The Dancer and The Apprentice ~ 1x1

[Happy~]

Aspen:
"I see I don't have a much of a choice." I say and step back, judging how many guards there were and how hard it would he to take them out.

[lavender moon]

I panicked as I heard the guards step inside. I reached up and grabbed the wooden parts below the bed that support the mattress. The mattress had a hole below it and I reached up and climbed in. My breath was faster now and I tried to slow it and make it softer. A pair of feet stopped near the bed and I saw a sword poke below me as he searched for anyone there. I held my breath. “We will be back again. Mark my words if we find out you were here, it won’t just be the girl we take to the queen.” He snapped and left. I crawled out slowly from beneath the bed.

[Happy~]

Aspen:
I narrow my eyes at him as they leave then shut the door. Turning to her I ask, "Are you Alright?" As I walk towards her, battling with my emotions. "This is why I didn't want to risk sneaking out to the shop at this time. I don't know why the guards are here but it's becoming less safe for you now." I tell her, now standing just inches from her. The fire had died while we were asleep, helping to hide my red rimmed eyes and ghostly expression on my face from my dream.

I knew he was upset. I was hoping he was upset because he was worried for my safety. It sounded like my hopes were being confirmed as he scowled me with a lecture. I listen. It was understandable. He was in danger as well now. It was my fault too. Someone must’ve seen me though. The guards had gotten a tip from someone. That was clear. “I’m sorry. Alright? If that’s what you want to hear then there. I didn’t mean to put you in danger. I should be going anyways.” I had become upset at the lecture. It was just the typical girl thing. We were always upset when we’re yelled at.

[Happy~]

Aspen:
I shake my head, "You can't leave now. They'll most likely stay in the area until you're found. Just stay until morning and we'll work something out." I say, sitting on the edge of my bed. I rarely slept in it, causing it to become dusty. "I didn't mean to make you upset...but I'm worried. Not about me but you." I tell her, looking up into her eyes. I couldn't deny that I felt some thing towards her, more than just friendship.

Standing I walk towards her and take her hand in mine gently, "Dawn...would you want to leave the village with me?" I ask her.

I almost snapped that I could take care of myself. I mean I didn't need anyone to protect me for the last 16 or so years of my life. Why would I need anyone now? Simple answer. I didn't. Of course, I couldn't bring myself to say that. Aspen was never like this. I wasn't going to be the one to shut it down. The next thing he said though shocked me. "DO you know how much danger you would be putting yourself in?"

[Happy~]

Aspen:
"I'm already on their radar." I tell her, rubbing my thumb over the top of her hand, "I-I want to know that your safe. Here you aren't, there starting to zero in on your location." I tell her, sending comforting warmth through my hand to her.

[lavender moon]

I wish I could pull away my hand but the warmth is comforting. "I can take care of myself. They haven't discovered where I live yet and we only just met not to long ago."

[Happy~]

Aspen:
"How long do you think it'll take for them to find out where you live. You came here in the middle of the night and got spotted. It's not safe, I don't under understand why you're so stubborn about this." I let her hand go and run it through my hair, pacing a bit. Worry flared in me, igniting my body temperature to rise.

“Aspen, I’ve been livin there since I was a little girl. Hook doesn’t even know and he was the one who first found me.” I reminded him. He was being stubborn here. I was fine but he refused to see that I could take care of myself.
