Dawn

The car drive was terrible. She was sliding back and forth in the back seat each time her new owner turned. Luckily, it was short. The only thing Dawn wanted at that point was to get out, run away, or be at their new home so she could be alone. Though, what she didn't know was that someone would be there to greet her. Hopefully befriend her? Probably not. Once the woman parked at her house, she stepped out and took out Dawn.

She looked up to the blonde woman who grabbed and began to carry her. She closed her eyes gently from the soft rays of the sun gleaming into them. After a few moments, she found that the sun was gone and they were inside. She opened her eyes and looked around the house, spotting a light brown male cat with brown splotches. She kept a normal expression, not liking the fact that she had to share the home, but it was better than the animal shelter. The woman set down Dawn, who immediately began to wonder, enjoying the cold tile. She looked to the male cat and she kindly swished her tail; not wanting to get in trouble.

"I'm Dawn." She hopped up to where he was, padding her paws on the cushion before laying down. Her eyes glistened as she sniffed him. She then kept her distance, not knowing how he'd react to her company.

Siffrin

Siffrin had known that his owner was going to the cat shelter - he smelled cat on her - but he didn't know she was actually going to get a cat! The strange cat had walked up to him. He flinched as she sniffed him, but he didn't attack her. She settled down on the couch cushion and meowed, "I'm Dawn." Siffrin looked at her, trying to figure out if she was afraid of him or not. Finally, he meowed, "Hello, Dawn. I'm Siffrin." and started grooming himself. He looked at her again. "Had a tough car ride, eh?" he purred, glancing at her ruffled fur.

Dawn

She swayed her tail back and forth, rolling onto her back.

"Sadly, yes." She yawned, her legs resting on her body. "How long have you been in..." She trailed off, looking around the home. "Well, i'll say place." She had owners before in a large home, so she isn't used to small surroundings. Her old home had caught on fire so she was trapped. Her owners had died, but she escaped after being burned in areas. Her tail and paws were darker from being burnt, but her fur grew back decently. She shook a little from the thought of the fire, fear rushing through her veins.

Siffrin

"I arrived here..." Siffrin looked out the window, trying to remember when. "About a month ago. It was still spring, so I was able to be outside. That time was.... scary. I was a little traumatized of being outside, because of what happened before I was adopted." Siffrin looked away from the window, shaking his head. "But that was then. This is now. The past is behind us." Siffrin jumped off of the couch and started running to the kitchen. "Race you to the kitchen!" he hollered.

[Trots]

Dawn

She looked at him confused before rolling off the couch. She fell on her back and she winced before standing and bolting after him. She was in pain before the small fall, but she still was quick and agile. "Hold on!" She groaned, reaching the kitchen. She slid to a stop and ran into a cabinet. Her "quick cat-reflexes" weren't amazing from the trauma she was in before. She meowed and looked down at her paws, padding back and forth a little before looking at the male cat. "Sorry." She huffed, trying to balance her weight to where it didn't hurt as much.

Siffrin

Siffrin purred at Dawn's 'graceful' fall. He put his tail on her shoulder for a split second. "That's fine. I used to do that a lot, too." Siffrin padded over to his food and water bowl and started meowing like crazy. The human came running to the kitchen, and then put food and water in the bowls. "C'mon," he meowed, tilting his ears toward the bowls. "You can share it with me. I don't eat it all anyways." He sat down and waited for Dawn to take the first bite. "It's not as good as a juicy mouse or squirrel, but you learn to like it." He sighed and closed his eyes.
