" have you never watched the news of this town? On occasion it's made public... but I guess in most cases its kept secret. Not all of those human disappearances are because a vamp got hungry. Sometimes it's because they fell for a vampire. Then, if the vampire had fallen for the human as well, the punishment is made public. " one of the twins then left to go check on the king. Meanwhile the other stayed with daniel. " and were not brainwashed. You are. Unlike you, we know the pain a human can cause ."
Kito
" nope. The guys a mad scientist, that's what he is. " he stated as he knocked on the door, which was swiftly answered by quite a sight. A vampire stood there in a bright Hawaiian tourist tee, khaki shorts, bunny slippers that had little felt fangs, and steampunk goggles. " Kito, what's up- on, wait who's this? She's quite interesting. Is she smart? I could use a new assistant. " the eccentric vampire placed his arms over there shoulders. " so, how can I help ya today?" He asked, escorting the two into the building.

Daniel watched the two with a blank expression, half listening to what he was saying. “I’ve caused them enough pain,” said Daniel, getting progressively more annoyed by this guy. “I’d rather not see them suffer because of our kind. I want to make things right and... make amends for everything.” he doubted this vampire knew what pain actually felt like besides the occassional sting of hunger. Rediscovering all the emotions from the flashbacks and remembering the terrible things he’d done had caused him enough pain. “Anyways, we’re going now,” he stated, turning from the vampire and taking Ayumi by the shoulders. His grip was tight but not hard enough to hurt her, he didn’t want the vampire to try and take her away and use her against him.

Harper was stunned to say the least. Kio had been right, this guy was very strange. She held back the urge to laugh as the guy introduced himself, he didn’t look anything like a scientist. “Erm, I’m with Kio. We... got into a bit of trouble.” she said, following the man inside. “I’m not going to be your assistant either, sorry.” she added with a fake sigh of dissapointment.

Ayumi

--the vampire growled, but he didn't go after Ayumi. No, he went after Daniel, grabbing his throat. " I'll cut you a deal- you stay here and have a nice chat over some blood in a cup, and I'll let that little human run."

Kio

The eccentric vampire laughed, leading the two to a couch in the middle of a room full of stuff; papers and books scattered everywhere, a gadget here and there, test tubes, you name it, filled the room. " nonsense, you can just be my assistant once this all settles down. I'm sure Kio won't mind too much. " he then sighed, looking at Kio. " so, brother finally decided he was done letting you be with a human eh? And here I thought maybe Alice's affect on the lot of them was still in here. " kito then proceded to tell the story, and what he needed. " hm... a car, eh? I suppose I can help ya out, but just at a small price "

Daniel released Ayumi and clawed at the vampire's hands around his neck. He didn't trust this guy at all, but... he wanted Ayumi to be safe and far from here. "F-fine! Just let me go!" he gasped. "A-Ayumi, go! Don't... don't worry about me!" he yelled, finally breaking out of the vampire's grip. "I'll go as long as you promise to leave her be," he hissed. "If you don't keep that promise... you'll regret it," his eyes flashed red with anger.

Harper gave a small snort and shot Kio a look, her eyebrow raised. He'd better mind, or she'd be very angry with him. She took a seat on the arm of the couch, unsure of what was lurking in the depths of the cushions. She listened to the older man talk, wincing slightly when he mentioned Alice. She knew that was a sensitive topic for him and it made her feel bad for him each time her name was mentioned. "What price would that be?" she asked, feeling a small pang of fear.

Ayumi
She frowned, reaching for his hand. " i'm not going to leave you here! What if-" what if they make you forget me again? she had other worries too. What if they hurt him? Withdrawing her hand she looked at him, scared, before nodding and walking away.

" well, as long as you don't give us reason to break our agreement, there will be no issues . However, if you think your going to intimidate me, your sorely mistaken. "
He did, however, applauded himself in his head. He had merely agreed he and his identical twin would leave the human girl alone. The same could not be said for his oldest brother, or the youngest.

Kio
He sat on the couch, relaxing comfortably. When Alice was mentioned he frowned, but otherwise maintained silence. " you need not worry, Harper. Generally his requests aren't too unreasonable. " he spoke, before the other spoke again. " ah, where are my manners. Well, Harper, my name is Akateko. I only requests a simple thing from each of you. From you, I request a simple answer to a question; how does one exactly make a cheese cake? Cheddar and vanilla don't quite go well together. Then from you, kio, I'd like another sample of your blood. I still haven't been able to figure out why you can suppress your instincts more than others, not why it caused your split personality. "

Daniel gave Ayumi one last glance and mouthed 'find harper' before focusing back on the vampire in front of him. Harper was the only person he knew that would be in fairly safe hands right now, and hopefully, she'd find her. They couldn't have gone too far, right? Daniel was already regretting this, but there was no turning back now. "Get to the point," he growled, "I don't have time to listen to you raise your own confidence,"

Harper gave the man a nod and breathed an internal sigh of relief. Good, she didn't have to give up blood, "Nice to meet you, Akateko," she said, giving a lopsided smile. "Cheesecake is made from cream cheese, silly." she giggled. Her smile faltered when he mentioned Kio having a split personality. She hadn't even noticed or realized for that matter. "I didn't know most vampires couldn't control the instinct," Harper muttered, "Well, as good as Kio that is..." she added, glancing to the boy next to her.

Find Harper? How the heck was she supposed to find Harper? She couldn't track scents like a vampire.

Meanwhile, his twin went a found their older brother. " brother, we've caught at least the other vampire here that was exposed for being in a relationship with a human. "


Kio
Akateko frowne confusedly. " cream... cheese? So, cheese mixed with a creme of sorts?" He looked genuinely bewildered. " anywho," he stated, preparing everything he needed to extract some of kio's blood. " most vampires, especially the halflings and changelings that make up most of the percentage, have difficulty controlling their instincts. Kio here is a peculiar case. He can control it, generally, so well, that the more instinctive and emotional part of him has become-" koi growled st akateko, warning him to be quiet. " ah, it appears I've angered him. Apparently he doesn't wish for you to know about it. "

Daniel looked over his shoulder again, watching the girl go. She just had to follow the road and steer clear of being spotted, the two hadn’t gone too far and the car they had escaped in was easy to spot at least. He had faith in her. The boy didn’t say anything until the King showed up, looking incredibly annoyed. “Ah, you were the one that was brought in after my brother,” he said with a loud sigh. “You too have relations with a human, am I wrong?” he asked, looking down on Daniel. The boy just glared at him, which prompted the King to continue. “You know, my top priority is finding my dear, dear brother and helping him not make the same mistakes he made before. I don’t have time for a meager little ant like you,” he paused, looking at the twins. “Let him go, but make sure he leaves town. We don’t need anymore of this... scum infesting and brainwashing everybody,”

Harper listened to Akateko explain everything as she watched him prepare for the blood extraction. She nodded along,”That’s... different.” she said,”I would think pureblooded vampires would be the most... er, instinctive than the others.” she then rose from the arm of the couch and sat next to Kio, sinking down into the cushion. “He’ll tell me about it when the time comes, won’t you?” she asked.

Ayumi
With a frown she trudged along the street, looking for anyone who even vaguely looked like harper- though she could hardly remember what the girl looked like.

Nodding, he tightened his hold on Daniel. " he will be cast out immediately then, and we shall send someone to retrieve his belongings. " he then glanced at Daniel, watching him carefully. " and the human? What is to become of her?" He asked curiously. " at the moment she is wandering about the town. "

Kio
Akateko laughed as he began drawing blood, amused by kio's reaction to Harper's question. " don't be so sure he will. By the look on his face, he doesn't look like he plans on telling you. Then again, the man does have a surprising amount of secrets. Not even Alice knew as much as you do now, Harper." Kio just looked away, silent. He didn't want to keep secrets from Harper, but he didn't want her to think less of him if he told her the truth.

The King thought for a second, pondering what he should do about the free human. "Ah, she's free for the taking," he said, a grin on his face. "Now be on your way, you've wasted my time enough already," he stated, waving his hand to shoo them away. Daniel gave the King an odd look before glancing at the twins. He shot one look back at the King before turning and sprinting down the hall and making his way out of the castle. He had to find Ayumi quickly before anybody else did. She couldn't have gone far and her scent was still fresh. He spotted her quickly, walking through the woods close to the road. "Ayumi!" he called, "Ayumi! They let us go, but..." he paused, catching his breath. "We have to leave... leave town," he said, sadness in his eyes.

Harper was fairly surprised to hear that. Was that really true? She gave a small shrug,"If he doesn't that's fine," she muttered. She knew he'd tell her when he felt like it and, if he never wanted to tell her, there had to be a good reason why. She watched the man draw the blood and cringed a little, she didn't like needles very much. She looked away and rubbed her arm gingerly, not saying anything.
