Sighing gently, he stopped walking and gently pushed her against the side of an ally. " first though, I need to show them you are not theirs.. don't worry, I'm not going to take any blood. "I'm just curious as to why I know your name, and why you saw those... things." He said, noticing how her hands were clenched tightly. Daniel didn't like seeing people distressed and it hurt seeing Ayumi like this. If they'd never have crossed paths, none of this would've happened and they would've lead stress free lives. "I'm being honest, so don't worry. I wouldn't lie about it, the headache that followed the flashback was definitely not faked," he said and sighed. "Anyways, I'm sorry to change subjects, but do you still want me to show you that hotel?" he asked, crossing his arms. He didn't like the idea of her being out by herself, especially after last night, but she didn't trust him and he didn't want to make her more nervous than she already was. "We'll sadly have to walk since my car is beaten up, b-but if your ankle is still bothering you I can get a taxi." he stammered.

Harper let out a loud sigh, thinking about what she'd tell her mother. Lying and telling her she'd be on vacation would probably be easier than being paranoid about Kio getting found, and it'd save her a few lectures too. She'd have to think about it and come to a decision soon, which put a bit of stress on her shoulders. She wanted to fend for herself, but she liked being protected as well. "Fine, I'll... I'll tell her I'm going on a trip." she stammered, sounding unsure and even a bit nervous. The girl snapped out of it when he pushed her into the alley against the wall, the cold concrete against her back making her shiver a little. "At least you gave me some sort of warning this time..." she said with a sigh as he took her wrist. "O-Ow..." she hissed, wincing as his fangs entered her wrist. Blood welled up and dripped down the side of her arm as she watched the boy, gaze lingering a little too long before hesitantly looking at her feet.

''Hm....yes, um...I would still like for you to show me the hotel... '' sighing gently, she leaned against a wall. ''Y-yes...my ankle still bothers me, but..i...i should be able to walk.'' To be truthful, she wasn't looking forward to being out alone. Right now, she was afraid to be alone. what if that...that person came back, and what if she couldn't get away this time? What if she had another one of those flashbacks... ''but um...w-when your not working...w-would you mind keeping me company?"'

Once he felt he had stood their long enough, he licked up the blood that had ran down her arm. That was when he noticed she was watching him. Blushing, he crossed his arms and looked away. ''D-don't watch! It's weird.....''he huffed unhappily. After a few minutes awkward silence, he spoke. ''Anyways, so you've made a decision then? Alright...your going to want to pack some of your things for staying at the castle. '''

Daniel gave a little nod,"Okay, if it starts bothering you though, just let me know." he said. If her ankle acted up, he'd either get a cab or offer to let her stay at his place another night, but she'd probably refuse. After a small pause, he was a bit surprised to hear her say that. Keep her company? He thought she found him creepy, and he was a stranger. Maybe she'd changed her mind a little and had a little sliver of trust in him after he talked about his flashback. "U-um, I wouldn't mind at all..." he said with a slight grin,"I have today and tomorrow off, so I'll be around any time you need...er, wanna talk or something." He flushed, and after a second of awkward silence he stretched and gave a yawn. "Okay, lemme get dressed real quick. I don't wanna look like I just got outta bed, even though I kinda did," he said with a little laugh and turned into his room to get changed. He shrugged on a pair of faded and slightly ripped jeans and a t-shirt with a stupid pun on it. He then put on a jacket over it and tried to tame his hair to make it look less like bedhead and more like slightly less messy bedhead, but failed. He sighed and exited the room, shoving on a pair of white sneakers as he did so. With a sigh, he straightened with his phone in hand,"Well, let's get going." he smiled and walked to the door, opening it for the girl.

Harper let out a laugh at the light blush on the boy's face,"Aww, is pretty boy embarrassed?" she said teasingly, giving him a light shove as she rubbed the area on her wrist where he'd bit her. Her smile faded a little as she gave a nod,"Yes, I'll tell my mom I'm leaving for a trip," she said, letting out a small sigh. "How much stuff should I pack? I have a feeling I'll be there for more than a week..." she muttered as she turned out of the alley and waited for Kio to follow.

" i... I don't care if we talk or not, i.. I just don't want to be alone....." She spoke in a shame - filled voice. " truth is, right now I'm.. I'm scared to be alone. New town, things already happen..i ... your the only person here I've talked too.. I don't know you enough to trust you, but.." pressing her back against the wall, sitting against it. Letting him walk away, she realized something: she had ran here last night in pajamas. Now she was borrowing a shirt wayyyy too big for her. Unhappily she waited for him to finish getting ready, her thoughts returning to what she had been saying. " but i..i can't go home.. even if I wanted too.." whimpering slightly, she put her head between her arms, that were resting on here knees. I'm.. I'm alone.. all alone. There's some creep after me..i can't go home.. all I have is just this guy who somehow knew my name.. and now.. Now these weird.. ' visions ' are happening... she thought.

Daniel watched her, she looked absolutely pitiful. She'd forgotten she'd come here in pajamas, which had been soaked, so she was now wearing one of his shirts that was a bit too big for her. "Why can't you go home?" he asked, tilting his head. Were her parents... not very nice people? Did she even have a home? He chewed his lip as he thought about what to do. "Is it that guy you're worried about? Is that why you can't go home?" he asked as he grew concerned,"If it is, I can go with you to your house if you don't want to be alone..." he trailed off and let out a little sigh.

Harper shrugged,"I wouldn't mind at all," she said with a sly grin on her face. She then let out a deep sigh,"Alright, I guess I should head home then to warn my mom." she said, thinking about all the questions she was going to ask. Who are you going with? Where are you going? How long will you be gone? Blah blah blah. Staying with Kio would give her a nice, long break from her mother, but she didn't really know what to expect staying at Kio's home. Many people, including Kio, had said he was royalty. He'd also referred to his home as being a castle. She needed to prepare herself though, she knew she'd most likely be treated like dirt since she was a human, and she wasn't exactly rich either.

" well... that guy is why I don't want to return to my house, but... that house, isn't home... not really... " [i] but... where even is home, really...i only remember my adoptive parents, but not before... so where even is home, truly home." It was in that moment she realized she was crying. Sniffling, she clenched her fist and looked away. " what's it to you anyways? It's not any of your business why I can't go home... so don't worry about me. " though she tried to wipe her tears, they continued falling. He hardly knew her, yet he was worried? That made no sense... yet... after the previous nights events, she just wanted someone.. anyone, to be able to trust. To rely on. Slowly standing up, she silently walked over to him. Not looking at him, she just silently rested her head on his shoulder.

" yes, that should be our first stop... anyways, you don't have to look so afraid of going to the castle. Just stay by my side and in my territory and You should be fine. Unlike other vampires, my family does at least respect claiming marks. They don't take each others food.

Daniel frowned,"I'm sorry... maybe you just haven't found your true home just yet." he said,"But, you'll find it sometime, I know it..." he shuffled slightly closer to her when she rested her head on his shoulder, allowing her to cry on him. "It's hard to not worry about you, Ayumi." he said gently, glancing down at the girl. "I mean, you're by yourself, you've got a creep after you, and... " The boy trailed off, not saying what he'd wanted to. '...and you look sad' he thought, finishing the sentence in his head. "I just wanna help," he muttered under his breath as he sat next to the girl against the wall. He hated how selfless he was being towards this human, this girl, but he couldn't help himself. She was like a lost puppy, broken and alone with no home. She deserved better.

Harper nodded, not saying anything as she walked down the sidewalk. It bothered her how he referred to her as food, but it was better than being dead. Soon, her house was in view and she went inside, assuming Kio knew to stay outside. Harper's mother was on the couch, watching some boring soap opera on the television. She glanced up when Harper came through the door, looking a bit startled. "Wow, you're home early." she said,"Is everything okay?" she asked, turning down the volume on the tv. Harper simply nodded and smiled,"Yes, everything's okay. I just... wanted to ask if I could maybe... go on a trip?" she asked, a nervous smile on her face. "With who?" her mom asked, to which Harper gave her a few names off the top of her head of girls she sorta knew from school. Her mom paused for a moment, watching her a bit suspiciously as she thought about it. Finally, she shrugged,"Sure, just let me know how you're doing every once in a while." she said, smiling.

Harper grinned,"Thanks, I will." she said as she started up the stairs to her room. She probably wouldn't even remember to call her mother in all honesty, but she'd try to send her a text every once in a while just to let her know she was alive. She packed half her closet, some essentials, and a few miscellaneous things before trekking downstairs. "Bye mom, I'll see you soon." she said as she left the house, not giving her mother any time to answer. She returned to Kio with a couple of bags thrown over her shoulder,"Alright, I'm ready." she let out an exhausted sigh as she readjusted her grip on the heavy bags."That was... a lot easier than I expected..."

Silently she stayed with her head on his shoulder, staying silent as he spoke. It took a while, but she eventually responded. " i..i know I had a home, once... but..i don't remember where it was. Or the names of those who lived there with me... " though being reminded that there was a creep after her made her seriously consider in investing in pepper spray. Hmm.. yes, pepper spray would be a smart idea. Eventually she stopped crying, and just sat there, her head on his shoulder, in silence. For the moment, she let her guard down, letting herself fool herself into believing that she was safe there. By the side of a guy she hardly knew.

He waited by the tree outside her house, looking up as she approached. " alright then, let's go. We have no time to loose. I'd Like to get to the castle as quick as possible so we have to spend as little time there as possible. I don't like spending my time there, they don't like my ideas. "

"I'm sorry..." He said quietly, wondering if she'd ever remember the people. Maybe these flashbacks could help her remember, but from what they'd discovered the flashbacks weren't exactly... nice and happy. He sat against the wall with the head of a stranger on his shoulder for what seemed like an eternity, but he didn't want to leave or interrupt the quietness of it all. He had to admit that he could've fallen asleep again right then and there, but that would've been a bit rude. "You know, when I first saw you at the restaurant, you... seemed oddly familiar to me, like we'd met before," he said out of the blue, voice breaking the still silence. "I know it sounds ridiculous, and weird, and... stupid, but It... might explain the flashbacks."

Harper nodded,"Okay..." she said, thinking a bit about what he might mean by 'his ideas'. Maybe the others killed humans on sight, or they treated them like dogs or slaves. She shivered at the thought and clutched her bags tightly, her stomach twisted with nerves. She made sure she packed her trusty pocket knife just in case she needed it, not that it'd do any good anyway, but it wouldn't hurt to have it just in case. "What do you mean by that? Your ideas that is." she asked.
