him this morning, to which he almost dropped the cup that he was now crushing in his hand. After he had realized that he had been staring for almost as long as she had, Lukas relaxed his grip on the cup in his hand and gently, as if dealing with fine china, placed in on the table behind him. "god, im so sorry," she spoke, voice rippling through his brain as if she screamed it in a silent room. It was smooth, but clear and precise all in the same. Lukas slightly tilted his head to the side, an involuntary reaction that physically represented his confusion. He blinked apathetically before snapping back into reality and gazing upon the liquid that she moreso splashed onto herself. "Maybe you should watch where you're going, no?" he questioned, only half joking, before turning back to the table where he had previously recalled a stray roll of paper towels resting. Ripping off a sheet, he turned back to the girl and placed it atop the cup she was still clutching, for her to use to clean herself up.
xxxxxHe took this opportunity to critically assess what he was dealing with here. This must be the girl from before; same black hair, same blue eyes, same smell. He briefly pondered what rank she held in her pack, or if she even had a pack. For all he knew, she could be a complete loner, to which he would definitely not have to worry. She didn't seem all that intimidating, although there was something about her expression that indescribably radiated strength. But even so, her body was small. And compared to his, even moreso. Lukas bit his lip and cocked an eyebrow as he tried to decide how to handle the situation. He briefly returned to his earlier thought of just bluntly putting it out there, although that was definitely not in his usual behavior. Had he known she would show up her, he would have come up with something utterly brilliant. But here? in this situation? He was out of his element.
xxxxxHe then ultimately made the executive decision to wait for her to say something first. It was hard to really gauge how to interact when he knew practically nothing, anyway. He was already mentally exhausted from the day's events, and he was really beginning to care less as to whether she was a threat or not. She seemed to be alone, as someone would have probably done something by now if they knew that she was conversing with someone of their kind. Unless of course, if it was all a trap, and she was the attractive bait. To which Lukas applauded the effort, although it would definitely take more than a girl in a short skirt and a low top spilling a random drink on him and batting her eyelashes his way. He hoped to god , for her sake and his own, that she wasn't annoying, for he wouldn't be able to control himself from pissing her off for kicks. Passive aggressive taunting was the best kind, for it didn't really cost much reputation or dignity to get the job done, and it was just so easy.

        ──────── ✧ ORDYN BRISBANE !!
xxxeverything around her seemed to be playing in slow motion now, including her breathing. the party goers that surrounded her had dispersed, the music sounded as if it was underwater or something. it was just her and him - him, who was reeking of a smell she could only get from her parents whenever they returned from their runs in the woods next to their house. she had gotten a whiff of it inside the classroom, but quickly dismissed it. but now, with the source standing right in front of her, it was attacking her senses. surely, this wasn't possible. how could she miss another wolf on campus? was she so distracted by her studies that she's dropped everything else, like her common sense? it took everything out of her to not speak up and ask him directly: who are you? what are you? jordyn had to take the chance that her senses were failing her, or else she could sound like a crazy person. she probably already looked like one.

xxxseeing his mouth move, jordyn finally broke back into her reality. everything from her thoughts dropped and she was back at the party - with the loud music, drunk people, and flashing lights. she barely caught what he said, processing it. the girl shook her head in disbelief, surely, she must've heard wrong. before she could respond, he turned and returned with a paper towel. taking it, jordyn wasn't sure if she should thank him or give him a few dis-tasting words. instead, she kept her soft lips pressed together and wiped off the rest of the droplets made by the drink. despite her previous discovery - jordyn felt some kind of frustration boiling up in her. the words that had left his mouth just a few moments before were hanging there, waiting for her to fire back. maybe you should watch where you're going, no? - who did he think he was anyways? at least she had the decency to apologize.

xxxjordyn turned away, tossing the now crumpled up paper towel away in a bin that sat underneath the table. bringing her blue eyes back to his, jordyn wetted her lips, "let me repeat myself, hotshot. i'm sorry that I ran into you. now if I were you, i'd except the apology and move along," she retorted, bringing her arms up and crossing them across her chest. jordyn was definitely not here to start anything with anybody, but he got her burning. she had already been slightly irritated with the idea of being here - and now this happens. honestly, she still hadn't processed the fact that he might possibly be another werewolf. so instead, she did what she does best - used her sharp tongue and do things she probably shouldn't. jordyn knew that she probably should've just walked away then, dropped the subject - but now she couldn't. she had shot back, and now she had to stand her ground. was that her aggressions showing?

xxxsuddenly, that heated moment was interrupted when she felt a tight grip on her shoulders followed by a familiar giggle. "jordyn!! you showed up!!" the girl squealed with delight, standing before her and the other male. jordyn knitted her brows, gaping for a short moment as she studied her friend, who was clearly drunk. "my god, abby, how much have you drank?" she questioned, letting out a deep breath. the blonde proceeded to giggle and shrug, listing off a few of many drinks she consumed over the last hour or so. jordyn sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose out of frustration. she knew she was going to be the one to carry her drunk best friend home tonight, and probably take care of her as well. so much for sleep tonight, good thing she didn't have many classes tomorrow. unlike today - she only have two classes tomorrow, and than a shift at the coffee place on campus. so she hoped tomorrow wouldn't be too miserable, like tonight might.

xxxtruthfully, she had almost forgot about the other still standing there until abby piped up. "hey, you! I think I know you," the drunk girl slurred, pointing toward the male. jordyn looked between him and abby, flashing a glare toward him in both confusion and anger. "no, you don't abby. you're drunk," she told her, keeping her voice stern as she laid a hand on the girl's shoulder to help support her. "noooo, I dooo! well, kinda. you're vance's best friend, right? oh yeah, where is he anyways?" she continued, beginning to spin around as if she was looking for the male she mentioned. right now, jordyn could barely process what the hell was going on. first, she runs into a really cute guy who was also possibly a werewolf and also a smartass, and now her best friend was drunk and claiming she knew him. so much for her "make an appearance, disappear into the night" plan, it looked like she might be stuck here a few more hours with a bunch of obnoxious drunks.

xxxnodding her head and running her tongue along her bottom lip, in some kind of frustration, jordyn also clutched her cup. finally, she brought the drink to her lips and took a drink, almost instantly regretting it. the mystery punch had almost been entirely mixed with hard liquors including vodka, tequila, among other things. the alcohol burned her throat before settling in her stomach, causing jordyn to take in a sharp breath. still, she knew she needed that drink, she needed to settle her nerves one way or another. by now, she already wanted to go right back home, in the comfort of her bed, away from prying eyes. she probably could've avoided this interaction entirely, never having to see this guy ever. but no, god had other plans. he wanted their paths to cross, and here they were. at the same time, jordyn was relieved, in a weird way. because if he was actually another werewolf, than that meant she wasn't alone - right?

xxx"she's joking, right?" she spoke, keeping a sharp look on him with her piercing eyes. her emotions were torn: she wanted him to say yes, but she also wanted him to say no. she knew it might be a bad idea, because the two barely had any kind of interaction, yet jordyn already felt some kind of way. it made her stomach flutter and heart quicken, but she also felt irritated. the wolf couldn't explain it, it didn't make sense. she wanted to put him into his place and shut him down - among other things. still, she kept her eyes on him, awaiting an answer.

    ░░░LUKAS SINCLAIR!░░░░░░░░░░░░
xxxxxLukas watched intently as the girl cleaned herself up a bit with the paper towel he had given her. So far, so good, as to refer to the whole "is she annoying or not?" question. He hoped that she was a quiet type, submissive even. But that outfit, and those eyes? It was a pretty long shot. Her eyes seemed to old some indescribable fire, and it was inevitably bound to burn him at some point. He hoped he was wrong, as this would complicate things indefinitely. But Lukas was pretty good at reading people. It was quite difficult to decipher this one, but he couldn't ignore that look in her eyes. He knew she was something different.
xxxxxOf course, the next thing that escaped her lips managed to prove him right. Sometimes, Lukas wished he could be wrong about these kinds of things.Slightly shaking his head, as if he misheard her, Luke replayed the words that left her soft, rouge lips. let me repeat myself, hotshot. i'm sorry that I ran into you. now if I were you, i'd except the apology and move along, Lukas almost laughed aloud, assuming she was joking. Hoping that she was joking. But as the petite girl raised her arms and crossed them over her chest, then proceeded to do that thing that most girls do, when they shift their body weight to one side, and sort of pout their lips out? And the facial expression upon their features can only be described as murderous? Yeah, that's what this girl was doing now, and it was a pretty obvious indicator that she was being serious. It was pretty gutsy for her to say that to him, a tall, pretty muscular guy, with a look of absolute disinterest playing upon his face. But now, that mood changed. Lukas was delightfully amused by her attitude, rolling his eyes as he crossed his own arms over his chest. Of course, this accentuated his toned arms and put them on display, making him look bigger, maybe more intimidating? But that wasn't his purpose for assuming the current position. Lukas wished to mirror the girl, for, if she wanted to play the game this way, she had absolutely no idea who she was up against.
xxxxxLuke's face adorned his signature lopsided grin, although now, instead of his eyes conveying their usual genuine curiosity, they wore a more sinister, almost playful expression. He habitually bit his lip, an involuntary action to his mind working on carefully handpicking words to deliver to her. "Oh princess..." , he knew she'd love that, as he took a step towards her, and leaned down ever so slightly. His breath, still minty as he hadn't taken a sip of whatever poison lay waiting for him in his plastic cup, fanned across her face as his lips were inches from her ear. "You can just keep your cute little apology to yourself, doesn't mean a thing to me anyway. " his voice was a low rumble, in a tone that warned of further action. Smiling politely, he punctuated his sentence with a smartass smile, knowing very well she'd love that, too. He already didn't know how to feel about her. There was something interesting, something he couldn't quite walk away from. And now he was invested.
xxxxxJust as he was about to speak again, he was interrupted by a god awful high pitched voice that could only belong to a girl he had met awhile back at one of Vance's get-togethers. With a disappointed sigh, Lukas retreated from the girl in front of him and rolled his eyes to rest upon Abby, a girl he had become acquainted with due to Vance's horrible matchmaking skills. Fortunately for both of them, she was pretty drunk at the time, in fact, almost in the same condition as she was now, and nothing ever came of it. He shook his head, disappointed as he hoped she would never find herself like this again. But here she was, barely able to stand, a dazed far off look in her eyes. Lukas had to admit that she was a pretty good person to just vent to, considering there was a slim chance she'd remember any of it anyway. Of course she was in no condition for real, getting to know each other conversation, so all they really ever did was sit on a couch, her sitting, sometimes nodding, other times laughing, as Lukas let himself reason out his own problems verbally, in front of her.She seemed to always get a kick out of his extraordinary overthinking skills. Lukas would be pretty surprised if she even remembered him at all, though. And this was proven true as she only referred to him as Vance's best friend. Lukas grinned, nodding his head in agreement. "Hey babe, it's been awhile." He spoke, voice completely shifting from how he had spoken to the now angered girl. Lukas decided to play with this, leaning towards Abby and going in for an artificially enthusiastic hug, only backed away slightly when he felt that the girl was putting most of her weight on him.
xxxxxAs the girl questioned where Vance was, Lukas had remembered that he too, was looking for that idiot. "You know what, Abs? I have no idea! Let's go find him, okay?" the tone he used was one that a person would only reserve for a puppy or possibly a small child. He gingerly placed his hand on the girl's waist and helped her to an acceptable standing position. He couldn't help but wonder how Abby was even still alive, or how much she must be dealing with to justify this amount of consumption. It was pretty irresponsible, and Lukas was relieved that no one else had gotten their hands on her before she walked her way into the conversation he was previously engaged in.
xxxxxLukas though about the wolf girl, as he had taken to referring to her, reassessing his previous deduction. She was clearly more animated then previous interactions had led on, and she also seemed just as confused as he was. She seemed to not operate like a wolf belonging to a pack, leading him to wonder where she came from, and who else knew she was here? Loners are pretty easy for a seasoned hunter to pick out, and are also pretty easy prey. He himself was technically alone, but he had people who would notice his absence, or at least he hoped so. But he had also been trained on how to blend in with the crowd. He hoped to god she was trained as well. All he needed was for hunters to be attracted to this campus, then he'd have to pick up and restart somewhere else. And that would be a complete pain.
xxxxxWalking off in a random direction with Vance's very annoying play thing, Lukas looked over his shoulder at wolf girl and gave her a nice big smile. "Coming along, princess?"
