lady was born in southwestern kansas and was adopted by a poor chicken farmer. the farmer fed lady table scraps and chicken bones every few days instead of dog food, because his farm was many miles away from the nearest grocery store, and he didn't have enough money to buy her dog food. one day, the farmer surrendered lady to an animal shelter because he felt like he wasn't feeding her enough. she stayed at the shelter for about two months until another farmer adopted her and brought her to his farm.

personality:
lady follows her heart rather than her brain. she is very free-spirited and prefers surprises over a schedule. when given a task, she will either tackle it head-on or be a little reluctant. at times, lady can be a little hypocritical or judgmental.

Eleanora is a working line rough collie who came from
A breeder in the northern part of Kansas. She has 4 ot-
her brothers and sisters but after Eleanora was adopted
she no longer saw them. As soon as Nora arrived home s-
he was introduced to the farmers live stalk. Nora's own-
er was trying to see what kind of potential this dog had.
Nora gave a quick glance to her master, Asking if it was
alright. Nora's master gave a reassuring nod And Nora t-
ook off. From that day on Nora was a single dog, herdin-
g her master's sheep all day long.

Lady awoke in her cage, surrounded by three walls of pale yellow concrete bricks and a metal fence gate. She got up and stretched, waiting for her morning kibble. The young border collie wasn't expecting anything exciting today, just like any other boring old day. On some days, a visitor or two will come over and say hello, but nothing more.

Today was special for Lady, because as she started to eat her breakfast, a farmer came in, asking the woman at the desk if there were any good dogs to help at his farm. She smiled as she got up and gestured him towards the dogs in the back. The farmer walked up to Lady's cage.
"Oh, what a cute little border collie!" He said. "I'll take her. She'll be perfect with my girl Eleanora." The woman opened the gate and put a bright red leash on Lady.

Who is this person? Lady thought curiously as she and the man exited the building and walked to his old pickup truck. Lady got the passenger seat next to the strange man and they drove off, away from the small shelter in the middle of nowhere.

"My name is Hudson, and I am the proud owner of Maplewood Meadows," The man spoke to Lady. "You can help Eleanora with herding the livestock."

Eleanora...? Lady thought as the truck pulled up to the farm. Who's that?

Eleanora heard the door to her masers door truck close, She yawed and stood up from her spot in the sun shaking off as she walked she slipped out of the dog door to great her Master. She yipped and spinned in a couple of circles at the sight of Hudson, Hudson smiled back at Nora. "Nora girl, I got you a friend!"

A friend? Whats that Eleanora wondered..

Hudson walked over to the other side of the car.
"She's gonna help you with the livestock." He opened the car door and held Lady in his hands. "Nora, meet Lady." He placed her on the ground in front of Eleanora.
Is this Eleanora? Lady thought, looking at the young collie. She cautiously walked up to the strange and unfamiliar dog.

Eleanora had never seen any dogs before, Well not since she was a puppy. She remembered how she and her siblings used to play she smiled at that thought, She was so young back then, Everything was so new and exiting... Quickly breaking out of her thought She bowed in font of the new dog and gave a few inviting yips.

Lady paused for a moment, not sure how to react. She had only just met this dog a moment ago, and now she wants to play.
I guess it wouldn't hurt to make a friend... She thought, now in a play stance. Lady yipped in response, and ran around in a circle in front of Eleanora, encouraging her to run around with her.

Eleanora took the invite and ran in front of Lady, before bowing again and giving a few yips.
I like this new frined Eleanora thought to herself before taking off in the other direction, Yipping the entire time.

I guess I'll follow her... Lady thought, trying to catch up with the collie. The farm was huge compared to her old owner's, with cows, sheep, chickens, and even a small duck pond. There were so many scents and new things that it was slightly overwhelming.
