    "What?" I stared back at those piercing blue eyes of the elder angel, Castiel. "You heard me; this is important." His deep voice was stern and unwavering as he refused to repeat himself, not that I needed him to, anyway. I had heard the orders: guard Marie Archibald. We stood there for a solid two minutes silently. In my mind, I was imagining Castiel apologising and admitting that it was a mistake and he hadn't meant to ask me to do this. However, I knew that would never happen. Finally, I asked, "why? Why me? If it's so important, then why do I have to do this? Aren't you usually the one doing the serious stuff?" When I questioned him with a challenging tone, I was worried that Castiel would begin one of his long rants on how I should respect my elders and the orders they gave me. Instead, he answered, "It's all serious, Ezekiel." Predictable. "You'll find out in time. All you need to know is that this girl is seriously going to need guidance. Don't fail." When he said this, my hazel eyes met his with a blank stare, my mouth slightly agape at the vagueness of this assignment. "Wait, wait before you-" I didn't even get a chance to finish that question before I felt the familiar sensation of falling. The sudden feeling didn't freak me out like it used to, but it was an unpleasant surprise when you were sent down to earth without a bit of forewarning. It was dark; I couldn't see anything. Then, just as quickly as I had disappeared from Castiel's presence, I was standing in an apartment room in front of a dark wooden desk. Hanging just above the desk on the off-white walls was a mirror in which I met a pair of familiar hazel eyes. My light brown hair was tousled and somewhat messy, but I didn't pay much attention to that. The clothes I was wearing were certainly not something I would usually choose, but they weren't terrible. I was wearing a black denim jacket over a white, close-fitting t-shirt with black jeans. My gaze travelled around the room, observing my surroundings. Of course, it wasn't anything impressive. It never was. After turning a complete three-hundred-sixty degrees and taking in my surroundings, I looked back down at the desk. There sat a phone and a notepad which had writing- my writing- on it. A phone number and brief description scribbled in cursive with a blue pen. Bodyguard position- call: xxx - xxx - xxxx Picking up the phone, I frowned a little. It must be what they wanted me to do, but why? Hesitantly, I dialled the number that "I" had written down.

    (( I wasn't sure where I should stop or how he should get the position, so I just went with this. If you have a better idea, feel free to tell me and I can change it easily. ))

Postby stormi. » Mon Feb 26, 2018 7:32 pm

      Today had been an exhausting day to say the least. I had spent the majority of the day being dragged from one interview spot to the next, barely having a break to drink a sip of water. I knew fame was a full-time job, but I never realized how draining it would actually be. As my body sunk into the back seat of the Cadillac Escalade that had been rented specifically to drive me around today, I reached my arm across the seat to grab the white headphones that were hanging out of the side of my purse. It would be a little bit longer till I reached my destination, so I might as well squeeze in a quick nap. Once the headphones were in my hand, I quickly plugged them into the bottom of my phone and opened up the Spotify app. I pressed play on the first playlist that popped up, and then stuffed one of the earbuds into my ear. My eyes immediately began to close, unable to keep themselves open for a minute longer to take a quick glance out of the window in order to get an idea of our location. A long breath escaped me as I felt myself quickly drifting off to sleep, something I had been anxiously awaiting since the moment I climbed out of bed. Just as my body was about to hit full sleep mode, my eyes shot open at the sound of phone ringing. My eyes immediately shifted to look at my manager who was sitting on the other side of the back seat. I knew she could feel the deathly stare I was giving her from having my sleep disturbed, but just like usual she ignored it and proceeded to answer her phone, "Elenor Fields speaking, how may I help you?" she said. I listened carefully to her responses during the call, curious to know who she was speaking to. As I listened, I took a moment to think if I was expecting any calls. I had had a few auditions last week, but I already knew if I had gotten call backs or not from those, so I was unsure of who could be on the phone with her. In my head I was praying that it wasn't someone else calling to schedule another interview with me, but at this hour I knew that was most likely the case. I rested my head against the window and closed my eyes again, still listening to the conversation that was happening beside me, "You're calling about the bodyguard position? Great! It's a bit last minute, but interviews start tonight at six. If you're available, please stop by. If not, email me your contact information and we can see about scheduling another time if we don't find the right fit tonight," Elenor explained. I felt my chest tense up as I realized we were not headed home like I had hoped. Instead we were headed to the office to interview a bunch of potential bodyguards to protect me as I 'rise to fame', or at least that's how my team put it. Apparently this new movie role I got is going to change my whole life. It's based on a book that hit the shelves a little over a year ago. The book was a huge success, so they know the movie is going to be a big hit. The fact that I got this role so short in my career is a huge privilege, and people are not happy about it. So many actresses had been working their entire lives to land a role like this, so you can understand why I may not be the most popular girl within the Hollywood circle as of late. Either way, the fact that this movie hasn't even started filming yet and has already started making me a household name is insane, and is exactly the reason why my team has required me to find myself a bodyguard. I can't wait to see which poor guy gets stuck following me around all day. I already feel sorry for the dude.

      {[Sorry if there are mistakes, I'm slightly exhausted but I wanted to get a post up for you before I fell asleep.]}

    I was almost hoping that no one would pick up the phone, but of course, I was answered quickly. A woman's voice asked why I was calling, as expected. I forced the words out of my mouth as I told her that I was calling about the bodyguard position available. At her explanation, I responded, "Six works fine, thank you. I'll be there." Again, I didn't want to do this. Being a guardian angel sucks. Especially being a guardian for a celebrity. I'd guarded a famous person before, and let me tell you; they can be real arseholes. Not to mention the paparazzi, jealous fans, and endless amounts of irritating reporters that would never take no for an answer. Although I knew this much, in my time of being a guardian angel, never had I been a bodyguard. I'd been a friend of a celebrity's before. A rockstar, to be specific. Not my favourite three years on earth. Despite having looked after some horrible people, I'd never failed an assignment yet. Maybe that was why I was stuck again guarding a celebrity. After I hung up, I checked the time. Five-fifteen. I had forty-five minutes to figure out what the hell I was doing and get to the interview. Well, the first thing I needed to do was find out more about this Sutton girl. What better way to do that than Google? I had no idea if I even had that on this phone which, by the way, was an older LG smartphone. Not impressive. None of it ever was. At least it's not a flip phone like last time. The home screen was a default image of random pastel colours in an interesting design. On the screen was two apps: google maps and google chrome. Of course. New place, new surroundings, and no flying. I tapped on the google chrome app and waited for it to load. Once it was there with a strange sketch that probably resembled some event that happened this day a long time ago, I typed in, "Sutton Archibald." Multiple things came up immediately. Crap, that's a lot of results in... less than a second. Why's she so- oh. Well, that makes sense. I was scrolling through the results, finding that she got both a lot of love and a lot of hate. One of the most popular results was the movie she'd be starring in soon. It sounded like it was a big deal to get a roll in a movie like that? High-budget, made from a book, has other well-known actors in it as well... Yeah. I could see why she was so popular. Plus, I had to admit, she wasn't bad looking. Maybe not quite my cup of tea, but that just made it easier for me. It was unfortunate that she was so young, as young people tended to be persuaded more easily by temptations, but perhaps that was why I was here. My body appeared as a twenty-one-year-old male here. The question of why could be easily answered: I had to be at the top of my performance. This body which I had gotten used to would be in its best state at about the age of twenty-one. Plus there was the fact that if I ended up staying here for years, I'd have to deal with ageing. For all I knew, I could be here for ten or more years. It'd happened before. Yes, I could keep myself from ageing. I could look like anything or anyone I wanted to, really. However, I couldn't change once I was here because I had to legally exist. That meant no changing bodies. As usual, I was Greyson Faust. What I was experienced in varied. Maybe it wasn't best to attempt being a bodyguard at age twenty-one, but I could prove myself easily if they needed me to.
    After doing a bit more research, it was already about five-forty-five. Now I had to find out where I was going. That was when it hit me that I had absolutely no clue where exactly I was supposed to go. The notepad had only had a number on it. Curiously, I picked up the small book of yellowish lined paper. There was no other writing on it. When I turned the page, though, that was where I found the address. Well what was the point of that? You couldn't have just put it on the same paper?... Okay then. Rolling my eyes, I shoved the notebook in my pocket, took the phone, and headed out the door to find my destination. And, of course, they couldn't bother to get me a car. I sighed, shaking my head and walking towards the street. It was busy, cars passing by quickly with people who needed to be places. I definitely didn't miss traffic... but hey, at least cars exist, right? It's better than when we had to walk everywhere. It didn't take long for me to hail a taxi. The man in the taxi asked me where I wanted to go and I pulled out the paper once again, reading the address aloud.
    A ten-minute drive later, the taxi pulled over by a building which I'd never seen before. This whole area was unfamiliar to me. The only reason I knew where I was was that I'd checked google maps already. When I checked my pocket, I found a black leather wallet. There wasn't much money in it, but it was more than enough to pay for the ride. Once the ride was paid for, I got out and walked to the building. This is the stupidest thing I'd done, really. A bodyguard? I look like I just got out of high school, honestly. Like a kid who could still be living with his mom because he's got no clue what he's doing with his life yet. Yeah. great plan, guys. I could think of so many better ideas.

    (( I feel like this really isn't great and I could have put so much more detail, but... eh... ))

      "Sounds great. We look forward to meeting you!" Elenor replied. The conversation was short and to the point, and from Elenor's responses, I assumed that the person on the other line had agreed to come for the six o'clock interview time. I was thrilled to know that another person wanted to apply for the job of protecting me. Just kidding. The whole idea of having to sit in a conference room for multiple hours tonight, screening candidates in order to make sure we make the right decision, just sounded like a nightmare to me. I could think of a lot of other ways I would've preferred to spend my night. An irritated sigh immediately escaped me as Elenor hung up the phone. Apparently my sigh had been louder than intended, because next thing I knew she was lecturing me about tonight,"Sutton, this is for your own safety. You might not care about your well being, but I can't afford to have my biggest client get attacked by some crazy people," she explained. All I could do while I listened to her talk was roll my eyes. In fact, all I ever did when she spoke to me was roll my eyes. Don't get me wrong, I love Elenor with all my heart. She was one of the only people to take a chance on me, and I will forever be grateful to her for that. But with that being said, she can be a pain in my butt sometimes. She doesn't seem to understand that I'm about to turn twenty, and would really appreciate the opportunity to be a normal twenty year old from time to time. I knew what I was signing up for when I signed with Elenor to be my manager, but I just didn't think that I would be this busy all of the time. I rarely ever just get to sit at home and do nothing, or even just hang out with my friends unless it is for some big event. As much as I hate saying it, sometimes I regret becoming a Hollywood actress. That's a terrible thing to say. I need to be grateful for the life I'm living. So many people have put so much time and effort into my career, so the least I can do is appreciate all the nonsense they put me through.My gaze quickly flickered back over to Elenor as I realized I had yet to reply to her, "I'm sorry, Elenor. I truly do appreciate you looking out for me. I promise I'll try to stay positive about this situation, I'm just a bit cranky because of my lack of sleep," I explained. While I was mostly just trying to get her off my back, my response was somewhat true. I did appreciate her always looking out for me, and I truly was sleep deprived, but I wasn't sure how positive I would remain throughout this whole process. There were a lot of applicants interviewing for this position, and though they would sit through screening before I actually had to meet them, I would still have to sit in that building until it was time for me to step in. While this whole bodyguard situation wasn't my favorite thing, I also did appreciate the fact that my team was letting me make the final decision. They were going to narrow it down to a few select candidates, but then I got to choose who I wanted to be my bodyguard after interviewing them myself. Even though I would never admit it to anyone, a part of me was actually looking forward to the responsibility of choosing a bodyguard. With this career, everyone always makes choices for me, and most of the time there isn't even room for my input or suggestions. Sometimes I just feel like I'm a child, even though I'm almost twenty. So the fact that I'm actually being given the chance to make an adult decision is a pretty big deal for me.

      As I started to close my eyes to try and squeeze in a nap, I noticed that the car was turning down a familiar side road, and was eventually coming to a stop. This side road was one I had become way too familiar with. I could spot it at any time of day, no matter if the sun was shining bright or if it was pitch black outside. This was the side road that led to the back entrance of the agency building. The agency wanted to ensure that all of its clients could exit and enter the building without much hassle from paparazzi, so it was basically the only door I ever used to get into the building. After digesting the fact that I wouldn't be getting much sleep tonight, I sat up in my seat and reached for my purse. I quickly wrapped my headphones around my phone and then dropped my iPhone into my bag. After that was done, I unbuckled my seatbelt and exited the car once the driver had opened my door, "Thank you, George. Have a nice rest of your night!" I said as I walked passed the driver when I exited the car. I quickly met Elenor at the other side of the car and then walked beside her as we entered the building. We had rented the Escalade to make sure that my vehicle wasn't recognizable to the paparazzi. The last thing I wanted was to tip them off that I would be in the office, and then have to deal with them when I was finally able to head home. As we walked towards the elevators, I turned to face Elenor, "Make sure the select few I get to meet are not too old and at least somewhat attractive. If I have to be around this guy all day, I would appreciate it if he was a nice face to look at," I explained. I could see my comment agreivated Elenor a little, but I didn't care. I meant every word I had said, and I just hoped she would listen. Once we were in the elevator, I leaned against the wall and glanced over at my manager, "My main priority is making sure this person will protect you at all costs, not seeing if he is attractive. Hopefully you can get the best of both worlds, but if the unattractive guy is the one who has proven he is capable of protecting you, just know that is the one you will be choosing," she said firmly. I could see a slight smirk pulling at the corners of her mouth after she had finished speaking, which told me she was proud of her statement. Don't ask me why though, as I didn't find any ounce of what she had said to be comical, but that was just Elenor. Elenor didn't have any kids, so she enjoyed moments like these where she could play the mom role with me.

    I stood silently in a room with one other man, who looked to be middle-aged. His dark brown eyes met mine for an awkward moment. In that short second, I knew the well-muscled, tan, older man was judging me. I looked away; I couldn't care less what anyone thought of me or my appearance. Except for Elenor and Sutton, of course. I had no idea what they were looking for, but I assumed that casual, unkempt, young, and thin were not on their list. So I wasn't exactly skinny; I could beat a lot of guys in a fist fight, but compared to the guy next to me, I looked like a wimp. It made me wonder how I even got this far. We were both waiting to be interviewed for the final time before they decided who would get the job as Sutton's bodyguard. Just as earlier, I didn't really want to do this. I didn't typically like guarding celebrities, so I wasn't looking forward to getting this job. The silence in the room stretched for maybe five more minuted before the door opened quietly. The other man who had gone before us, who was somewhere in his late twenties or early thirties, walked out confidently. He pushed back his mid-length, dark brown hair as he walked past me. The arrogance radiating from him was unbearable. He clearly knew he looked impressive and intimidating, but the overpowering narcissism I could tell he had ruined it. Partially because I didn't want to stand near him and partially because I wanted to get this over with, I walked into the conference room after him. The second to be interviewed. Oh, joy. When I walked in, I immediately saw the two women who I assumed were Elenor and Sutton. My gaze found Sutton, the lightly tanned young woman with dark hair. She doesn't look like she's that bad... but she's just starting out. Lord knows how bad this will get eventually. Still silent, I walked in and let the door click shut behind me. I had no idea what I was going to say or what they were going to ask, but I hoped that I'd say the right things. Even though I didn't want to be here, I didn't want to fail.

    (( ahh sorry this is so short! there's not a lot I could do ;-; ))

      I sat quietly doodling on my notepad in Elenor's office while the first and second rounds of interviews took place. As I sat there, I started to become anxious over the fact that I soon had to make a decision over who I wanted to guard me. The fact that I even needed a bodyguard was starting to freak me out a bit. Everything was just becoming a bit too real. As early as I can remember I always knew I wanted to become an actress. I would constantly beg my parents to let me perform in plays and take me to auditions. Most times they would, but occasionally they would put their foot down and tell me that it wasn't a good time for all that. They had always been supportive of my acting, but they made sure to constantly remind me that I needed to have a back up plan if things didn't work out. They didn't want me to get my hopes of becoming this big Hollywood actress up, and then just end up with my dreams being crushed. I always knew that I would make it onto the big screen one day, and that everything else would just take off from there. I just never expected everything to happen so quickly. A lot of people work their whole lives to get to where I'm currently at in my career, so it blows my mind how I was able to get here in only a few short years. I had always pictured becoming so famous that I would need a bodyguard to follow me around everywhere, but it was hard for me to accept the fact that that time had finally arrived. I quickly snapped out of my trail of thoughts when I heard a voice say my name, "Sutton, we're ready for you," the person said. I immediately stood up from the chair I had been sitting in and gathered some of my things. I knew I wouldn't need much, so all I grabbed was my phone, notebook, and the pen I had been using. After that was done, I headed out of the room and walked into the conference room through one of the side doors. I took a seat next to Elenor and listened as she filled me in with a little background about the final three candidates. When one of her assistants finally stood up to call the first interviewee inside, my heart started to beat faster. This was all becoming real, and now it was my time to conduct the interview and ask questions that would help me decide on who I trusted to be by my side throughout this journey through fame. As the first person walked in, I quickly took a deep breath and then proceeded to examine him carefully. He seemed to be a bit older, but not by much. I assumed he was in his late twenties, which was a good age for a bodyguard. He had a large build, and I could easily tell that he visited the gym often. He walked with confidence as he entered the conference room, which I appreciated. As the guy took a seat in front of me and Elenor, I gave him a small smile and started to ask him basic questions, slowly leading into more intense ones. After only a few minutes of interviewing him, I could already tell he wouldn't be a good fit. He had the qualifications to be a great bodyguard, but he was way too full of himself. I knew I needed someone who was confident, but not arrogant. After the interview had concluded, my eyes followed the guy as he exited the room. You could tell by the way he exited the room and the smirk on his face, that he believed he had aced the final interview.

      After the first interview was done, my nerves started to calm down a bit. I now understood what questions I needed to ask, and what I was looking for in a bodyguard. As the next potential bodyguard walked in, I examined him carefully. He was a young fellow, maybe around the same age as myself? He was a tad bit skinny, but you could tell he was stronger than he looked. As the guy took a seat at the conference table, I placed a friendly smile on my face and began to conduct another interview, "Greyson Faust, right?" I asked, looking down at the sheet that contained a few details about him. After he confirmed it was him, I proceeded to ask him the same questions I had asked the previous guy, only this time liking the responses I was being given.

      {Sorry, I didn't really know what kinds of questions to ask..}

    When I sat down in the cool, quiet conference room, I met Sutton's eyes and nodded confirmation that the name she said was indeed mine. She then began asking me questions; easy ones that I knew what answers they'd probably be looking for. However, it didn't take long before the questions were a bit harder to know what to answer. The questions were starting to be more about myself, my background, and my experience. Of course, I'd thought about this all before. I had to make up an entirely new life. The number of times I'd done it made it easy, but I didn't know exactly what was good for a bodyguard. They probably wanted someone confident, but not arrogant; someone who could take orders, but knew how to handle difficult situations. In other words, someone with leadership skills. I didn't know what I could do to prove that I was stronger than I looked, but I was hoping that I appeared to be good enough.
    Finally, after quite a few questions, I was told that I could go. I nodded, thanked them both, then left the room. When I walked out, I saw the other man waiting. The other had gone, of course. We would each be getting a call about whether we got the job or not, so we didn't need to stay. it was getting late, after all. As the older man who I assumed was in his late thirties or early forties walked past me, I muttered, "good luck." He only nodded and kept walking. He didn't seem too friendly, but he wasn't rude or arrogant like the other guy. He was only... Normal. Maybe a little more serious than most. He was probably just a quiet person. Either that or he just didn't want to respond. Seeing no reason to stick around any longer, I left the room and eventually exited the building. Of course, I had to get a taxi back, too. It was hard to be optimistic when I was thrown down here with little to no information about what I was doing and only given the minimum of what I needed to live here. So they expected me to literally live down here?
    When I got back to the small apartment that was apparently mine, I decided that it would be good to find out what exactly I'd been given to start out with and what person they wanted me to be. Nothing was really my choice; usually, not even my wardrobe was my choice. I had to be the kind of person that would fit the role I needed to play so I could get close to the person I needed to guard for whatever reason. Being a bodyguard meant that what I usually wore didn't matter much, didn't it? Wouldn't there be something I usually had to wear, like a dress code or something? Or was I just expected to dress nicely myself? I guess I'd end up finding out eventually.

    (( I didn't really have much to write ;-; sorry
    again, if you need ideas never hesitate to talk to me about it. pms will never bother me. ))
