As I knew it, I was called up over night. I had no sleep, and I was tired. Some are granted with a power that helps them stay awake, but it's the opposite for me. My powers use up a lot of energy, that it's almost not worth it. I needed coffee, or something that would help me stay awake and get home safely. I walked down the road, forgetting that I was wearing my suit, so people followed and asked questions. I mostly ignored them, too tired to talk. I got to a cafe not far and I opened the door, walking inside to hear gasps. I wasn't fazed by this. My eyes were half closed and I felt a bit drowsy. I made my way to the register and I ordered a large coffee with extra chocolate and caffeine. Once I got my drink, I yawned, took a few gulps, and started to make my way out. Gosh I was so tired. I couldn't help but close my eyes as I left the building. I heard footsteps nearby, but I had to ignore it. I could use my powers, but I started to forget how to use them and where I was. I cracked my eyes open and crossed a road, closing them again once I reached the sidewalk. People passed me and didn't want to run into me, thinking i'd hate them or not do my job.

My outfit had me feeling pretty jazzed. Usually I looked like a creep, towering over everyone in dark clothes, but today, every girl I passed sighed and faux-passed out. After it had happened a couple times, I started winking at the girls I walked by and shot finger guns at them, and they clutched their hearts, their faces red, their eyes crinkled from the giant goofy smiles flooding over them like a tsunami. One girl was walking pretty slowly, like she was tired, and I thought she could use some cheering up. I puffed out my chest and walked past her, my eyes shut in confidence she would acknowledge my presence. When no sound of acknowledgement was made, I opened my eyes. She had trudged past me without saying a word. I frowned, bristling. Usually I avoided eye contact, but after last night, I wanted to show off. I speed-walked until I was in front of her. I cleared my throat and spread my hands, like I was showcasing myself. I gasped when I realized who it was.
Dawn Lee.
I panicked, already thinking of a good excuse, but she beat me to it.
"Cody?" she slurred, her eyes squinting like I was a mirage and couldn't see me properly. "Is that you?"
I had no idea who Cody was, but Dawn was obviously delirious, and I wasn't about to pass up the opportunity to squeeze past getting in trouble. "Yeah, it's me," I said, hoping Cody was a friend of hers and not another enemy.
"I think I'm gonna pass out. I don't know why I'm so tired, but can you walk me home?"
I gulped. "Yeah, sure," I mumbled, wondering what I'd gotten myself into.

[Trots]

I nodded slowly and wrapped my arms around him, almost falling asleep there and then.
"Thank you..." My voice drifted off and I fell asleep. Jeremy on the other hand, gave a small smirk.
"Are you asleep?" He asked, slowly picking me up bridle style. I didn't respond of course. I was asleep. "Oh." He sighed and looked around. People were watching everywhere. They were interested in seeing what were to happen. Jeremy snarled and made his way towards an alley. He had to get away from the others if he wanted to trap her. "Now I can finally steal without you in the way." He chuckled deep in his throat, looking around to see if anyone were watching. No one was. He nodded and looked down at her limp body, sighing lightly before walking again. The alleyway led straight to his home. He thought while he walked, not so sure of what he'd do with her at first. Chain her up? Tie her to something? Figure out how to block her powers? He didn't know. But all he did know, was he wouldn't hurt her. He couldn't.

I finally decided to lock her in the closet of my room upstairs. I laid her down with a pillow and blanket, left some food and a glass of water, and then locked the door, placing my bed in front of it by lifting it with my magic for good measure. Since she had powers, she could probably get out of there, but she wouldn't know where I was, and even if she did, by the time she woke up, I'd probably already be done robbing the bank. The idea of where to steal from just popped into my head. Of course, rob the bank; it's way easier to get money instead of trade jewels suspiciously for money, like I would have if I had managed to snag those jewels last night. I smiled as I walked back outside of the house. I could finally do what I'd been trying to for years.
Sorry, Dawn, but there was a new Jeremy in town. And he wasn't going to lose again.

[Trots]

I slowly woke after a few hours. I couldn't see where I was sense it was dark, and my powers were still regenerating. I couldn't use them for three days, sense it takes that long for them to fully be charged up. I slowly stood and began to pound on what looked to be a door. I stepped to the side and accidentally knocked over a glass. I looked down and felt water dripping around my feet. I sighed and took another step and ended up pressing my foot against a plate of food. I shrieked and fell to the side, luckily falling on a pillow. "Where the hell am I?!" I groaned and wiped the food off my foot. I stood once more, but i slipped on some water and ended up laying on a pile of clothes. I tilted my head and raised an eyebrow. "I'm in a closet..." I stood slowly, dodging the water luckily. I made my way to the door once more and I knocked loudly. "GET ME OUT OF HERE!"

I had hidden the loot I'd stolen from the bank - I'd used my darkness to melt a hole in the vault door, so no alarms went off and no one even tried to catch me - in my room where no one could ever find it. I was just stepping out of the shower when I heard the scream.
"GET ME OUT OF HERE!"
It was Dawn, I knew it. I hurriedly wrapped a towel around my waist and moved my bed away from the closet door. Dawn was standing up, glaring at me. There was watery spaghetti all over her.
"I took time to make that," I sighed. "You didn't need to destroy it. You're lucky I even left it in there for you."
Dawn looked flustered. "I didn't mean to step in it," she said angrily. "But now I wish I had. What is wrong with you? Why did you do this to me?"
I can't tell her I robbed the bank. "I don't like you," I said finally. "You deserve to be locked in a closet."
She looks a little hurt, but mostly mad. She raises her hands like she's going to use her powers on me, but she grits her teeth and lowers them back to her sides. What is up with her?
"Leave anytime you like," I say, turning around. Water snakes down my neck from my hair, and the towel slips against my slick skin. "I'm gonna get dressed. Do me a favor and don't walk in on me."
Even though I couldn't see her and I knew she didn't like me, I could tell she was furiously blushing.

[Trots]

"Leave? I can't get home unless you drive me or take me there." I sighed. My cheeks were red, but I honestly could care less. I followed him to where he was changing, wanting to stop him so I could annoy him into taking me. "Okay? You're driving or taking me home." She didn't want to tell him why she couldn't get home, but she shrugged it off. She looked to him and narrowed her eyes.

"What did I say about not walking in on me?" I groaned, irritated. I pulled my towel back around my waist and turned to look sharply at Dawn. "I would like to get dressed. Or would you rather have me bare-chested?"
Dawn's cheeks were still rosy, but less than before. She glared at me and said, "If I were going to stare at a hot guy, it wouldn't be you."
"So you're saying that I'm hot?"
Dawn backed up out of the room. "Get dressed and take me home."
"Why can't you just use your powers?"
She stared at me blankly, the color draining from her cheeks. What was she hiding?

[Trots]

"I just can't. Anyways, you look to live far from my house." I looked out a window, raising an eyebrow. "I honestly have no idea where we are."
"We are a few miles off the city." He looked to me, smirking.
"Yeah. I'm not open to walking." I sighed and looked around. "Just get dressed."
"Oh, you don't want to stay? Maybe we-"
"Just get dressed!" I groaned as my cheeks warmed. I left the room and walked down the hall, exploring his home. "Strange." I sighed and looked around.

I had changed a lot since yesterday. Why was I being so confident? Usually I would rather die than let a girl see me even just with my shirt off, and now I was making seductive jokes! Now that I thought about it, a flush gently crept into my cheeks. I shook it off, shut the door, and got dressed. My hair was still wet when I walked out to find Dawn. She was siting on the downstairs couch, texting someone on her phone. When I saw the name, I remembered her calling me Cody when we met earlier today.
"Hey, who's Cody?" I asked. I assumed he was her boyfriend or someone like that.
"He works with me." She hides her phone from me.
Eh. If she was close enough to him to text him, I was mostly right. I said, "I'm gonna go get in the car."
Dawn was so busy texting she doesn't care about answering.
"Oh, I'll just lock you in here again," I added, louder than before.
Dawn's head popped up. "No, take me home!" she demanded.
"Alright, then let's go."
Dawn hopped into the passenger seat of my car, and we drove off.
