"We can... get through this together... I mean, if you really want to be with me..." I softly replied.
His body felt heated as I touched his forehead and cheeks.

"Hmm. I expected this. He just wants to be good ol' pals and nothing more. Why do I still feel heartbroken?"
I whispered, turning the other way, tugging the blankets tightly. My eyes felt teary and I wiped them before he could notice.

I rolled over, facing away, looking at my phone.

I turned it off, but couldn't fall asleep.
