the damsel became very distressed when she watched as patches' owner began to drag him away and out of sight. she squirmed in her owner's firm embrace, fearing the worst for her dear friend. finally, the collie managed to break away from her master's arms and she darted off in the direction of patches. her heart was racing as the sound of her owner's voice rang in her ears. treasure didn't glance back for even a second, she whipped around the corner and spotted patches in the grasp of his human. she jumped at his owner, knocking her off of her feet. treasure's paws landed on his owner's stomach while she tumbled to the floor, causing her to loose her grip on the dog's collar. the female turned to her friend quickly "come on!" she barked, twisting around and dashing off in the other direction, hoping they could get away before the woman had a chance to get to her feet. they had gotten away and treasure sprinted into a storage closet with patches. she took in a breath, sitting behind a vacuum cleaner to hide. after a few moments of silence as to make sure no one would come to get them, her eyes wandered to patches' face. "i know you didn't do anything, and i know that desoto's a liar. i trust you." she said in a hushed voice, her eyes softening. after a short paused, she spoke again. "but i'm afraid..that the other dogs, and our owners don't know this." treasure said with a hushed whimper.

"i will be in this competition!" he snapped angrily at terrier, but quickly caught himself and tried to put on another look of pain, although he couldn't contain his anger. "help me, you dim-wits!" desoto barked. two large pitbulls stepped forward and assisted the doberman out of the area. they were like his gang members, and he was the alpha. although they only helped him because they were too scared of him to not obey, just as the other dogs around the shows. annie followed after desoto quickly, "i can't believe someone would hurt such a great, strong, and brave dog like you." she sighed and shook her head, batting her lashes towards him.

A sorrowful whine escaped the muzzle of the dog, nose twitching as dreary eyes looked to his friend's. Patches felt defeated and there was no other emotion to feel within him. Desoto had bested him and everybody could tell. Those who believed Patches became rabid and those who believed he was innocent of every crime. Desoto had won and now he got to compete in the competition. Nothing could fill the void he felt. Trapped, he was tethered and unable to escape from the closet he was trapped in. Hidden away until the fabricated rabid beast was dealt with, such was the fate of the fallen. Head hanging low, a whine grew louder as he lay.

Patches had lost the hope he held of holding more trophies. All would be stripped to bare walls and so would his pride. No idea of what to do with both his reputation and damaged relationships with his friends. Treasure had to know a way to fix it. Even a dog with... average intelligence such as Cooper or someone with with such divine wisdom as Gismo. Treasure had to know somebody to help him clear his name. Suddenly, his ears and head perked up as a hushed whisper escaped him.

"I didn't hurt his paw. Wouldn't his paw be hurt tremendously if I really did attack it?" Tail wagging, the small glimmer of hope suddenly erupted into the light at the end of the tunnel. Sitting up, he could barely express his glee. Knowing he had to be quiet, his paws just scraped the ground as he couldn't keep skill. Spinning around as best as he could with the leash tying him to his current fate, his eyes darted to Treasure.

"Prove the injury is fake and we can play on the obstacle course again! I can compete again! It'll be just like old times! Please, Treasure, help me!"

she slipped through the doggie door smoothly to enter her house. before glancing back for a moment to make sure patches would also fit through. he had just slightly more trouble than the petite female did, but he stepped through and made it inside. treasure checked around for her owner briefly, but she was still at work. settling down on her fluffy bed, she gazed towards patches with a soft sigh. they had been walking and playing before, so she was feeling rather tired now. the slight tiredness also caused her to feel serene and calm. treasure rested her chin on a soft pillow that sat on her bed, weariness tugging at her eyes. treasure only rested for a couple of minutes before lifting her head again. she didn't want patches to feel unwelcome in any way. after all, he was a guest. she needed to keep some conversation going instead of being boring and sleepy. her friend was always so joyful and energized, but sometimes she just couldn't quite keep up with him. of course this wasn't her fault, and she really has always loved his energy and playfulness to keep her feeling happy and upbeat rather than feeling pushed away or upset. some dogs weren't as nice as patches was to her. she tapped her tail gently behind her, her ears perking slightly before she spoke to her friend.
"i had so much fun, thanks for hanging out with me.. i really enjoy your company!" a kind smile came to the collie's face, feeling appreciative that she had such a wonderful friend. she wished every day was filled with adventures and fun, but most of the time she was stuck in the house while her owner was out. treasure always got lonely so very quickly, but when she could see patches she forgot all about the loneliness.

treasure looked to the side of her and spotted a special stuffed animal that looked like a spotted cow. after a few seconds of thinking, she reached over and picked it up gently in her maw. turning back to her friend, she placed the toy on the hardwood floor. it laid right in front of his paws and she looked up to his face with a beam. "I meant to give this to you earlier, it's my favorite toy..but now it can be your favorite! i know you'll take good care of it." she woofed softly, her tail wagging faster. the collie felt as though patches did so much for her, and she never had given anything in return. although that wasn't true because she had given him kindness and friendship just as he did for her. hopefully he'd appreciate the offer. the female watched closely to see the male's expression. treasure was beyond happy with the nice day she had, she never had the chance to feel cramped up and lonely because they were out playing all day long. she'd rest well tonight for sure.
