Seth:
During that hour and a half all the boxes were off of the truck and all that was left was the furniture. Wiping sweat from my forehead I look up at the sun, not sure how much longer I could be in it...my skin was already starting to feel like it was burning. Standing in the shade of the truck for a minute I closed my eyes to relax, but Garth's voice shot through the peace. "Hurry up! We only have an hour left to return the truck!" he snapped and walked toward me. I quickly darted into the truck and began to struggle with the couch, first trying to push it then started to pull it. Garth helped, somewhat by lifting it but directed most if not all of the weight onto me. Breathing heavily I start to head for the doors then the stairs.
When Garth put his end down I nearly got crushed from all of the weight being transferred over to me. "Garth!" I said, glaring over at him as I attempt to pull the couch up the stairs but to little avail. Growling in frustration I strain my muscles, trying to get the couch to move. All it did was leave me breathless and tired while Garth just shook his head, "Hurry up!" he snapped, looking at his watch making me glare at him again.
The last thing I expected was hearing Percy's voice, turning my head to him I smile before I realize it. I didn't complain when he asked to help or when he lifted the couch. I knew Garth was seething but he said nothing, just glaring at Percy as if he could burn him where he stood. "Thanks." I say as I lift my end up, noticing how happy he seemed to be. So far I had yet to see him be anything but in a good mood. I was slow going up the stairs, seeing as I was heading up them backwards but I didn't want to trip or go to fast incase Percy decided to drop his end like Garth had done...though I really couldn't see him doing that.
Once on our floor I set the couch down carefully, panting as I leaned against the wall. Garth had followed up more slowly and I could see he was thinking, working things out in his head. "Thanks Percy...if you don't mind I could use some more help with the stuff in the truck." I tell him, "But you seemed like you were heading out and I don't want to mess up your plans." I say, offering him a grateful smile as Garth comes up to me. He then kisses me then whispers so Percy cant hear, "Don't show him your weak." Stepping back he says, "You need to put on a jacket." I nod to both statements, knowing he was right about one of them. Any more sun exposure and my skin would start to burn and I would soon grow weak. "Let me get a jacket then we can get this beast of a couch into the living room." I use Percy's description of the couch, finding it funny. I hadn't heard his Mulan reference earlier or else I would have used that as well.
