I dragged the body of the night guard at the jewelry store into the bathroom, locking the door from the inside and slipping out. I had all the guard's supplies, so I could do anything and not get in trouble. I produced the sack I had brought from my house and started filling it from top to bottom with jewels. I had almost cleared out the whole store when I saw it.
It was the biggest diamond in any store in Malesonville. There were laser beams guarding it, and it was locked in a glass case. I had the key to the lock, but I still had to get past the lasers. I was pretty lean, and swift; I figured I could get through. I didn't realize how cocky I was until I saw myself shaking. No. Shaking was the one thing I hadn't counted on. I was vibrating like a purring cat almost 24/7, and it got more extreme when I was cold or nervous. I had nothing to fear here, or at any other robberies, but I was always afraid, afraid of screwing up, afraid of getting caught, afraid of being a disappointment, or too corrupted with power, or of having a serious relationship. At the last thought, my face turned bright red. Tears came to my eyes, blurring my vision, and I tripped on my unnaturally long legs and heard a zap. I had set the laser beams off. An alarm rang throughout the store, and multiple people outside whipped out their phones and dialed 9-1-1. Sirens wailed in the distance.

I made my way through the city, running as fast as I could. If anyone saw me using my powers, I could blow my cover. People would surround me and I wouldn't get to the robbery on time. I'm fit, but still not "skinny" so passing people was a little bit of a struggle. It didn't take too long to get to the store being robbed. People were surrounding the building so I had to pass them and go inside. I kept my hand up in case someone attacked, but no one did. I looked to the tall boy, sighing.
"Oh, ti's just you, Jeremy." I sighed, lowering my hand. "What are you doing here, again? You're caught almost every time. You aren't that good of a villain, I must say." I smirked, used my magic so the bag of diamonds appeared in my arms. I raised my hand and his body flew back against a wall. "When will you learn that stealing does no good..." I rolled my eyes and began to wait for the cops to come, using my magic to hold him down. I never could look at him straight in the eye. To me, he was attractive, but I knew I couldn't like him. He was a villain. It wasn't allowed. Anyways, why would he like me? I'm a hero. He probably hates me more than anything sense I always catch him.

I had powers. That was one of the reasons I'd become a villain. Whenever I robbed a store, I tried not to use my powers in case someone saw me, but since I always got caught, I used my powers to get away. Instead of being stuck to one specific power, like invisibility or super strength, I had the power of darkness. I could carry myself on legs made of darkness, or fly away with dark wings, or even make things to cause diversions or carry me away out of black particles that came out of my hands. It was pretty much limitless. As Dawn Lee, my mortal enemy, stared me in the face, her face flushed, her sides heaving, sweat on her face, my eyes were flooded with blackness, and I felt power tingle in my fingertips. Darkness flowed from my hands, and I ripped a hole in the ceiling and flew out using a pole of the grainy black material I'd created sticking to my back. Dawn shouted after me, but even if she used her powers, she couldn't catch me. My powers were stronger, and either way, she didn't want to hurt me. I grinned with silent victory as I disappeared into the night.

I huffed, knowing at that point that I couldn't stop him. I cursed under my breath and shook it off, making my way out. My hair was up in a pony tail and my blue and white suit was a soft polyester. Luckily, it was destruction proof. it couldn't be destroyed... and that's why I loved it so much. There were multiple designs on each side, representing each of my traits. Some of the designs show my powers as well. I'm considered a "water element", but I have other powers as well. Most also say i'm a hybrid because I came with more than one power, even though only one of my parents were granted with one power, and the other never had any, I was special to the HHQ. (Hero Headquarters). I had invisibility, super speed, water motion, and teleportation. If I truly cared to transport to Jeremy, I would, but there are plenty of other times I could catch him. I walked out into the crowd of people who were asking questions about me and Jeremy. One of the reporters asked if we were dating sense I always let him escape, but I simply said no.
"He is attractive, yes?" A reporter asked, putting a microphone up to my mouth.
"Most people in the city would say yes, but his attitude does show how he truly looks like, so I may say that he is hideous in my eyes." I was lying, yet telling the truth at the same time.

I didn't have to hide somewhere. I didn't have to change my looks. I just had to act casual. I had lived in Malesonville my whole life, and even after committing crime after crime, I never had to change my lifestyle to avoid getting in trouble. All I had to do was avoid Dawn if I saw her, and if anyone did recognize me (which they rarely did), I would just find a way to keep them from speaking up. I'd never hurt anyone. That wasn't one of the things I enjoyed about being a villain. I always found ways to avoid harming others and still get work done. After I'd gotten home to my two-story on a hill overlooking the town, I changed into a T-shirt and shorts and climbed into my bed. I had a fence around my house, security cameras, attack dogs, and an alarm system more high-tech than the one at the jewelry store, so I didn't have to worry about being chased after my running away. I lived alone, besides the dogs; my queen-sized bed was always big and cold, awaiting me after a heist. The house itself was quiet. I'd had girlfriends before, but I'd never been in a serious relationship, as I said. They only loved me because I was handsome, not for who I was. If I didn't rob places all the time, I'd actually be pretty boring. I liked books, because the fictional characters' lives were so much better than mine; most of them had loving parents or a significant other, and went on adventures and always returned home unscathed. As for the villains, they always got caught, but that's what I liked about myself; I'd never gotten caught. I almost never kept my stolen goods, sure, but I'd never been in jail. I had a bunch of money from my dead parents, but one day it would run out, and there were no jobs that interested me, so I kept robbing stores. It was something to do other than read, or sit alone and pity myself.
I didn't get much sleep that night.

I finally passed through all the reporters and 'fans', making my way to my penthouse. Before I got into my neighbor, I used my powers to change my clothing. My suit turned into a blue tank top and white jeans with black sneakers. I walked to my door and I opened it, walking inside. It was silent. Cold. Lonely. I didn't have any pets... I'm out so much, that I wouldn't be able to take care of one. I didn't need anyone, though. I had my job to keep me busy. I probably would have to go out a few more times tonight, but it won't be much of a problem.

Sunlight filtered into my room from one of the many windows throughout the mansion. I sat up to see that I hadn't moved at all. Usually when I sleep, I'm restless, waking up in an entirely different position than the one I started with. But whenever I get little sleep, I stay more still than the statues around my house. This used to be my Dad's place; he proposed to my Mom under a statue of one of the love Gods or something. But when she said no, he went mad with sadness and rage, and he killed her with his power, golden light. He pierced a laser right through her heart. He threatened to destroy the house, but I stopped him. I'd only been about ten years old. My Mom was a normal human, which might be why she rejected him, but that doesn't explain how his light powers turned into my dark ones. Whatever. I can't dwell on the past. It only makes me mad, and when I get mad, I go insane. I can't go insane. I won't go corrupt with power. I won't hurt someone else. I won't.
I change into a tight grey T-shirt and ripped jeans, stabbing an earring into my ear and pulling a metal choker around my neck. I wear black Converse with white laces, then go out of the house. I wonder what I'll do today.
