1x1 Aloy: The Princess and the Dragon

(I'd prefer if she wasn't, it makes the story more interesting that way) "Zoe, I'm not going to tell you again, RUN! You don't know what he'll do to you. Run back to castle and get help. Don't worry about me, you need to warn your father. Put your feelings behind you for a moment and think about the greater good. As a princess you need to protect your people. If you don't go and warn them, Kreiter will destroy your kingdom and everyone inside. Please, Zoe, go." Brazen gathered enough strength to get back on his feet. He pulled the sword he had stolen out of its sheath and got into position, remembering all the training he had put himself through for a moment like this. He looked over his shoulder one last time at Zoe, "GO!"

Zoe looked at him with tears in her eyes. Listening to what he said she took off running back to the back. Running as fast as she could. Running into the war room."Father we need to send help to Brazen. The wizard is here and he needs us"she said Begging her father to send help. Her father nodded and got the best knights and sent them to where Zoe said they were. She wanted to go back and see if he was ok. But she knew that fight belong to him and the wizard.

It relieved him to see Zoe listen to him and run. Brazen wasn't sure if he would make it out of this alive or not. He couldn't bare the thought of her having to see him die, or worse, him having to see her die. Kreiter attempted to cast a spell on Zoe preventing her from running, but Brazen swiftly kicked the wand out of Kreiter's hand causing the spell to hit another tree, causing it to fall behind Brazen and causing it to block the path keeping Zoe out of sight of the wizard. "This is between you and me Kreiter." The wicked wizard scowled at the foolish boy. He summoned his wand back to his hand. "Just you and me huh? If that's how you want to play it then fine, have it your way." The wizard cast a spell of protection around himself. Brazen knew he was no match for the wizard, but if he could at least distract him long enough for the army to get here things would be fine. Brazen drew the sword and ran towards the wizard. Kreiter fired rays of lighting at Brazen, but Brazen's swiftness allowed him to dodge each fire. Irritated, Kreiter began firing large fire balls at the thief. The bright flashes of fire as they hit the ground allowed Brazen to slip of out of sight to a nearby tree. Placing the blade of the sword in between his teeth, Brazen began to climb. He saw the confusion of the wizard as the wizard looked around. Brazen took this opportunity to leap of the tree branch and onto the wizard. This allowed him to grabbed the wand out of the grip of the wizards hand. Brazen quickly stood up and broke the wand in two. He watched as the magic faded from it. He threw it to the ground. The wizard turned his gaze to Brazen, "Foolish boy! What have you done?"
"I have taken your powers, Kreiter. You shall hurt the innocent no more."
Kreiter began to chuckle."Maybe so, but you? You are not innocent!" At this time the man stood up grabbing the sword that Brazen had dropped. The man charged at Brazen, stabbing Brazen in the stomach. "You are far from innocent. You may not look like a dragon anymore, but on the inside you are still a monster."
Brazen began to bleed out, coughing up blood as he hit the ground. Kreiter brutally pulled the sword out causing the wound to be completely opened. Brazen clenched his shirt and pushed on the wound, trying to apply pressure to stop the bleeding, but it was no use. His strength was fading and the wound was too deep. Kreiter hovered above Brazen, "How pathetic. Look at you, a thief dying for a "noble cause". Do you really love her that much that you are willing to die for her? Do you think she loves you the same? I don't think so. If she knew who you really were, the things you've done, well I think she'd leave you to rot and die alone, just like everyone else you cared about. You know, I think I'm doing the world a favor by killing. I'm getting rid of another pest who's just taking up valuable space." Kreiter smashed his foot onto Brazen's face and began to laugh. At that time a distant cry could be heard.
"Seize him!" The royal guard shouted. All at once the king's army charged at the wizard. Kreiter tried to run, but tripped over a tree root causing him to fall to the ground. One of the knights quickly grabbed the wicked man and placed a pair of enchanted handcuffs on him preventing him from using any magic. They took him away to be placed in the dungeon, meanwhile the captain of the knights spotted Brazen laying on the ground injured. "I need two men over her fast! He's bleeding out, we don't have much time." As commanded, two more knight joined the captain and helped him with Brazen. One of the men took off the shirt Brazen was wearing and tore it into strips. He then wrapped the make shift bandage around Brazen's stomach to apply pressure to the wound to slow the bleeding. They then grabbed the man and carried him back to the castle. As soon as they were in the walls of the city they commanded the medic to meet them immediately to take Brazen and rush him to the Royal infirmary at once. The color was already draining from Brazen's face, they didn't have much time. The medics came as quickly as they could and placed Brazen on a stretcher and rushed him to the infirmary to begin work immediately. The captain of the royal guard than followed the army back to the castle. After he made sure the warlock was locked away for good he made his way to the throne room to inform the king of the events. He noticed that the princess was sitting beside her father anxious to hear the report. The captain noticed the princess's eyes scanning the room, presumably for the man who had saved her. He began with his report stating how the warlock had been taken down and that he was now locked away in the dungeon under careful watch. He ended his report with, "This is all joyous news however, the hero has been struck down Sire. It doesn't look like he will make it."

Zoe listened to the captain tell his report. Hearing the part that Brazen was dieing. Jumping up she tan out and ran to the infirmary. After demanding where Brazen was she rushed over to him. "Brazen. Are you ok?"she said and took his hand

Brazen was unconscious due to blood loss. The medics had just begun to work on him when Zoe entered. "Your Highness." One of the medics approached Zoe. "I'm afraid things are not looking good for this man. I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to leave. If we have any hope of saving him, we will need all the space and concentration we can get." Another medic approached Zoe and escorted her out of the room. They began to work diligently, stopping the blood loss, cleaning the wound, and stitching it up. They did all that they could, and it seemed to be just enough. Though still unconscious, he was alive. The medics gave word to Zoe that she could come in now.

Zoe nodded and walked out but waited outside. It felt like eternity while she waited. When one of of the medics came and got her she was glad. Following the medic she went over to brazen and took his hand and sat down beside him

When he awoke, Brazen felt the pain in his gut. He winced in pain and let out a small distressed grunt. As we woke up more he realized he was holding something in his hand. He opened his, his vision was blurry, but he was able to make out a figure. "princess?' He thought to himself. He realized it was the princess's hand he was holding. He used all his strength to sit up. Without a word he placed his hand on the princess's cheek. He leaned in and kissed her.

Zoe kissed him back. A smile on her face and tears in her eyes."I'm so happy your alive"she said and pulled a chair closer to his bed and sat down. "I thought I was going to loose you"she said

"Ya, me too." He held her hand tightly in his, "You can't kill me that easily." He laughed but quickly stopped when it began to cause him pain. He couldn't sit up anymore and laid back down. "So, what happened to old Kreiter? Did they catch him?"

[Aloy]

"They caught him and he's waiting for his trial"she said and rubbed her thump over his hand. "Is there anything I can get you?"she asked
