The Dancer and The Apprentice ~ 1x1

[Happy~]

Aspen:
I didn't saying anything for a moment. I would never admit to her that she was growing on me like a friend, at least the closest thing to a friend I had..."I wouldn't gain anything by it." I tell her, "I don't need money or whatever else they would offer. I would just live the knowledge that I betrayed you, I gave you to people that would probably torture you or worst." My eyes never left her's as I talked.

I shifted my weight. He sounded honest. Why would he lie to me anyways? He didn’t have a reason to. I mean he could be lying but I had a feeling he wasn’t. I just had that feeling. “Can you promise me?” I asked.

[Happy~]

Aspen:
I nod, "I promise you." I say then look in the direction of arguing men, "Come on, it's not safe in this part of the town." I say and take her hand in mine to lead her away.

I tried to pull away but his grip on me was too strong. Well at least he would take care of the situation with all the strength he had. It made me feel strange to follow him. It was strange that I felt safe. His hands were rough, those of a black smith for sure, but also comforting.

[Happy~]

Aspen:
I felt try to pull away but I didn't want her hurt so I made sure to keep my grip firm but not tight. I knew the allies from when I was a child and turned down a darker one, a minute later the two arguing men passed. They were both drunk and could barely walk straight. I watch them then look around, "Lets get you home, where do you live?" I ask her.

I felt his grip become more firm as we moved and release when we got into the ally way. I held my breath as the men passed. It reminded me of when I was little and watched people come out of the pub. They would sway back and forth and I would laugh like it was a show, just for me. I looked back at Aspen as I heard his question. “I don’t tell people where I live. I can get home by myself from here.” I said stubbornly.

[Happy~]

Aspen:
Stubborn idiot...I think as I look at her, "Fine, but don't scream for me when they try to take you." I tell her, my eyes narrowed. " If you want a sword then come to the shop an hour before sunrise." I tell her, "I'll have a cloak for you, the guards don't come till the sun starts to rise." I then walk from the alley way, headed for my run down home.

I knew he thought I was being stupid but I could handle myself. I didn't need a man to take care of me. I hadn't ever had anyone to take care of me anyhow. I looked out for myself. I walked back to my hut and flopped down onto my bed. I yawned and curled up to sleep. My dreams came quickly and I was soon under the spell of sleep.

[Happy~]

Aspen:
Once at my little house I started my fire, keeping it low as I curled up near it. I was a bit reluctant to go to sleep, not wanting the nightmares to plague. So instead I thought of Dawn and what sword she may like.

I awoke in the middle of the night and ran my hands through my hair. My nightmare had shaken me awake. I was just a dream. I ran my hands over my gown. I was still alive and breathing. I stood up and got on my normal clothing. Then, I got onto my horse and rode to Aspen's place and knocked.
