Alessa's paws shook a bit as she stood there; she simply wasn't used to being out in big crowds. She tried to speak, but only a small squeak came out. Everything in Alessa's mind told her to run and hide. Alessa's breathing suddenly seized up; her vision was getting darker around the edges and she felt like she was leaving her body. The pup's golden eyes rolled into the back of her head and she promptly fainted. Alessa was out for a few seconds before she came to. Shaking a bit, she began to hyperventilate again as she was confused as to what happened and why she was on the floor.

Pound Cake let out a curse in surprise as he noticed Alessa's tiny body going limp. He grabbed her just before she hit the floor, making sure that she didn't hit her head. He sat there on the floor, holding her until she woke up a few seconds later. Anxiously, Pound Cake peered at her ," Alessa? Alessa, love. Take deep breaths. " He said soothingly, trying to calm her down. " Just breathe slowly". A small crowd of onlookers had formed around them, but Pound Cake focused completely on Alessa. His large wings were spread wide, protecting her from being watched by the curious shoppers.

Alessa winced a little as she heard muttering from the crowd. The pup couldn't stop shaking; she was still afraid and feeling weird. She teared up a bit as her emotions were heightened. Alessa laid there, not trying to get away from Pound Cake at the moment. She oddly enough felt safe enough with him holding onto her. The girl tried to speak, but no words came out. Her gums were a little pale; the girl suffered from anemia and through her confusion, Alessa realized that she wasn't given her iron pills to take to her new home nor did she take a pill since yesterday morning.

" Shh, It's alright" Pound Cake said gently, just relived to see that she was awake, " Just breathe okay? Don't try to talk just yet." His heart beat rapidly in fear. Pound Cake didn't know what was wrong, but he was trying his best to figure out what it was so that he could help her. Thinking back to what he had read in her file, he remember that she suffered from anemia. Though, Pound Cake didn't know if she had taken her pills or what to do if her iron was too low. He debated on taking her to the hospital or not, though he decided to wait and see if she was okay before he panicked and rushed her to the hospital.

As Pound Cake heard someone murmur in the crowd, he looked up and shot them an evil glare. Just for good measure, Pound Cake flashed his fangs at them so that they would move along. He wouldn't have anyone upsetting Alessa any more than she already was.

[Boomer]

Alessa's breathing began to return to normal. She was still dizzy and feeling weak, but at least her breathing was improving. After a few moments, Alessa lifted her head up a little and looked to Pound Cake. "I-I..." she stuttered, but stopped talking as she felt a bit worse. She laid her head down in his hands again, then stared up at the ceiling. Her legs were quivering, as were her arms. Alessa hated this feeling and she wanted to leave. The girl then thought that she'd most likely end up going to the hospital, which made her shake more. She was afraid of the hospital, even if she spent almost three years in one.

Pound Cake looked her over worriedly once more. She didn't seem to be getting any better, even after she had rested a bit. He decided that it would be best to take her to the hospital right away to get her seen about. Though, he knew the folder had said she was afraid of them. Pound Cake couldn't just let her become more ill sitting here on the floor of a department store though. Carefully standing, he gently picked Alessa up and held her close to his chest. " I'm sorry love, but... I think you may need to see a doctor...." He murmured quietly. After making sure she had her doll, Pound Cake carried Alessa out of the store.

Alessa rested her head against his chest as Scarlett rested on her own chest. When Pound Cake mentioned going to the hospital, Alessa couldn't help but start to cry. "No!" she whimpered pitifully, "I don't want to go back!" She was too weak to really struggle and fight, so she just laid there and cried. Alessa was upset that just as she was finally given the chance to be a normal girl, she was going straight back to the hospital and for something that wasn't her fault. Alessa knew what this meant; a painful iron injection into her thigh and most likely a blood draw to see how low her iron was in the first place. She felt scared and angry all at once.

" Okay! Okay!" Pound Cake said, " Please don't cry. It'll be okay" It broke his heart to see her so weak and upset. Biting his lip, the poor bat didn't know what to do. Sighing softly, he looked back down at Alessa. " I promise I won't take you to the hospital if it isn't absolutely necessary, okay? Sound fair?"

Pound Cake didn't know how to help Alessa besides taking her a doctor. Biting his lip, he debated on what to do. If he brought her home, she might become more ill, but if he took her to the hospital, she might freak out again and that would make her feel even worse.

Alessa winced quietly, knowing that she would have to go to prevent anything worse from happening. The girl shut her eyes and clung to Pound Cake and onto Scarlett tightly. "Don't leave me there..." she winced. Alessa was also afraid of being left at the hospital and Pound Cake never returning for her. The pup quivered with fear as she was getting more and more dizzy and tired. Alessa lowered her ears some and sniffled. "I-I'll go, b-but I won't like it." she finally said, allowing Pound Cake to take her to the hospital and not making him feel guilty about it. It wasn't his fault the doctors screwed up.

Pound Cake bit his lip nervously, thinking it over. The only real choice was the hospital. He could tell she was getting worse the longer he waited. Pound Cake didn't want to inadvertently her her because of his own indecisiveness. He had to take her to the hospital. As Alessa said that she would let him take her to the hospital, Pound Cake felt a strange sense of relief. " I'm sorry... but it is for the best..." He said softly. Gently, Pound Cake held her a bit closer," I promise I won't leave. I'll even stay right there with you the whole time, okay?".

Pound cake's heart felt a bit numb as he hurriedly carried her to the hospital. With Alessa securely in his arms, he rushed into the ER.
