garlicnose lay comfortably slung over the sleeping heap beside her, head nuzzled into the thicker fur of her mate. sleep had become invariably associated with the steady rise and fall of his sides, a familiar feeling that had become its on lullaby of sorts, rocking her to slumber with each rhythmic cycle. she wasn't inclined to awakening until the lullaby had left her, which would leave her nest cold and empty of the warmth of another body.
crowclaw was not one for early waking. she was nothing but a snoring, titanic mound of dark fur loosely curled up on a pitifully small moss nest, easily dwarfed by its inhabitant's sheer size and just barely cushioning half of her body. it took a fair share of gentle tugging and nudging from her mate to get the slightest stirring out of her, which quickly escalated to quick nips on the ears. this, as deerpelt expected, yielded both good and bad. for one, crowclaw was definitely awake now, which was the end goal. second of all, she wasn't happy about it.
a growl rumbled in the drowsy molly's throat, a large paw striked out from the indistinguishable fur mound to lash out at the nearest target. deerpelt just barely dodged the blow, feeling wind whistle by her head, which by a hair's breadth had nearly become a recipient of the swipe.
"crowclaw. dusk patrol." deerpelt murmured. one of crowclaw's eyes lazily slipped open halfway through, before closing shut again, accompanied by a stubborn grunt.
"t'marrow," was crowclaw's grumbled reply as she turned her over to face away from the other molly.
"you said that yesterday as well, and i let you get away with it that time. you don't waspstar raving on both of us for this, mm?" deerpelt tilted her head.
crowclaw remained silent for a few moments before she huffed out a begrudging 'fine.'
