Raven smirked as he walked away, knowing she wouldn't go after him. She could tell from his demeanor that Chance wanted her to call him back, but she was glad the male was gone. Her shoulders sagged with relief that the threat was leaving. She watched chance, still trying to look confident in case he turned around when he realized he wouldn't get what he wanted. Finally, she decided to turn away from him, fighting the urge to look back over her shoulder. She almost wanted him to come back, just so she would have the satisfaction of knowing he didn't really want to leave. On the other hand, she didn't really want to deal with him any more.

Akhaten was hesitant, but he slowly walked towards what he thought was the sound of another dog. Ahead of him, he saw an older Spaniel walking along the sidewalk. He tilted his head, wondering if he should call out to the other dog. He just stood for a while, trying to muster up the courage to say something. "Hey!" He barked loudly, trying to get her attention. he ran through the water towards her, slowing down a few feet away. Akhaten noticed that she seemed upset about something. He took another step forward, but he tripped and almost fell. He righted himself quickly. "A- are you alright?" he asked, somewhat concerned. An old dog like her shouldn't be walking around alone like this in the middle of a storm. She should be... with her owner or something, not here. Akhaten felt a little bad for her, knowing she must have been abandoned like him.

Duke stepped back from the hole once it was large enough, waiting patiently as the female slipped through. As soon as she was out, he noticed how much she was trembling pitifully before him. It confused him. He had never seen another dog so scared, especially of him. He hadn't done anything wrong, had he? Surely this had been what his owners wanted. Duke looked over his shoulder to make sure there was nothing behind him the dog might be scared of. Seeing nothing, he turned back to her. Perhaps it was because of his size, since he was nine inches taller than her and fairly muscular. He lowered his head in an attempt to look less frightening. He didn't really know what to do, since comforting another dog had never been part of his training. The ground under one of his paws felt warm, so he lifted his paw to look at it. Seeing a line of blood on his paw, he figured he must have cut it on the wire. He put it back down. It was just a small cut, and his owners would come get him soon anyways, so it was fine.
He looked back to the female dog, still not knowing why she was so scared. "I'm not gonna hurt you." he said softly, just loud enough for her to hear over the wind. Duke tried to look the least threatening he could. After a pause, he added "I'm Duke, by the way."
