unsurprisingly her phone had not provided much of a distraction. social media was dead, no texts or emails to respond to and going through her photos for the second time was too pathetic of an action for her to even consider. to be frank, all she wanted to do was leave - an action that was currently near impossible to achieve. she had already missed her first activity of the day and the thought made her slightly wince, uncomfortable knowing that the growing hole in her pocket was for nothing.
eventually the noise began to die down, causing the brunette to release a light sigh of relief. noticing a couple of workers show similar signs of relief, she figured that the fans had either been kicked out or the person they were seeking had left. either way, she wasn’t complaining - they were purely irritating in her opion, although she’d never express said irration. of course kendall understood wanting to see an idol or someone important to you but there were better ways to grant that wish instead of crowding a small coffee shop. she simply didn’t understand the fan’s behaviour - surely it would be better to be polite and calm instead of being hysterical and desperate? if fans acted that way the whole experience would be better for everyone; the fans, people around and the celebrities themselves.
she had been so invested in her thoughts and staring blankly at her phone that she didn’t notice the man approach the table until he asked her a question. looking up from her phone, kendall nodded ”sure” she replied, a small polite smile on her face. although she was extremely shocked to see such a good looking person want to sit with her, she didn’t take it personally - the table was right at the back snd partially out of sight from the majority of the cafe and more importantly, away from the majority of the fans.
now if kendall was anyone else, she would of been freaking out by now. if the brunette kept up to date with who was big in hollyowood and who wasn’t, she would of realised by now that wesley channing was sitting scross from her. but this was kendall - she didn’t care to keep up with the ‘it celebrities’ and therefore had no idea that the person sitting across from her was the reason for the cafe chaos. sure she had heard of the actor and his bad reputation but never cared enough to learn more. even though she was unaware that the person sitting across from her was a big deal, she was still socially awkward; she was horrible at starting conversations. so the girl simply pretended that an old buzzfeed quiz was the most interesting thing in her life instead of trying to start up a conversation with the stranger.
turns out the quiz was pretty boring and not worth her time; apparently learning what type of bread you are is not life changing. with a sigh kendall locked her phone and placed it on top of the table, risking a glance to see how many fans remained in the cafe. luckily only a couple of groups of fans remained yet is was safe to say a large amount of them were directly glaring at her with ... hate? jealously? she didn’t want to describe their looks that harshly but she couldn’t think of anything else to describe them with. it made her slightly annoyed that they were looking at her like that - she hadn’t done anything to them, what was their problem? the girl sighed and turned to look at the stranger sitting across from her ”so what do you think of this fun situation?” she asked jokingly, gesturing towards the group of teenagers.
