She nodded, following him out to the car and swiftly getting in. Once in she buckled jer seatbelts, staying quiet.

Kio
Once daniel exited the house, he instantly turned on the ignition, ready to leave. " your cutting it pretty close there, daniel. " he spoke. Once Daniel got in his car and buckled in, kio immediately got the heck out of there, trying to be quick yet not suspicious.

Daniel backed the car out of the driveway and followed Kio. He was a little worried for them, but he had a feeling they'd get out safely. "I'm sorry I got you involved in this..." he spoke, keeping his eyes on the road. Drops of rain hit the windshield as they drove on, the sky growing dark as the sun began to set. "We'll be happier elsewhere, though. I know it..." he said, taking her hand.

Harper watched Kio as he drove, he was tense and she could sense how anxious he was. She stayed quiet, however, until they were on the outskirts of town. There wasn't much out this far, maybe a house or two every few miles, but for the most part it was pretty desolate. Thick rows of trees lined the road but they soon dissolved into the darkness when the sun finally set. The girl was growing a bit sleepy, "How much farther?" she asked, "...are we far enough out? Do you think they're still trying to follow us?"

Ayumi
" ya... I hope so. Hopefully we can still get some answers somewhere eventually though. " she sighed, closing her eyes. " how long will it take to get out of town?' " she questioned wearily

Kio
" we're not even out of fiqn yet. Qe have to get past the guards on the perimeter . They've no doubt been warned we were heading out of town. Vampiric speed is also much faster than this car. Me and daniel will likely have to fight to get all of us out of here. "

Daniel sighed," Yeah, hopefully...." he muttered. He was getting a bit weary, they'd been driving for at least an hour or two now. He rubbed his eyes and tiredly looked at his rearview mirror, but he saw nothing except darkness. He hadn't seen any other cars following them, and there'd only been a few that had been going the opposite way. He thought it was a bit strange, but he'd never been down this road. A few more minutes of silence passed before a pair of headlights lit up the darkness behind them. Daniel didn't think anything of it until he noticed how fast they were approaching them. The mysterious car switched over to the opposite lane and sped past him before side swiping Kio's car.

Harper nodded and leaned her head against the cold glass of the window. She just wanted to get out of this town and to be safe for once, but that may never be possible when living in a world ruled by vampires. She froze when she saw a pair of headlights, that weren't Daniels, speed up and pass him. "Kio wa-" she was cut off when the car suddenly rammed into them. After that, everything went dark.

When she came to, she didn't know what had happened or where she was. Her head hurt and she couldn't quite keep her eyes open for more than a few seconds at a time. "Get off of me!" someone yelled angrily,"If you don't, I'll have my brother change his mind about letting you two go!" the stranger growled. It had to be one of the twins, they were like the King's henchmen. "No, I won't. You're awfully weak for a pureblood, by the way." said another voice. Daniel! Thank goodness they were alright, but... she needed out of this car, now. She couldn't feel her legs, or arms.... or anything really. Her heart sped up as the reality of what'd happened began to set in. "H... Help," she croaked out, her voice raw.

Kio was starting to fall asleep himself when someone suddenly side swiped his car. " the hell?!" He had time to shout before he momentarily blacked out. When he came too, he instantly felt pain of various cuts. He was more concerned about Harper. " harper!" He shouted, not sure of she was in the car still or not.

Ayumi
Everything happened so fast she wasn't able to comprehend it all. One moment everything was fine, the next daniel is tackling one of the twins. Then she spots two others; a taller guy running towards kio, and then suddenly she felt a hand on her neck, and fangs pressed against her shoulder. " let my brother go. Now" the other twin spoke.

Daniel gave the twin a quick punch to the nose before releasing him, growling as he watched him scramble towards his brother. Blood was pouring steadily from his nose and he held his head back, trying to stop the bleeding. “There, now let her go,” he said,”Let us all go, actually. We were just on our way out of town, like you wanted.” He watched the King make his way to Kio’s car and a shiver ran up his spine.

Harper pressed her hands against each side of her head, attempting to dull the pain. She heard a voice and breathed a sigh of relief as she realized who it was,”Th-thank goodness you’re alright..” she forced out,” We need to get out of here..” she began to undo her seatbelt, or try to anyway. She jumped when she heard a car door open,” There you are, sweet brother,” hissed the King as he ripped Kio out of the car and onto the ground. “We wouldn’t have done this if you had just behaved,” he spat. Harper finally got herself undone and got out of the car,”H...Hey!” she yelled, her voice cracking,” Stop it!” she limped over to Kio and knelt next to him,”We... we have to go...” she said, tears welling in her eyes. The momentary shock induced sadness was washed away by waves of anger. “Just... let us BE!” she snarled through hot, angry tears. The King took a step back, his eyes wide. There was something in them, something she’d never seen before. Fear.

Harper clenched the knife Kio had given her as tightly as possible, her body trembling as she stood up and took slow, unsteady steps towards the vampire before her. “What d-don’t you understand!” she growled. “We... w-we want to leave, to... be happy for once. If I have to go through you... then so be it.” she hissed. The King gave a false smile as he watched the girl, this human, threatening him. He laughed,”But you’re nothing, brat. You’re another human that will eventually die, just like everyone before you, just like Alice.” he sneered, giving Kio a cold look. “You’re only temporary, and so is this... thing that you two have. It’ll never last. I’m only trying to save my brother, to save him from repeating all of this. But, if it requires force, then so be it.” he grinned.

Kio
He yelped as his brother yanked him out of the car, afterwards shoving him to the ground . He grimaced, looking up at Harper. " brother, I'd rather be happy for a short time than live an eternity in agony" he hissed, looking up at Harper. " just... just go, Harper. I promise I'll find you again. " he stated, grimacing again in pain. Then he smelt blood. ..Harper's blood. She must be injured. He wanted to check on her, but something else was there. Once more he grimaced, but for different reasons. He was injured. He needed blood to heal. And right now, she smelled how a siren's song sounds.

Ayumi
She ran back to daniel quickly, wrapping her arms around him.

Meanwhile, the twins went to help protect their eldest brother from Harper. " drop the knife, human. Your not trained I'm sure. You don't know how to properly wield that weapon. Where'd you get it anyways?"

Harper ignored Kio, no way was she going to run from this and leave him for dead! She eyed the vampire in front of her, "Oh, you really underestimate me," she snorted. She had plenty of experience with knives and the correct ways to handle them. She was somewhat of a delinquent and she hated to admit it, but it was coming in handy now. "You two ask too many questions, you should really shut up," she hissed, glaring at the twins. She returned her attention on the King, who still had a scared look in his eye. "I may be temporary, but you are too, especially now that I have this," she said, raising the knife and running her finger along the blade. The King bared his fangs, "Are you threatening me?!" he growled, but before he could say anything else, Harper closed the distance between them and pointed the knife to his chest. "Yes, I am." she stated, "Now, let us leave," she said sternly.

The King shot the twins a quick look. He could feel the blade sizzling against his chest and he knew he needed to make a decision quickly. The human before him was serious about killing him, and she could easily do it. She had to have gotten it from Kio, there was no way she could've received it from anybody else. He let out a deep sigh and frowned, "We aren't done with you yet, human." he hissed as he moved away from her, "Same with you, brother," he growled, "We'll find you again to finish business..." he walked down the road and disappeared into the darkness.

Daniel kept Ayumi tight against him as he watched the King walk past him, the twins following behind. They gave him disgusted and disappointed looks which Daniel ignored. "Let's go make sure they're alright..." he said to Ayumi, breaking their embrace. As he approached the two, Harper had gotten to Kio's level and was checking his wounds. He didn't look nearly as bad as Harper, but they were still beaten up from the wreck. "Your car still works, right?" the girl asked as soon as she noticed he was there. She sounded as tired as she looked. "Yeah, it does. I'll help you with him," he said, kneeling down next to Kio. The two helped Kio to his feet and lead him to the still intact car and into the back seat. Daniel retrieved their bags before driving away, leaving the horrific scene behind them.

Harper gave Kio a tight hug, as tight as she could manage with how weak and bruised she was. "I know you need blood, go ahead," she said with her face buried in his shoulder. She didn't think her body could manage to lose any more blood, but she wanted Kio to heal.

Ayumi
As the king and the twins walked past them, she tried to avoid looking at them. She didn't move again until daniel said to go help them, in which she willingly obliged. All had gone decently, she found, until they got in the car. They hadn't gotten to far from the scene when she felt a sharp, intense pain in her arm. " the heck?!" She spoke unhappily as she looked at kito.

Kio
To be honest, he was rather amused by Harper and his brother. Was it a serioousand potentially deadly situation? Yes. But he had never seen Harper act so much like a delinquent, nor had he ever realized his brother didn't know how to defend himself against a human with a hunter's weapon. So to him there was still something vaguely funny.
" you really are a little tiger aren't you? He chuckled weakly.
" your brave, little tiger... an idiot, but brave... you realize he will be back, right? Probably once he's more prepared...he will be back. "

When they eventually reached Daniel's car, and Harper hugged him, he inhaled sharply at the smell of her blood. " I cant, harper... not right now. You'll die of I take any...." he stated quietly as he gave her a pained look with a dark crimson gaze.Then he turned his gaze to Daniel. Afterwards he gave Daniel an apologetic look before he gently pushed Harper away and leaned forward, sinking his fangs into Ayumi's arm. It likely wouldn't help mich, of at all, but he couldn't risk losing harper.

Daniel jumped at Ayumi’s voice, he’d been zoning out already and he might’ve been slightly in shock of the evening’s events. The tone of her voice made him nervous,”Wh-What? What’s wrong- What are yo-“ he stopped when he saw Kio drinking from Ayumi’s arm,”What the heck, you could’ve at least warned her!” he hissed, glaring down at him while also trying to keep an eye on the road. He understood why he was doing it, him and Harper were both in bad shape. A little blood wouldn’t hurt, but he wouldn’t let him do this again. “Don’t get carried away...” he hissed, focusing back on the road. “I’m sorry, Ayumi. Just let him do it, Harper’s... lost enough blood already...” he told her with a sorry look.

Harper was too weak to stop him, to tell him she didn’t care if she passed out or not, but it was too late. She watched him lean over and bite Ayumi. She winced when she cried out in surprise and looked away, her stomach feeling sick. “You’re so rude,” she muttered before shoving the boy with her foot. She let out a small sigh and leaned her head back and shut her eyes,”H-how long til we’re somewhere... somewhat safe?” she asked. “I’m not sure, but we made it out of town a while ago. We’ll probably have to stop at a motel for the night...” Daniel replied. The girl sighed again, she hated motels but she desperately needed sleep, and a shower.
