She sighed, walking to her closet, the previous night her parents had said they wanted her to meet the human, without them since they would be sleeping most of the day. This was an un-delightful perk of her parents, leaving her to fend for herself, just awesome. She picked a casual white dress, with a puffed out skirt, she didn't like to be that vampire who was always black and red, so she choose vibrant colors, like, pink, white, blue, all those colors, she also greatly enjoyed aesthetics. Her room was also colorful, most vampires didn't get that she liked to dress like humans and decorate like them, but that didn't bother her much, she brushed her hair, braiding it and brushing her teeth (Including her fangs).

Lastly, he grabbed some random clothes from his closet, grey sweatpants and a sleek black shirt. Okay, no. Rummaging around, he found normal, navy skinny jeans. That’s presentable, at least.

He put the selected clothing on and walked out into the hall, hopping as he slipped the second shoe onto his foot and racing down to meet his parents. He would never hear the end of it if he were somehow late. Of course, they were waiting by the main entrance, still and perfect as porcelain. It made him want to gag.

Her parents had told her exactly where to meet, and she walked out of the house, following the various streets until she found the one called, Main Street, her head buzzed with familiarity, this is where she had been rejected when she was a kid because she was 'different'. Which started the war between the humans and the vampires, that was how she had come to hate the humans, but for how much time she had spent with them, she had learned to regularly become adjusted to their customs, such as their clothes, and how they decorated and what style they wore their hair. So she decided to try to fit in as one of them, and she was doing pretty good at it, nobody was staring at her, Bonus Points for her... So she didn't completely 'hate' humans, she just disliked them.

He finally arrived at the point that his parents told him to go, looking up from his feet as he noticed a silhouette standing by the road. He gave a meek wave, assuming that it must’ve been her. Nobody else was here, so it made sense. She looked different than he had expected her, though. In fact, he sort of looked like the vampire here.

Embarrassed, he opened his mouth to say something before clearing his throat. “Hello, I’m Damien.” He said in a slightly raspy voice, bowing in an attempt to seem respectful, mirroring what his parents had been teaching him for years.

"Oh," she thought to herself,"So this is him..."

Her lips curled into a soft smile,"I'm Cadence." Her voice was soft, almost comforting, with kindness added to it. "It's nice to meet you..." He was taller than she expected and he loomed over her, making her slightly nervous, she hadn't been this close to a human in a long while, and she pulled on the bottom of her dress with the tip of her fingers.

He paused for a few seconds, feeling the tension in the air. Finally, he spoke. “How are you?” He asked slowly, still uncertain of this, but it’s not like he had a say in it. His voice was normally a little rough, despite his shy nature, but at the moment it was soft and uneven, as if he were strained to simply speak.

She noticed the strain in his voice and he looked up at him,"I'm well. I guess we both had rough nights huh?" Her eyes sparkled slightly, with a small smile. She was fast with conclusions and this one seemed like the right one.

His body relaxed at her reply. “No kidding.” He muttered with a light chuckle. Damien smiled gently and genuinely, his eyes a soft Hazel. "You'd think that, in these times, they could at least take volunteers." He joked casually.

"Yeah, I didn't take it to seriously until my parents told me last night..." she shifted slightly so she could keep her balance."The thing is it was unexpected..." Her tone changed slightly as she looked down at her feet.

His smile dropped, stiffening again. What if he did something wrong? “I didn't exactly plan for this, either." He murmured, attempting to console her. He reached out to pat her on the back, but recoiled. That would probably be weird and creepy of him to do.
