"Ehhh, sure. I just need to make a quick stop at home. I gotta deal with this." Emma said as she gestured to her face and hair, "Oh and I'm pretty sure there's makeup on your pillow 'cause I never took it off last night. oops." She returned his smile with a smile of her own. Emma was thankful that Preston was so nice and wasn't afraid of her even if he kind of was in the beginning, she was starting to consider him a good friend, "I'll meet you there? Unless you wanna come visit my mess of an apartment."

“I’m going to put my pillow in the washing machine then he can head out to your apartment.” Preston said. He got up and walked into his bedroom. He grabbed his pillow and put it in the washing machine. “Alrighty let’s go.” Preston said. He followed Emma to her apartment, wondering what it looks like. Maybe he’ll clean it up for her.

"Oh yeah, do that. Sorry about that." Emma apologized. She eventually made her way back to her apartment or what Emma liked to call it, Casa de Richards'. What was inside was mostly books. Emma couldn't find a big enough bookshelf for all of her books so she resorted to stacking them in random places, even a cabinet is full of books. "Oh yeah, I'm sorry about all the book. I'm kinda a hoarder when it comes to them." Emma went into her bathroom and gave her hair a quick brush and fixed whatever makeup was left, not that she did a lot when it came to makeup she just wanted to hide her sleeping lines.

"That's alright." Preston said. He looked at a few books and started to read one of them. When Emma got done, he got up and walked out of the apartment. "Alright let's go." He said. Preston walked with Emma to the Chess place and got them a spot. He went over to the table they were assigned. He sat in a chair and looked at his friend. "You can go first." He said with a smile. When she made a move, Preston then made a move.

Emma cracked her knuckles, she smiled it had been awhile since she had actually played chess. Though she felt a certain wave of sadness wash over her. This was something she used to do with her friends in school and her being the chess queen was a little bit of a stretch, but she was still pretty good at it. Emma made her moves, "aaaaaand check." She said as she placed down a piece. Emma was having fun and she could only thank Preston for that. She gives him a friendly smile. Only if she had met Preston before she died, maybe then she wouldn't be in the position she's in now.

Preston smiled back at her. The weird thing is, Preston went to the same school as Emma did. It took him this long to realize this. Preston was always bullied in school because he was a nerd and weak person. So he was a perfect target for everyone to bully. Preston remembered he would sometimes look at Emma. She would look at him but start laughing. Perhaps it was something one of her friends said. That is what Preston always thought. “I just realized we went to the same school. I was always bullied. My brother tried to help but he was turned into one of those popular people.” Preston sighed. “A couple times I would look at you and you would look back, but you would start laughing. I just assumed your friends said something that made you laugh.” He played a piece, but it was a mistake since Emma can take out three of his pieces. “I was weak and a nerd. So I was a easy target for everyone.”

She gave him a confused look, "Really? I had no idea..." Emma took a moment to think about it, he's right, they did go to the same school, "I do remember seeing you around now that you mention it...I can promise you one thing, I never laughed at you. I most likely would've had no idea who you were. To be honest, I had no idea who half the people were at our school." She was the type of person who mostly surrounded herself in her circle of friends, she was loyal like that. "If you were to name someone, I most likely will have no clue who they are." Emma had no doubt that they knew who she was, she was a troublemaker. A free spirit who instead of wasting her time doing good things decided to get herself into trouble. Emma took Preston's pieces, she sighed and shook her head, "I swear to god, if you let me win on purpose I will cry."

“I’m not. I wasn’t playing attention. I promise.” Preston said. He really didn’t pay attention when he played his chess piece. From now on to the end of the game, Preston was very careful for where he placed his chess pieces. At the end of the game, Preston smiled at Emma. He didn’t care who one or loose. He’s just happy that they got to hang out with each other. “Do you want to go to the park?” He asked.

As the game ended, Emma stood up in celebration, “I still got it!" She did a little victory dance before Preston caught her attention. “And do what?” She asked while turning around. There was nothing wrong with going to the park, she was going to go regardless, Emma was enjoying her time with Preston. It’s just that, in her opinion, there isn’t much to do there. Emma usually went there to read, mostly later in the day because it was quieter and easier to focus.

"To do whatever really." Preston said. He walked out of the building and started to head to the park. When he got there, Preston climbed up a tree and sat on one of the branches that were high up. He looked up at the sky and sighed. He wish he could go fly, but he wasn't sure if he could turn invisible. Besides there are satellites that could easily detect him. Preston closed his eyes and started to hum to himself.
