The Fall of Seven

Adeline was quiet for awhile before she confidently said "I want to take part on that." she raised her chin slightly, eyes determined "I...I want to convince him, I want to know why and how it reached our camp." she looked around nervously before saying in a whisper "It...It sounds crazy but uhm...There's this feeling that keeps coming back to me. A feeling that...something isn't...right." she lowered her eyes, cheeks tinted pink with embarrassment "I know...It's funny and ridiculous."

Jax shook his head. "No, I feel it too." He said. Then, "We'll demand a quest at dinner. Under the pressure of the other campers, he'll have to accept." Jax said with a slight smile. "We'll do something good for the camp- wether they know how much it helps or not." Jax was already planning the moment in his head. He or Adeline would be offered the quest, they would choose the other along with another camper... Jax smiled. "It has to work."

Adeline nodded her head, determine like him to make this work "This has to happen or else I'm leaving camp myself." she said, tucking the strands of her hair behind her ear "I don't care if that's not allowed, I'm finding answers myself whether it's on an official quest or not."

Jax was heading to dinner. He sat at the Hades table with a thump. He let out a sigh- keeping up his act. But once Dionysus appeared, he and Adeline would do their thing. Oh, I hope this works. He thought to himself.

It will work.

It has to.

Right?

Jax perked up as Dionysus made himself visible. Jax stood, hoping Adeline was doing the same over at the Apollo table. He struggled frantically to remember how to say it. I want- no... I demand- He wasn't sure what worked. Jax turned his head slightly to see if Adeline was up.

Even before Jax stood up, Adeline herself had already risen. She saw him struggling, eyes unfocused. He seemed to be at loss for words. Adeline averted her gaze at Dionysus, everyone went silent as they gawked at them both. Chiron had an eyebrow raised, tail swishing back and forth while Dionysus was cutting his steak as if nothing was happening.

"We want to initiate a quest to seek answers for why that serpent attacked our camp." Adeline said, her voice loud and clear that cut through the hushed whispers that initiated.

"No." Dionysus said stubbornly "Sit down and eat your dinner."

Jax scoffed. "Dionysus- Chiron? The barrier broke to let that dragon in. We have to prevent it from happening again!" Dionysus rolled his eyes. Chiron spoke with a frown. "Dionysus has made his decision." The centaur said. "Please sit and eat." Jax sighed and sat. "So much for that." He muttered. He picked at his dinner, wishing they had thought of a better approach than this.

Adeline frowned as she saw the faintest glimmer in the centaur's eyes as she met his gaze. He seemed to be...challenging her. A knowing look crossed Adeline's face as he gave her a small nod before turning his attention back to his food, humming softly. Adeline straightened up "You know what, I'm leaving with or without your consent to this quest."

"You do that, I don't mind. The harpies will love demigod flesh."

"You're really stubborn aren't you? Well I'll just-"

She paused, seeing the world spin around before her vision went black and she was plunged into nothingness.

The Adeline standing before them had now been enshrouded by a green veil of mist, her eyes wide open, illuminated by a neon green glow.

"The Sun, the Darkness and the Fire will rise
To the bellow of Time and Earth
To search for what the seven had failed to compromise
The chaos, the destruction, it's rebirth
To the west where the goddess of the hunters knows it all
Seven half-bloods will take the fall"


The girl swayed before almost collapsing if it weren't for a camper catching her. Chiron was wide-eyed, looking at Adeline with mixed emotions "Phythia speaks." He averted his attention to Jax "You, come with me."

Jax stared, dumbfounded. She had... told a prophecy? Jax turned to Chiron and nodded. "Where are we going?" He asked, walking up to the centaur. He wondered if Adeline had just earned them acceptance to the quest. Jax followed the centaur, trying to keep up.

Chiron gave Jax a small smile "We're going to make that quest of yours come true." he entered the Big House and motioned for Jax to follow "You two have courage to stand up despite us trying to convince you otherwise, I admire that." he sat down on a large, circular table and motioned for Jax to take a seat "Please, tell me what's on your mind."

[Darkminnow]

Jax shook his head. "What do you mean?" He asked, taking a seat at a wooden chair. "I don't know what you're asking of me." He repeated in better words. Jax was confused- 'Tell me what is on your mind' was a question he usually tried to avoid. But maybe this was different- maybe Jax could answer the question this once. As long as he avoided others.
