In The Fall

“It’s a sad world,” Rocket replied in a low mutter. He set the fridge in the back seat before picking up Gabbi and setting her into the passenger seat, buckling her even though she didn’t previously buckle herself in. He closed the door and walked around, pressing the button and setting g the seat back before sitting in it. He started the car and drove silently back to campus.

When they arrived, he turned off the engine, handed her the keys, got out, grabbed the fridge and then let Gabbi fall into his side as he locked he door and led them back to their dorm.

gabbi smiled when she was picked up. she groaned when he buckled her though. they were silent on the drive home. she sighed when they got into the dorm. she unlocked their door, walking in with a sniffle.

Rocket set the fridge down in the middle of the room against the wall before turning to Gabbi.
“Tired Princess?” He asked.

gabbi smiled softly and him and nodded. "very." she laughed, plopping on her bed with a huff. "are you?" she asked, looking at him while she was laid down. she pulled her phone out of her pocket, smiling when she saw her brother texted her.

“Somewhat,” Rocket replied, stretching as he walked over to Gabbi. “Want me to tuck you in Princess?”
He gave a sheepish smile as he waited for her response, leaning over her.

gabbi giggled, looking at him. "knock yourself out." she laughed, laying her face on her pillow with a sigh. she relaxed her muscles, smiling into the pillow.

Rocket chuckled as he slid the covers over her, tucking in any place that would let cool air in.
“Good night,” He said softly, going over to the fridge and quickly setting it up and turning it on before turning off the light and falling into the bed himself.

gabbi mumbled a soft goodnight to him before she turned, the blankets wrapping her up completely. she fell asleep almost immediately, worn out from what had happened at the store.

Rocket laid looking at the ceiling for a while before going asleep. Tomorrow shall be interesting.

gabbi woke up at about three am, whimpering and crying. nightmares... she held herself tightly, sobbing silently into her pillow. a single sob escaped her lips, and she tried to stay silent
