niles in your typical citizen living in the
US. he has two older sisters, and a cou-
ple of dogs to help cope with his unde-
niable anxiety. seeing as he's an intro-
vert, he somehow always gets himself
into trouble that he never asks for.

steven “steve rogers, also known as: captain america, captain rogers, cap, and captain. born july 4, 1918.

main trait: he has always had a noble and honest spirit, intolerant towards injustice and abuses of power.

he is literally one of the most sweet, kind, and selfless people on the planet, really you can’t find a better guy, and is the very meaning of a gentleman.

xxxxxas he jogged lightly, the rising sun just peaked over the tops of the trees, spreading across the sky with soft colors of violet, baby pink and a light, wispy purple, and he took a long breath of clean, fresh air, letting it circulate through his lungs before letting out a long, drawn-out but steady exhale as he turned the corner of the street, and there it was - the small, local coffee shoppe owned by a kind family who lived on the upper part of the building. he’d gone there so many times before and it never got old. caffeine was a great booster after doing his morning jogs around the neighborhood.

xxxxx”morning, steve.” the barista - the owner’s daughter, lizzie - spoke lightly from behind the counter without looking up as she mixed up the young man in front of him’s drink. she turned then, drink in hand, to hand it to him before she glanced at steve and sent him a beaming smile, which he returned.

xxxxx“hey, liz-“ the words had barely left his lips when the young man in front of him turned and crashed into him, spilling the dark liquid all down the front of steve’s navy blue shirt, who froze as it burned his skin through the thin material. he quickly jolted out of his surprise, raising his eyes to meet those of the young man’s, pinching his shirt and pulling it in an effort to get it away from his skin. he could only stare, for once at a complete loss for words, his lips parting although no words slipped out. “are you alright?” he spoke, figuring he should speak first and of course it was all concern for the other, never about himself.

as the morning sun arose behind the shrubbery and forest greens, niles was out walking his two dogs- to which he values more than human beings. his large female labradoodle had stopped halfway through their walk, and sat herself down. her large, pink tongue drooling in a wish for what appeared to be water. "lana, on the next stop i'll get you some water. i promise." to which his other dog, his small chihuahua stood vacant in the summer breeze. lana lazily picked her tired body up, and started to walk again. their same old route, expect this time niles had to stop somewhere for his needy dogs.

luckily there was some sort of coffee shop around the dog park that he so lived in. yanking at their leashes, the male walked himself over to a bicycle stand, and tied them up. "please, for the love of god don't make a scene." he whispered to the two dogs, only to retrieve some sort of look from lana. shaking his head, and fumbling around with his keys nervously- he entered the coffee shop to hit the vibrant smell of caffeine and stressed out teens.

clearing his throat, he stood in line before meeting the soft gaze of a young girl- her name tag displayed 'LIZZIE' in all bold. "what can i get you today sir?" her fingers danced over the electronic screen, and niles suddenly felt rushed. ordering some sort of coffee (god knows what it was), he observed how lizzie got extremely distracted with the man behind him. feeling a bit impatient, he grabbed for his known coffee, and spun around. running right into the man that lizzie was flirting with.

his drink splattered everywhere. not prepared to run into someone as strong as the man behind him, niles stumbled a bit back against the counter. they were both at a loss of words, before the victim finally spoke up. "yeah... yeah, i'm alright. god, i'm so sorry- about, about-" feeling vastly embarrassed, he felt his hands shake as if he was partaking some sort of earthquake. niles hated having anxiety, even so the stares of other people in the local coffee shop only added to the torture. looking downwards to see that the rest of his coffee managed to spill on the floor, he turned around only to receive a slight nod of the head from lizzie. "we'll clean it up, don't worry. for now, let's move the line this way!" her voice cutting through the people who eagerly stood in line, niles turned back around to face the blonde.

"i really am sorry. uh, can i repay you somehow?" as soon as the question slipped from his lips, he knew it sounded rather ridiculous. how was he going to repay someone for accidentally running into them? his ears warmed at the cool air conditioning, and soon enough his gaze drew upwards to meet the stranger's refreshingly blue eyes.

the liquid was beginning to cool so he was able to let go of his shirt, giving the young man what he hoped was a reassuring smile. “there’s no need to apologize. but, would you like another coffee?” he could see that his hands were trembling and immediately wished those behind them would stop staring. “since your first one is all over the floor and on my shirt.”

“oh- by the way, I’m steve rogers.” he held out his hand to him, not wanting to seem intimidating or unfriendly. it was a strange way to meet for the first time, with coffee spilt all down his shirt. for once he wouldn’t have to introduce himself as captain america - things tended to get out of hand whenever he did for someone always seemed to overhear and then suddenly he was being swarmed by citizens.

“and there’s no need to repay me, either. it wasn’t a very good shirt, anyway.” he attempted to reassure him, not knowing if he would insist that he repay him or not. accidents happened all the time, so really, there was no need. he had enough accidents happening all around him living in the avengers tower[ especially with Bruce and the other guy, as they called his other half. things could get crazy with everything going on at once, so he was glad for the break.

the bright, reassuring smile that had landed on the man's face had niles feeling almost worst for his ridiculous actions. taking a moment to process what was said, he slowly shook his head, and grabbed for the empty cup that sat on the floor. "no, no- i don't really drink coffee... so, i'm not even sure why i got it in the first place." having a goofy smile split on his face, he resorted to spinning around again, and placing the plastic container on the counter. the stranger's next few words had his heart skip a beat.

"steve rogers?" he repeated, turning around to notice a hand stuck out for him to shake. wiping his sweaty palms on his shirt, he shook his hand back. in that time period, it felt like he picked up every lining of steve's hand, and how relatively big it was compared to his. "i'm niles pancras- it's uh, nice to meet you?" shyly smiling, he felt like the whole introduction itself was rather iconic. spilling his coffee, and steve finding a way to edge his way into introducing himself.

chewing down on his lips, he drew away his hand forgetting that he shouldn't be holding hands with a man that he just met, and instead rose a brow when he reassured him once more that he didn't need to repay him. "it wasn't a very good shirt huh? glad i could ruin it." edging his way from around the counter, he peered out the glass windows to make sure his dogs were still attached to the poles- to which they were. "ah, are you sure you don't need me to repay you?" his tone a bit rushed, he noticed how lana was sprawled out on the concrete like she was about to have a heat stroke. "oh right! water!" he interrupted randomly, his body spinning around like some sort of tornado, he grabbed for his empty cup. "i'm sorry, i have to go, and-" shifting his weight a bit, he started to slowly inch his way towards the door, "and get my dogs some water."

noticing how idiotic it sounded, he offered a friendly wave to steve, and turned to exit the coffee shop. when he hit the summer breeze, both of his dogs whipped their heads upwards to look up at him. lana offered him a guilt tripping gaze, and like an idiot- niles forgot to fill up the cup with water through the water fountain. "i'm not going back in there, and making myself look like more of a fool." he whispered under his breath, placing the cup down on the ground, and pulling out his keys. "we're almost home, i'm sure there's a water fountain elsewhere."
