I nodded. His arm around me reassured me that we were fine. If it was on the power on the monorail that had gone out then we would be absolutely fine. If not we might run into some dinosaur problems but if someone had shut off the power I doubt that they were stupid enough to shut down the whole entire park’s power. I calmed down a bit now that my brain had actually thought the matter over. Still, who was behind all of this? Why were they doing it? It didn’t matter. What matter was getting off of the monorail. ”Of course. Do you need help? Or do they have emergency power on the monorail?” I seriously doubted they did as I hadn’t every been on a monorail with emergency power but maybe someone on this island was smart enough to.
I had a sinking feeling though. A feeling that whoever was behind this was testing Owen or I. It hit me like a rock. Vic was probably behind this. It was most likely another one of his tests on Owen. I hoped he was watching so he could see us out smart him. I shot back to Owen and the problem at hand. I could slap Vic for this later. For now, I wanted to stay out of the dark monorail. I grabbed my phone but it was dead. That was odd because I had charged my phone last night. I shook my head. I put back.

xxx I shook my head to answer her question. There was no way at all to be able to start up the power again from where we were. "Its a separate system, its just the monorail thats down. Probably also because of how many people are going to be coming here today. They will stick to shuttles instead of this." I tired to think positive. Its not like they haven't shut it down before. I climbed with the backpack on top of the chairs so that I could push the emergency hatch open. "Alright, you first okay?" I reached for her hand so that I could help her up. "Its not far to the landing point, we can follow the tracks. but it will be quite the jump to make it to the other side." I was determined to do this. I once again narrowed my eyes at the camera shaking my head for a second before turning back to dawn.

I hesitated a moment. It was a moment of doubt if you will. Not in Owen. I just didn’t know if it was really the tourist who were the cause of the problem. Nevertheless, I grabbed Owen’s hand and put both of mine on the outside of the monorail. I pushed up and pulled myself into the top of the monorail car. I waited for Owen. I was positive he would make it but I, one , didn’t know where I was going, and two, didn’t want to be without Owen in an unfamilur part of the park. If it was New York or another theme park I would’ve started walking on my own, knowing he would catch up, but we were on an island surrounded by dinosaurs. I thought better of it in other words. ”Are you battling a T-Rex down there?” I joked hoping to lighten the mood a little. At that point, I think both of us were a little worried but not so worried that we couldn’t think straight. Trouble seemed to be chasing us though. Slmehow, we managed to get out of it every time though. And I doubted this would be the last time we would have a little adventure such as this one. I sat down while I waited for it. It probably hadn’t been that long but it felt like 20 minutes to me.

xxx Dawn was a fast climber. I will have to take note of that for later at some point, we might need that skill. Once she was through it didn't take very long for me to prop myself up and climb onto the top of the monorail car."More or less" I saw the front of it as well as the tracks. Some were electrified, others weren't. I am sure that we can make it there by walking on the safe part. I looked over at her for a second. "Alright, just slide down, this is the fun part" I responded almost ignoring her comment from earlier. In some senses it was, constantly in a headlock with my boss. Wanting to prove that I was really the right person for this job. Causing me to have to think outside the box. I did as I had told Dawn we were going to do landing on the safe part and turning around to look at her. I did brace myself to catch her if she stumbled, Ive done this a handful of times so I am honestly not worried.

I braved myself before jumping down to join him. I was thankfully it wasn’t night or the dark would’ve been much worse. ”You lead the way. I’m right behind you.” I said with a smile. I think our trip might have to be cut short. After all, they were dealing with a lot at the moment. Well... not a lot. Just something that was sure to tire me out. Not to mention i probably needed to get back to Han and start working on that paper for the parks. Not to mention Owen really needed to get back to Blue. She was probably so worried. Maybe I should stay with him though. I couldn’t afford to lose anyone else. Especially not Owen. But that was because we were such good friends. And that I trusted him. Nothing more.

xxx I nodded and began walking down the track. Honestly I was dead paranoid that the electricity was going to come back on while we were on the tracks. I was constantly checking over my shoulder to ensure that we were not about to get hit by the monorail coming back for revenge after we ditched it. I took in a deep breath and stepped between a few of the tracks that were deprecated. One of the few of these as most of them were one long track which was nice. We finally made it to wheedle the platform was. “dawn, you are going to have to jump.” I said. I knew for a fact that I could barely make the distance. I will have to throw her across maybe... that’s when I started to hear the electricity coming back on.

"You need to go first Owen. I'm right behind you but you have to go first." I heard the electricity begin to return. There was no way I was letting him jump after me. It was too risky. He could get hit by the monorail and that wasn't okay. I knew he would have to listen me. I was stubborn and he knew I wasn't going until I knew he was safe. I had fought way too hard to find him yesterday for all of that to be wasted. It was a long jump. I wasn't even sure if I'd make it but I'd have to hope because we only had a few more minutes before we were shredded by the monorail. Whoever was responsible for this was sick.
I half expected Vic to be waiting when we left the platform ready to laugh and joke about how terrified we were. Which was false.
We had been worried. Not terrified. I stopped thinking about it. We needed to move quickly.

xxx I looked at dawn and looked back at the platform. There is no way she can make it on her own. I knew that decisions like this one were stupid and would probably hurt me later on when she mentioned it I took a deep breath and picked her up (gently). “no, you won’t make it.” It took me a second to realize what I was doing but I threw her over to the other side. To the best of my ability of course, she wouldn’t have made the jump. I took a few breaths when I turned to see the tracks beginning to light up. I had maybe two seconds. I closed my eyes and backed up two steps before attempting the jump. I was just too short. But managed to grab onto a pole with my hands trying to pull myself onto the main platform. One problem, my leg is numb. It must have hit the electric rails that the train runs on.

I tumbled onto the platform but quickly regained my balance. I watched Owen jump and my breath hitched. He wasn't going to make it. He did though. Well half way. I ran to where he was holding on and grabbed his arm pulling her up with as much strength as I could get. Turns out that training with K-9s and battling with them all the time helps with strength. I had never been so grateful for those long hours before. "Why does trouble seem to follow us everywhere we go?" It was true. I had only gotten into trouble with Claire because of arguing over Owne's whereabouts and now here we were. Just a few moments ago I had thought that we were going to be crushed by a monorail. Thankfully, Owen was quick on his feet. I laid on my back on the platform, my strength drained.

xxx everythung went past so quickly. Dawn managed to pull me up before the monorail came to a stop right where I had been. It would have pinned me in place Untill it moved. I don’t know what it would have done to me.. I didn’t want to think about it. I leaned against the pole trying to regain feeling and movement to my leg. It was still numb and not even the franilliar tingle of it falling asleep was hitting me. Was it paralyzed? I can’t say. I wanted to get up but I just sat there. I am determined to be able to make it to the place that I wanted to show dawn. I will make it and no one will stop me. “with a head of security like Vic, I suppose it’s to be expected” I replied between shaky breaths. Which was true. He did appear to enjoy messing with me..
