"Forgive my words, your highness, they came out of there own accord." Lucas responds quickly to the prince's words. He'd already realized his mistake as soon as the words left his mouth the only thing he could do now was to apologize and hope the prince didn't take his words to heart. While the prince didn't seem mad per say Lucas wasn't going to take any chance with the man he knew very little about, soul-bonded or not, the prince could very easily do away with him and no one would care one way or another. Lucas didn't have much interaction with the knights anyway, outside of the horses so he didn't worry much about saying the wrong thing in front of them. It seemed he'd just have to worry about that with the prince if he was going to be stopping by now.

Letting out a snort of amusement Lucas listened as the prince caught his own words, stopping himself from giving away what Lucas already knew. "I could just not take up the horses, but I get the feeling your stubborn enough to try and do it yourself or get one of the knights who knows how to do it for you." He replied while ignoring the prince's words to pretend he didn't hear the cut off remark. "Make sense that they would only tell them, which means you're only supposed to go out if one of them is here then, right?"

Ashton nodded, in acceptance of Lucas' apology. "I will, this time. But you must be careful about what you say in the future," he replied. He really didn't want to risk anyone else accidentally finding out that they were soulmates - and it was a concern for himself as well, since he was sure that he might accidentally let slip himself. He didn't want to have to be forced to make a terrible decision. The prince was also concerned about the knights, because he knew that they liked to eavesdrop on conversations - mostly so that they could exercise their authority, if they can reasonably justify it as 'protection of the prince', which he knew would be accepted by his parents anyway.

Ashton pouted once again, because he couldn't believe that he'd been figured out so easily. Then again, perhaps it wasn't such a surprise, but he wasn't going to admit that he could be quite predictable. He hadn't thought about potentially trying to do it himself, though... but he knew that he wouldn't be able to, since he had only watched someone tack up the horses before, and hadn't actually done it himself... but he could certainly try. "I could get a knight to do it, but then they'd insist on coming along as well, which would defeat the purpose of me going out alone... and yes, that's also true..." he dramatically sighed, because as far as he could tell, there was no way out of that. It had been worth a shot, though.

Lucas only nodded after hearing the prince told him to be careful, something he would be sure to remember in the future. The prince may have turned out to be his soul mate, but he was still the prince and a man Lucas didn't know anything about other than the power he held. It was a bit terrifying to think this man now held so much power over him, even more so than before hopefully if his hand played right though it wouldn't come down to that.

"I'm sure you'll find a way to go out by yourself if you wanted to, Micha is he when I'm not so if he doesn't know he'd let you out." Lucas told him with a shrug, still not sure about the prince going out by himself but at least it was just in the forest by the palace, so letting him do this was probably better than going into town by himself. The people may like the royal family right now, but there were always those who didn't or travelers from other countries who thought they could do something crazy. Lucas couldn't imagine being stuck in the palace out of fear or just because, but he wasn't a high class so maybe he just didn't get it.
