The sunlight coming in through the window was shining on Brazen's face. He grunted and rolled over, pulling the covers over his head. It was too late though, he was awake and wouldn't be going back to sleep anytime soon. However, he wasn't about to get out of the bed. He laid there on his side and looked at his princess who laid beside him, she looked so peaceful when she slept. It was hard to believe that it had already been two months since the two of them had gotten married. He still couldn't believe it had happened in the first place. As she laid there sleeping, Brazen stroked her hair with his hand. 'Poor thing.' Brazen thought to himself. The two of them had been up all night due to the princess's unknown illness that had struck her just last night. There were no symptoms before hand, the princess simply explained that she felt nauseous. Seemed like the whole night Brazen was at her side holding her hair out of the way as she threw up. Today a doctor was coming in to check on her to make sure everything was alright and that she wasn't catching anything serious. Brazen could only pray that the doctor could figure this out, he couldn't stand the thought of his princess not feeling well.
Brazen laid there by the princess's side a little longer until he knew he needed to get up. He carefully slipped out of the bed, as not to wake the princess. He put on his royal attire and exited the room quietly. He wanted to let Zoe sleep in, he knew she needed it. Brazen made his way down to the throne room where he knew the king would be. Once inside the room, Brazen knelt before the throne, "My lord, what are my duties for today." Ever since he became the prince, he had taken on his princely responsibilities to serve the kingdom. The king motioned for him to rise then instructed that his only duties for today were to see that the princess got better. Brazen nodded his head and made his leave.
He made his way to the royal kitchen and with the help of the maids he prepared a breakfast for Zoe. He carried the tray up to their room and walked inside. Zoe was still sound asleep, so he quietly made his way over to her. He set the tray down on the night stand the softly sat down next to her on the bed. He brushed the hair that had fallen out of her face. "Zoe my love, it's time to wake up."
