When he nuzzled the back if her neck she flinched. She felt bad that she was somewhat afraid of him, but after tonight she couldn't help it. In apology she leaned back against him, closing her eyes. " if you say so. " she replied before trying to sleep.

He frowned, this time being the one to avert their gaze. " who...who said I've fallen for you? I could've just honestly thought that was the easiest way....." he stated awkwardly with a frown, putting a hand behind his head. " but um... uh...sorry I scared you...I guess....." he stated before walking away to a chair. "You um... you can have the bed. I'll sleep here."

Daniel noticed how she flinched and decided that he should probably keep his distance. After a while, once he was sure she was asleep, he carefully rolled over and turned off the lamp, the only light source in the room. He kept his back to her but stayed close enough so he could still feel her warmth. He hoped she felt better in the morning, he'd definitely have to have a talk with Kio soon. The boy lay awake for what seemed like an eternity before he closed his eyes, letting sleep overcome him momentarily.

Harper hid a smile as she noticed how awkward he'd become. She felt a small pang of guilt as she watched him sit in the chair, "I was teasing you, pretty boy, don't... don't take it to heart, okay?" she said, walking over to him. "I... didn't mind the kiss, b-but it'd be better if It didn't taste like blood..." she smiled as she knelt next to the chair and hesitantly took his face in her hands. Without really thinking, she closed the distance between them and kissed him. It was gentle and warm and... genuine, and it didn't taste at all like blood like the first one had. Time seemed to stop momentarily, and nervous thoughts ran through her head of how he'd react. She soon pulled away, finding that her hands had made their way into his hair. She blushed fiercely as she fell back to her knees, "S-see? th-that was better..." she spoke, her voice shaky,"...S-sorry," she muttered.

At some point he had fallen asleep, and she had woken up with her back against his. Then, after a few minutes of contemplation, she determined she didn't like it. So, she rolled over , and put her hand on his shoulder, trying to gently move him so she could put her head on his cheast

It would be a lie to say he Was surprised by her actionsactions- he was bewildered. Not once had he ever expected that to happen. However, when he did, he smiled happily. " well then..... " he said, smiling. Afterwards he picked her up gently and set her on the bed, cuddling up to her carefully. " but your injured even if your healing will be temporarily increased. , so you need to rest."

Daniel was barely sleeping, passing in and out of deep sleep and being awake. He felt a hand on his shoulder, gently rolling him onto his back. He let out a small groan in protest before opening his eyes, a smile forming when he saw it was Ayumi. He didn't say anything as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close to him, "Mm... what time is it?" he asked with a small yawn.

Harper let out a small squeak when he picked her up, she had not been expecting that either. She winced when she was sat down on the bed, but arranged herself to where she was comfortable. She was extremely embarrassed about what she'd just done, and the reality of it was just now setting in. "Y-yeah, I-I know...." she muttered, keeping her back to Kio so she wouldn't have to look at him. 'God, why did I do that?! He probably thinks I'm some... creep or something. I didn't mean to.... do that. Why, why....' she rambled to herself in her head. She almost jumped out of her skin when he cuddled up next to her, "S-Sorry about... what just happened," she forced out, "W-Will I be healed by morning? Or... will it take longer than that..." she asked, quickly changing the subject.

She grumbled at his speaking , instead putting her head on his chest, right below his chin. " I dunno..." she eventually said as she cuddled against him.

He smirked out how embarrassed she seemed. " hm... you should be better in about a week. While our blood helps itll still take time, and human bodies can't handle the full speed of our healing.

Daniel smiled and held her against him, "Go back to sleep, sleepyhead," he whispered into her hair before placing a kiss on the top of her head. He lay awake for a little while, thoughtlessly stroking her hair until she fell asleep. He followed soon after and didn't wake until early morning. The sun was barely over the horizon when he startled himself awake, the lady from the front desk had been in his dreams and was just about to... try to bite him? Weird. He shifted slightly and gently shook Ayumi, "Hey, wake up," he said softly, not wanting to startle her. “I know it’s early and all, but we gotta hit the road soon.”

"Ah, s-so not too long..." she muttered in reply. After a moment of silence, she let out a sigh before reaching over to shut off the light. "...night," she whispered as she rested her head on a pillow. She soon fell asleep, her mind empty of dreams and nightmares that night, just darkness. When she awoke that next morning, she felt surprisingly well rested despite being up so late. She found herself face to face with Kio, who was sleeping quietly next to her. She tried her best to quietly roll over and sneak out of the bed without waking him, but it creaked loudly and she winced as she felt her feet hit the floor.

Harper sighed a breath of relief as she saw he hadn't woken up. She rummaged around in her bag, quietly, before retreating to the small bathroom. She shut the door behind her and looked at her healing face, only a couple light bruises remained and her split lip was healed except for a small scar. She went ahead and showered and changed into a pair of clean clothes, a pair of ripped light blue jeans and a cream colored sweater. When she was finished, she grabbed her things and walked out, shoving the dirty clothes into her bag. The shower had helped, especially with the blood smell that had radiated from her.

Slowly she opened her eyes, sending him a 'seriously?' Look before groaning and closing her eyes again, burying her face in his chest. " never" she spoke in response to him saying she needed to ger up.

" good night, little tiger" he replied to her before closing his eyes . In the end he fell asleep content, not waking until after harper- had showered. . He smiled , however, when he saw her face again that morning. " you're looking better today. " he stated as he stood up. " you done in the shower?. " he asked, knowing he could use a shower himself.

Daniel laughed at the look she shot him, "I know, it's early, but we gotta go, honey." he said softly and kissed her forehead. He didn't want to leave the bed either, especially with Ayumi cuddled up against him. "You can sleep some more while I drive, okay?" he said before slowly untangling himself from her. "I'm gonna change real quick, you'd better be up by the time I'm done," he said with a smirk as he sorted through his bag for clothes. He went to the bathroom and freshened up and changed out of his sweats. He hoped that the drive would be as calm as possible, with no vampires trying to attack them or crazy humans. They just had to stay low and blend in to the crowd, which wouldn't be too hard.

Harper gave him a slight nod, "Yeah, you can use it," she said as she sat on the end of the bed and tugged her shoes on. "Th-thanks, I feel a lot better... Your blood works miracles," she mumbled as she tied her shoes. It really had, the more she moved around the less she noticed the pain she had felt yesterday. She was still sore, but it was a distant, dull ache. The bruises on her body were like the ones on her face, they were faded as if she'd gotten them a week ago.

She grumbled incomprehensibly as he spoke to her, followed by a death-glare when he started sitting up. Hence why by the time he got out of the shower, she was just sitting up sense he woke her. Needless to say, she had major bedhead and wanted to go back to sleeping.

'' I'm glad your feeling better, but don't overdo it ok? Like I said it'll take about a week for you to heal completely. Also I can't give you my blood every time you get a severe injury. If a human takes too much vampire blood to heal, eventually the vampire dna will start attacking the human dna, resulting in a very slow and painful transformation into a vampire. ''

Daniel hummed as he gathered his things and opened the bathroom door, finding Ayumi looking like a disaster. He stifled a laugh as he put his things into his bag. “Hey, bedhead, it’s your turn,” he said, ruffling her messy hair. She looked as tired as he felt, he’d probably be in bed until one or two in the afternoon if they didn’t have to leave so early.

Harper hesitantly met his gaze, a light blush spreading across her cheeks. “Y-yeah, I... I know.” she muttered as he hugged her. He’d made it pretty obvious, but Harper didn’t want to believe that somebody actually cared for her. “I’ll try to be more careful, I don’t necessarily want to turn... it... sounds painful when you put it that way,” she winced slightly.
